We have just booked with Margaret to come back in July 2018 for a week, this will be are 3rd time staying at Terramara and i can not wait to go back. EVERYTHING you need is there and more.. we have took our children here and they loved it always ask to go back its perfect for kids as they can have freedom to go where they want with only one rule which is not to go in the pool unless theres an adult with them which really is just commonsence. rooms are lovely size very clean, rooms are connecting so if like us and need two rooms one for you and the children you have easy access to them all rooms offer large sun terrace. There are only 4 rooms so always lovely quiet and very relaxing sunbath by the side of the pool leaving all the stress and worries of home behind.. its is a wonderful suntrap at Terramara and the pool is a much needed way to cool off. There is also washing machines so you can take clean clothes home, which Margaret takes care of for you. all towels provided for you there is everything you could think of and so much more.. car is needed for the location, but WOW what a location.. you would no be disapointed here at all if you booked. local resturant at bottom of hill about 5 min drive away offers fantastic food and good prices

We stayed here for 10 days during June/July and we're so glad we picked it! The hosts Margaret and her husband Andrew were absolutely lovely, really helpful and welcoming and there's loads of information etc there. The rooms have everything you would expect and everything you need for cooking. There is a little room across the yard that has all books, spare crockery, suncreams etc etc that people have left so you don't have to buy little things like oil, salt etc. There are only 4 rooms there, it would be a great spot for a group of you as you would have the whole place to yourselves. There's a patio outside the room with clothes dryer and table and chairs, the view is stunning across the water and the sunsets were lovely. The pool area is really clean with nice loungers and umbrellas, there's a little bar where you can help yourself and pay for what you take. I thought this was a really nice touch. It's a short ish drive to Kissamos and there are some smaller villages nearby with places to eat and mini markets as well. We're so glad we stayed here, it suited us perfectly and i'd really recommend it.

We had the best time at Terramara during our honeymoon! We only spent two nights here, and regretted not planning for more. The rooms look out over the most amazing view we had on all of Crete, and the patio could not have been more relaxing. The rooms were bright, clean and cozy. Margaret and Andrew were the best hosts we've had during our travels. They had lots of great tips on the area and many wonderful stories, as well! We highly recommend a stay here, and greatly hope to be back one day.

Had a great time in Terramara, Margaret and Andrew were amazing hosts. The views from the rooms are perfect with a lovely balcony to sit out on which gave us a really peaceful time away. The rooms themselves where clean and bright, and the bed was very comfortable. We had a hire car so getting around the island was really easy, and there is a very nice restaurant just down the hill which we really enjoyed and the town was really easy to get to. Would thoroughly recommend here and will definitely be back again.

Margaret and Andrew are great hosts and their place is a wonderful location up in the hills of Western Crete. Margaret went above and beyond to find us things to do and see locally and checked in to make sure all was well.

A lovely private place to stay. Only four rooms each with their own en-suite and balcony with a beautiful view down to the sea. Margaret is a great host with lots of local knowledge and suggestions of places to visit and eat at. Visited in the Spring and there were lots of local flowers!

We found Terramara purely by chance driving along the old road from Chania to Kissamos. Margaret was out but left her phone number on the door. One call later, and she so kindly offered to let us just sit at the pool and drink a beer! In the end my girlfriend and I took room 3 and loved every minute. Margaret offered air conditioning but we didn't end up using it. Just keeping the door open was more than enough and the view throughout the night was spectacular. Margaret and Andrew made us feel very welcome. We felt at home and are sure you will too. The other reviews get the descriptions spot-on (which I was really happy to see). All the best M&A and see you again soon!

Last year in August, we found Terramara by chance searching on Tripadvisor....We had a wonder full time! The accommodation is simple and clean, exactly as I like! it is a quiet spot, surrounded by beautiful landscapes. The view from the Studio is breathtaking. After a long day sightseeing our little boy enjoyed the refreshing pool while we enjoyed a relaxing aperitif at the bar. A friendly and discrete atmosphere with the right balance to make the holiday special. Margaret and Andrew know the island very well and helped to make the daily tours easy, fun and interesting. Also many highlights of the island are close by; so as long as you have a car, you can reach culture, tropical-like beaches and walking areas easily. It was a great holiday, simply perfect for us!

We spent a couple of nights at Terramara in May whilst touring around Crete. Although we've visited the island many times before, we hadn't been to this area. Having spent a few nights in the middle of Rethymno (which was great) it was quite a contrast to get to the peace and quiet of the countryside. Margaret met us and gave us a quick tour of the property. The studio was spacious, comfortable and clean and contained everything you could need. In addition there is a pool and `honesty` bar as well as a washing room (washing machine & tumble dryer). For us the best part was the location - on a hillside overlooking olive groves with views of both sea and mountains. There are some small villages within a few few minutes drive, and it's a relatively short drive to either Kissamos or Kolymbari. For us it had the best of all worlds - easy access to things to see and do, but a tranquil location away from tourist hustle and bustle. Margaret and Andrew made us very welcome and provided useful information about places to visit and driving routes. Our only disappointment came when it was time to move on. I'm sure we'll return - we like walking and Terramara would be a perfect base for exploring the area.

Terramara is a gem . Set on a beautiful hillside overlooking mature olive groves looking to the sea and mountains, this is a spectacular location. But there's much more to it than that .Margaret and Andrew really know how to make you welcome .Obliging is an understatement. They could not have been more welcoming, caring or generous The accommodation is beautifully appointed, with all the necessities and a few extras. Everything is thought of from Margaret making sure we had enough provisions to Andrew anxious for us to find all the best locations in the area with his descriptive routes and maps.[Enjoy his quirky punning sense of humour. He's an "elafonisi" going chap.]There! he's got me at it. The scenery in this part of crete is truly stunning. Mountains, gorges, beaches ,towns, villages .History is all around from Minoan ruins of 3000bc to the second world war .A truly incredible and diverse landscape. Don't miss it and don't miss Terramara ,you will be delighted
