This guesthouse is a little far away from the market, it is not easy to find at first. It takes about 20 minutes or more to walk there from the market. Rooms are located beside the river, mostly by wooden decorations which are beautiful. There are tables outside each room so you may just sit there and enjoy the beautiful... More

the fact that it is situated on the river is very pleasant as you can see the monks coming on little boats in the morning and some vendors, even on weekdays, making it more authentical the owner speaks very good english but living in Thailand I have stayed in better places for the price also big draw back is that... We, family of four, had a great time in Amphawa and in Chotika. Making the reservation was quite complicated and the rates ended up to be slightly higher than those advertised on the website but once we got there we were received in a very friendly manner and staff has been helpful to us all through the stay. The rooms... More

A nice place to stay for a relax between the bussle of Bangkok and travel down south. Amphawa as an area has the floating market and the glow worms as the major tourist attractions. The property has the attraction of monks paddling directly infront of the door in the mornings and you are able to offer food. The rooms were... More

We stayed there with friends before Songkran festival, We actually enjoyed the stay, Amphawa is a highly recommended place. Chotika is located in a lovely spot but something needs to be fixed, not a major problem but if the owner can do, it will be 100 % perfect. The air-cond was not cool enough for the whole room, and the... More

We have just returned from spending 3 days in Amphawa @ Chotika with our 4 year old. Beautiful place. Lovely & helpful host. Make sure you visit over the weekend to experience the riverside market. We visited the floating market, fire flies, railway market, Wat Kai Bang Kung & Bang Kung Camp. Highly recommend all of them.

Chotika is a bit far from main evening market of Ampawa if you wish to enjoy floating market. However the room is a traditional canal front shop house. It is a very good experience to stay in the hoise like this despite the sound proved between the room was poor. we can hear next room speak. the canel is good... More

Chotika is a nice riverfront guesthouse. A bit far from town if you don't have your own transport, but you can still walk (it's about 1 kilometre from the town and the floating market). Go to Ampawa before it gets too commercialised like Damnuan Saduok. My family enjoyed the resort very much. Breakfast is minimalist, but they have congee and... More

I agree with the previous reviews. We really enjoyed our stay at Chotika. The friendly owner and his family do their best to make your stay comfortable, helped especially by the owner's excellent English. We particularly appreciated that he accommodated our very late arrival and helped us with a problem we had with our hire car. Chotika consists of converted... More

If you want to visit a 'real' floating market, that is not for tourists, but actually used by the Thai people, then Amphawa is the place to visit. Chotika is a great place to stay to visit all the local area has to offer. The owner is extremely helpful & can speak excellent English. He arranged for a tuk-tuk to... More
