We have just returned from a 6 night stay at The Miramar as a family of 3 with a teenage daughter.
Whilst we had been to the resort of Puerto Pollensa previously, it was our first stay at The Miramar.
The location is perfect, right in the middle of the bay with plenty of restaurants if you walk either way out of the hotel. There is also a square set back with a further choice of eateries. Whilst there are plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance and there were lots of people enjoying the resort, it is a very tranquil and relaxing place for a break, keeping its traditional Spanish charm where many holiday destinations have not.
The hotel itself is in a pedestrianised area of the promenade, it was so lovely to get away from any traffic.
Holidaying during COVID came with extra concerns but the hotel itself is very COVID safe- masks are mandatory in public indoor spaces at all times and all areas of the hotel are kept spotlessly clean with plenty of hand sanitising stations available.
Breakfast on the terrace looking out on to the beach was beautiful, there was a wide choice of food each day whatever your fancy.
We also ate lunch at the hotel most days for ease and the menu selection was varied and food quality high. Prices for food and drinks were surprisingly reasonable considering the location of the hotel.
There is an outdoor and indoor pool at the health spa at the rear of the hotel to enjoy as well as a bathing terrace by the sea and private beach area. Whilst I don’t know if the hotel was at full occupancy, there were always plenty of sun loungers available in a variety of spots, sun and shade with umbrellas. There is a bar for drinks overlooking the sea where I can highly recommend a pina colada 😉
The staff at the hotel were always accommodating and very pleasant, we particularly appreciated the late checkout of one of our rooms to make the most of our last day.
We spent most of the time relaxing but did spend a day hiring out a boat to explore the bay which was a great experience.
All in all, we had an amazing holiday at The Miramar and will definitely be back… highly recommend for a relaxing beach stay with local character. Top top… ensure to book a sea view room if you can, the setting is beautiful to wake up to each day as so close to the sea.

We spent the first week here after the hotel re-opened due to Covid-19
We had a fantastic week in the Miramar, from it's perfect location to the quality of the staff who couldn't be more helpful.

breakfast was served to us outside on the terrace which apparently isn't the normal, but we enjoyed it very much, there was a choice of continental and or a hot breakfast of the usual eggs (various ways) bacon , sausage etc.

We had lunch a few times at the Hotel in our stay and was excellent and very reasonably priced !!

Sunbeds are free (saves you 15 euros a day!) on a private platform and there was plenty although due to Covid the hotel wasn't busy, you get access direct to the beach which sandy and shallow, which was perfect for my son to take his paddle board out from

The resort is excellent it has a varied range of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes although a little pricey.

We thought the resort handled the risk of Covid very well as EVERY member of staff in the hotel, bar, restaurant and shop wore face masks at all times along with hand sanitiser as you enter each one. We felt safe !!!

We are definitely looking to book again

Excellent hotel and staff. Hotel spotlessly clean. Staff pleasant and very hard working. We had a twin bedded room on 1st floor with balcony facing rear courtyard. Room cleaned every day, towels/sheets changed regular. Kettle and tea/coffee making facilities. Fridge. Shower with constant hot water, not like in Greece! There are lifts in hotel for those with walking/mobility issues. Free wifi and air conditioning. ( that alone saved us over 200€ from time in Greece) Miramar situated about 10 metres from beach( very gently shelving, great for kids) and the Pine Walk. Predominantly older people staying at hotel and like us, most were repeat customers. Breakfast had lots of choice both hot and cold and on a buffet basis, so eat as much as you want! Free beach towels available, again which you can change daily. Free sunbeds available in their private area which gives access to a bar for drinks/snacks and the beach. Didn't eat in hotel on an evening as you are literally spoilt for choice for places to eat/drink within a couple of minutes walk of the hotel. Don't worry about bringing cash here, every place we went preferred card payment including buses/taxi's. Get a Monzo card and you pay no charges whilst away, unlike most bank cards. Pollenca old town- 15 mins on bus is a must, like Alcudia old town for the market. Regular buses and tap on and off with your card. No more than 4€ each. We had lunch numerous times in the Miramar, great quality and value and to address issue of noise from bin wagons by other reviews. There is a bit around 6am but hotel double glazed. We had no issue.
Highly recommended and we will definitely be back

This is a very traditional and historic hotel in the main area of Port de Pollenca. As other reviewers have said, the sea view rooms are so worth the extra and the view over the harbour and marina is breathtaking. The room we had in the new black was not huge but there’s a lot of extra, unnecessary furniture that takes up what little space you have. The rooms are made up each day and are equipped with a fridge, hairdryer etc and there is also a kettle and teas and coffees. Shower gel and liquid soap is provided in the bathroom. The beds are really comfortable too. I was worried when I had read other reviews that the rooms were really noisy but I did not find that. Breakfast is really good and runs from 8-11am and has hot and cold options with fresh baked croissants etc and fruit as well as omelettes made to order with seating either inside or outside. As said by other reviewers, there is a need to secure specific sunbeds early, especially if you want an umbrella and guests are reserving sunbeds as early as 6.30am although there are spare stacked sunbeds on the small beach area there is no shade there so may not be suitable for everyone
Our big disappointment was having the small swimming pool in a completely separate location which I hadn’t fully realised. To reach the pool you have to leave the hotel, cross the road, go through a separate access which leads to the sauna and gym and you get to the pool. There are a small number of sunbeds round the pool but they are very squished together. I had not realised that the pool was not easily accessible for a quick dip and that was a real shame made worse when there were red flags on the beach and no one was allowed in the sea for several days.
In the evening you can have drinks by the sea but the service is quite patchy and we were frequently told to go to the hotel bar to get drinks or sent from one waiter to the other or even that the bar was closed. Also note that after 7pm there is an increase in drinks prices as it is open to non residents but residents still have to pay the extra which I thought was not fair. The service generally in the hotel was a little ‘off’. For example, we tried to book a table for dinner and were sent from one waiter to the other with nobody wanting to make the reservation for us. Not ok. There are loads of older guests who return year after year and maybe do not notice the issues with customer care but, as a first time visitor, I found some of the staff a little curt and dismissive which is not something that we usually experience. There was one exception though - I want to mention the lovely night reception man who spoke very little English but who was so helpful when I had an issue.
All in all a lovely hotel but due to the issues I’ve mentioned I can only give it 4 stars.

Nice to be back at the Miramar after visiting once previously. The hotel is in a perfect location on the Pine Walk, with its own beach and private sun terrace less than a stone's throw away. The only change since our last stay is that breakfast can now be taken outside on the terrace which is a good improvement (breakfast is fresh, tasty and varied).
The rooms are traditionally furnished, immaculately clean and of a reasonable size. We were in sea view rooms which improves the experience but really is not essential when you're so close to the sea stepping out of the hotel's front door.
The staff are generally pleasant, but didn't take into consideration a request for adjoining rooms made well in advance of our arrival (the same happened last time we stayed), and the reception staff are sometimes brusque to the point of being a bit unfriendly when basic requests are made ie asking for the key to the storage garage where bikes, inflatables etc are stored.
The pool area is small but adequate with plenty of loungers, and is a peaceful change from the beach.
I'm not sure we'd return. We had a lovely holiday, but we found service in all the hotel bars, restaurants etc we visited to be better than in our own hotel. I think the staff are happier dealing with older couples, which do make up the majority of guests, rather than a family of four requiring two rooms, four beach towels every day, the key to put an inflatable away...

We stayed at the Miramar Hotel for 10 days in a sea view room with large balcony. We were delighted with all aspects of the hotel, the room was excellent with an amazing view right across the bay with sun loungers on an extremely large balcony. We paid extra for this room but it was well worth the expense. The rooms were thoroughly cleaned every day with fresh bed linen and towels - I would like to make a special mention for the housekeeping staff having stayed all over the world I thought the cleanliness of the rooms was outstanding and they obviously have well motivated staff who take pride in their work.

The food in the hotel was excellent, we enjoyed the extensive buffet breakfast that included fruit, yoghurt, cereals, cold meats, an array of breads and pastries as well as cooked breakfast items. You really couldn’t go hungry! Although we had lunch in the hotel we didn’t stay for dinner due to the huge choice of restaurants within walking distance but we did come back for post dinner drinks and the atmosphere in the evening was lovely with the outside seating creating a lovely ambience right on the main pine walk.

We found all the staff to be efficient and friendly without being obtrusive. We noticed many of the guests were return visitors that were greeted like long lost friends by the staff so they must be doing something right. The hotel has a private section of the beach that has loungers and it’s own beach bar that seemed very pleasant. We preferred the small pool which is situated at the rear of the hotel within the spa building. This was a very welcome addition to our stay and the spa pool, steam room and sauna were also great amenities.

Overall the hotel was everything we were expecting and more. The hotel is one of the oldest in the resort and the amount of returning guests show that they take pride in providing a great service to their guests.

Hotel in perfect location on Pine Walk, we were lucky enough to be able to upgrade to sea view for 6/7 nights which we felt was worth it as we had got such a good deal from TUI for a last minute booking. Stunning views. Our sea view room was slightly smaller than our original room which overlooked a pretty internal courtyard. Bed and breakfast with comfy beds and extensive buffet breakfast including hot buffet. Hotel is immaculately clean and staff very helpful and friendly. Useful spa for hotel guests with sauna, steam room, small gym and small indoor dip pool and cold outside pool which was very quiet and a nice place to relax on a cloudy day for a change. Tip - book in at reception 30 mins ahead to make sure steam room is open. They provide free towels for beach and spa, no deposit a real bonus! Hotel very central to all amenities of resort, plenty of places to walk to and eat and bus station 5 mins walk. Couldn’t fault the hotel, would definitely like to return in the future but would always go out of school holidays if we were travelling on our own, Pollensa and Alcudia Old towns very busy despite late season.

Been visiting Pollensa for many years and eaten at the Miramar numerous times but this was our first stay. We had expectations. And they were met.
We had a warm welcome on arrival and help with our luggage.

Our room was beautiful with a wonderful view of the ocean and port. It was spotless and cleaned really well every day.

Breakfast was a lovely experience and served until 11am with the widest choice of food you could imagine. It was a real pleasure every day. The option to eat outside on the terrace or inside with cool aircon was ideal and whilst we were there at high season it never felt too busy or crowded.

The same goes for the beautiful sun terrace. It never felt crowded and there was no competition for sun beds. All was really stress free and beach towels were provided by the hotel and could be changed for clean ones during the stay. The sea and beach next to the sun terrace were also lovely, sandy and clean. We like to sunbathe later in the day as it gets cooler and appreciated not being encouraged to move off the terrace until we were ready.

We enjoyed the Miramar Lounge in the evenings with well priced delicious cocktails and a lovely ambience. Service was really good.

The bar and restaurant was really well priced for good quality food and we ate lunch there several days. It is nice to eat in other places but we did find they were often more expensive for less good food when we did.

The hotel is ideally situated for the port, the pine walks, and the bus and taxi ranks to get into Pollensa old town.
Hope to return as soon as we can. Anywhere else would just not be the Miramar. We loved it.

After staying in this hotel for our 10th time, we can confirm we absolutely love this hotel. The staff are extremely hard working & provide an excellent service with friendly smiles & a good sense of humour. The view is absolutely stunning & draws return visits from many of the guests. The original part is quintessentially Spanish & rooms are maintained to a very high standard, some with sea views have terrace balconies with sun beds, others table & chairs. The newer part-The Tower has 6 floors all with balconies & the gorgeous views over the sweeping bay. The buffet breakfast is superb, supplying everything you can possibly think of including cooked to order omelettes/eggs how you like them. Even a fresh honeycomb, which is amazing! Allergies are taken seriously & well catered for. It is perfectly placed for local bus services to take you to Old town Pollensa & Alcudia, both with busy weekly markets to explore. There are numerous bays for day trips. A glass bottomed boat takes you across the bay to Formentor daily. Lovely little sandy beaches as well as wide expanses of sand with kayaks, boats, jet skis for hire are available. Excellent cafes & restaurants around the square serve varied & great quality food with friendly service. Booking is advised to ensure you get what you want. This spa hotel also has its own pool with sun beds around the spa area & a private beach with sun beds on the sea front with a bar serving cocktails. It’s situated on the pine walk, which meanders all the way around the bay.

We have visited Port de Pollença many times; this was our first stay at the Miramar but it will not be our last. We stayed for 6 nights while meeting up with old friends. The hotel had reopened only a few days before our arrival and we received a lovely warm welcome from Gabriel, the Manager, who took our cases and escorted us to our third floor sea view room and described its features.

The room was well appointed and the twin beds were very comfortable. We had two small armchairs and a coffee table in the room and two more on the balcony. The air conditioning was easy to control and was very effective. The bathroom had an excellent shower and hot water was always available. Towels were a good size and we took advantage of the free bathrobes available at reception from where beach towels could also be obtained. Wardrobe space was good and plenty hangers were provided. Within the wardrobe was a room safe at ~ 2€ per day. The room had a kettle but, unusually, tea and coffee were not replaced after the first day. The fridge within the dressing table could hold a bottle of wine and a good few beers ready for relaxing on the balcony.

Breakfast was buffet style with a wide range of both hot and cold choices; we have stayed at 2 other sea front hotels and honestly say that the Miramar breakfast was the best. Our only slight criticism of breakfast was that on a couple of occasions the orange juice was not topped up quickly enough and on one morning the cold buffet selection was low. One nice feature of breakfast is the opportunity to eat at one of the many tables on the large terrace in front of the hotel.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Miramar and look forward tour return in September. Thank you Gabriel and all your lovely staff.

The Miramar does not usually see children outside of school holidays, when we go, However, it's a very friendly inclusive hotel. So I think it depends on the child as he will not find any others of similar age to make friends with so he could feel a bit out of it, but Puerto Pollensa is a bit like that, Oldies & babies, but lovely for adults. You cannot fault the hotel ... it's been family run for about a century !
