Stayed last night with my partner - overall just OK. Spa lovely quite small but nice. Booked superior room however no bath which I was gutted about. Bed not very comfy was up most of night and found a hair on the bed 🤷🏻‍♀️ best thing was we nipped for a late cocktail not realising the 2 for 1 deal finished at 9 but lovely barman let us have the deal. Stayed elsewhere better for a lot cheaper.

I’d actually changed my hotel reservation to this establishment based on the reviews I’d seen but I’m left doubting my decision. Here are my observations:

Good size free car park.

Good WiFi throughout.

Check in - long wait, both staff were dealing with customers but neither had the courtesy to acknowledge my existence, there was also another member of staff stood by the reception desk next to a large tray of small cakes. No idea what her purpose was?

Room - I’d booked a superior room and was really disappointed to note that there was no bath only a shower which I wasn’t advised of. Rang reception to ask if it was possible to have a room with a bath, it took a bit of time but we were moved to a room with a bath (room 131) which I was really grateful for. Decor in the room was nice, lovely large bed, fridge, air conditioning and modern bathroom fittings. Unfortunately there was a musty smell from the bathroom, the door to the room didn’t fit well and was very difficult to close and there was only Nescafé coffee and basic tea on the hospitality tray.

Restaurant - for Friday night we had a dinner, bed and breakfast deal, we went to the bar which was empty of both staff and customers so went straight to the restaurant (which was also unusually empty for peak time on a Friday evening). No wine list provided, no cocktails offered at all, I asked the waitress what wine they offered by the glass but she didn’t know and had to get someone else. Menu was very limited only 5 choices per course and 2 of the 5 choices for each course attracted a surcharge. The menu like the decor of the restaurant was rather dated (early 1990s) food was adequate but not something I’d rush to have. We chose to eat out on Saturday night.

Pool / spa - good changing room nice to have lockers with pin codes rather than needing specific coins. Good showers. Pool seems smaller than on pictures but was fine. No idea what spa facilities are offered as I couldn’t see anything by the pool and unusually there was no literature in the room.

Breakfast - somewhat disorganised on Saturday morning and an absolute debacle on Sunday, issues included, long wait to be seated I was invisible again like at reception, wrong tea was brought, no glasses for juice, no croissants just crumbs, berries with yoghurt were still frozen, no eggs, no bread for toast.

Staff - normally hotel staff are trained to acknowledge customers, just a polite hello as they pass you in the corridor, or checking if you need anything in a restaurant - that training is obviously missing here.

Noise - there was some sort of event (I assume a wedding reception) on Saturday evening. Unfortunately the function room appeared to be directly under our bedroom which made it very difficult to sleep with all the noise. I dread to think what you’d do if you had young children.

As you can probably ascertain next time I’m in the area I’ll choose to stay elsewhere.

Stopped here for the second time last week, only stoped for one night before flying out from Birmingham airport, staff really friendly and helpful, had a breakfast before leaving, we lovely and plenty to chose from,would definitely recommend.

The room was OK, comfortable bed. However the staff we encountered were terrible - we waited for 35 minutes at the bar as the hapless bartender faffed about, we then were told we could only pay at the bar if we charged our drinks to our room and set up a tab? When we checked out we then received a bill for over £180 for a dinner we had not had - we had been at a wedding the day previous so had not eaten in there!
The staff throughout our experience were very poor and clearly untrained with little to no customer service.

We chose Lea Marston for our Golden Wedding party and we are very pleased we did. From our first visit to the evening of our party everyone was helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A 50th Anniversary is quite an occasion and Lea Marston made sure everything went right. Special sincere thanks to Becky and Dan 🥂

I actually had an accessible room on my stay for some reason , generous room twin beds and a very generous shower room

It depends what package you book. But I think the pool and other facilities in the leissure center is free.
