We chose this place because of the positive reviews, and as it turned out it felt like we were visiting a friend’s house rather than a commercial hotel / B&B. Iva, her mum & dad, all the staff were very helpful and friendly. We ate in both the nights. On the 1st night we had an incredible meal (starters +...

I stayed in this wonderful place with my wife father and mother in law and our springer spaniel Billy and we can't say enough good things about it. The house is very well presented and the attention to detail is tremendous but it is the people that made our time there so memorable. Iva is the driving force and is...

The welcoming was exceptional - the owners made us feel at home and showed the place around. The place has amazing details and is built with great care and attention. And the breakfast was exceptional! Not to be missed!

Our stay at Solar Egas Moniz was fantastic. From the hosting, to the breakfast quality and simpathy of all staff, everything was great and made our stay memorable. We also recommend visting Quinta da Aveleda.

We stayed for 5 nights at this b&b and loved everything about it! The house is breathtakingly beautiful (inside and out), the staff is incredibly friendly, and the region is lovely. And did I mention that the breakfast was perfect?! The house is the ultimate mix of old world charm/character and beautifully designed, modern, clean spaces. They did and incredible...

We stayed for several days at the beginning of October to explore the Porto region. This is actually a very good base as it is surrounded by very efficient motorways leading to Porto, of course, Braga, Guimaraes, etc... The Douro valley is very close and the city of Penafiel interesting (don't miss the city museum). Porto itself is about 30...

We stayed for 4 wonderfully relaxing days towards the end of September. We were very fortunate to have the Lealdade Junior Suite, with the large stained glass window in a lounge area, this and the 2 french windows in the bedroom area gave a beautiful range of natural light throughout the day. The bed was very comfortable with high quality...

This charming bed & breakfast makes itself seem welcoming even before you reach it, thanks to the warm and informative emails you receive before arriving from Iva, who helps run the place with the rest of her family with good humour and grace. Reaching the hotel is not too difficult; the roads swerve but are in good shape (also: there...

A nice and small hotel. Very friendly. They try to help you as much as possible with information about the surrounding area - museums, restaurants. The name of the rooms with the definition on the wall are a must. We got Altruism. Not a very big room, and you only have the 4 portuguese tv channels, but if you are...
