Really very surprised at how good the Hotel was. Usual carry on at check in with keys not working, receptionist even came to room let us in and went off to sort it out, could not ask for more. Room 205 looks a bit like a Travelodge room with a hint of brothel.... definitely get rid of the veil and the heart shaped pillows... TACKY. once you sat and saw past that meaningless trim the room was large, well serviced, nice Juliet balcony lovely bathroom night light (why don't all hotels do this). Jacuzzi was outstanding shame no jacuzzi bath salts, will bring them next time. FOOD, such a surprise good honest food prepared with skill and a lot of heart, thank you kitchen! I am on a special diet for my cancer and managed to work round the menu with the help of the kitchen, again thank you. Breakfast, I can always tell how good the breakfast will be with a bite of a sausage, quality ingredients just lovely set us up for another 7 hour drive. Please stir the juices in the morning and its worth knowing the water jugs need washing out between the use in the function room and then run the tap a bit, the smell of chlorine was over powering. All and all a great wee find will use this hotel on our future trips south. Again thank you. what a nice place with great staff, you can feel the customer is wanted here.

Just spent three nights, our second visit and would happily stay again. Plenty of free parking, free internet, good food freshly prepared and very friendly and helpful staff. The location is just on the outskirts of town and about five mins from the M5.
The rooms are a good size, kept very clean and the bathroom comes with a really good power shower. The only criticism I could make is that the rooms are heated with electric wall heaters which are not that easy to program to a comfortable setting. The Hotel enjoys a very quiet spot, well back from a “B” road. The restaurant and bar are integral to the lobby separated by moveable planters and perhaps reflects the current liking for “open plan “ in our dwellings !

Only stayed one night but had the best stay! We took our German Shepherd dog with us and we were made very welcome! The room was lovely and spotless clean, warm and had everything you could possibly need. There was even a doggy pack consisting of a pet blanket, poo bags, a feeding mat and a bowl. It was much appreciated though we had our own bowl and bed! We also liked that the dog friendly rooms are on the ground floor it’s such a help! In the evening we dined and the food was excellent and good value for money, added bonus was that our dog was able to sit with us for the meal in a dedicated space! Breakfast was really good and there was plenty of it, lots of choice and again dog welcome! Well done Padsbrook for recognising that dogs are part of the family too! The staff here were very friendly, helpful and nice, nothing was too much trouble. There is also a large free car park. Would highly recommend whether you’re on your own or travelling with a dog, you won’t be disappointed! 5*

We booked the hotel for a family wedding wedding , we paid extra for an early check in as the wedding was the same time as normal check in , my daughters family room was not ready and when I suggested they were given another room to get changed into it was refused, we were given £15 refund , the money paid for early check in . My daughter was woken in the morning by the cleaners having a discussion about shifts outside her bedroom door , then speaking to someone in loudspeaker on their phone . My daughter in law was also woken during the night by doors slamming and someone crying in the corridor . Breakfast was appalling , greasy bacon , eggs swimming in fat , dried up sausage and no plates . When we asked for plates ( for toast ) the plates were smeared in grease or jam and had to be returned , we had to ask for coffee/tea several times before being served . I wrote in to ask for a further refund as we were late for the wedding , missed lunch , no shower all due to trying to help my daughter and children who didn’t get into her room till 12.45 , the wedding was at 2 .The response was unbelievable , they said I refused. to have use of another room , not true and my daughters room was only 25 mins late again not true . Breakfast plates were dirty and food past it’s best as they were busy , and no refund or compassion .
Do not book this hotel as it has staff / management that lie , no compassion or empathy , appalling customer service and food that left a lot to be desired

I don’t think that we have ever stayed at a hotel where we were almost the only guests !! Eerily quiet but that didn’t take away the fact we had a very nice stay. The assistant manager Sarah was very helpful and gave us advice on areas to visit as we are looking at moving to the area or nearby Somerset, the waitress who served us dinner ( so sorry I didn’t catch her name ) who was very friendly plus the dinner was excellent, all in all we had a great stay at this hotel, the breakfast was very good indeed and all for a very reasonable price. We would definitely stay here again and can highly recommend it

We went on a last minute long weekend away and stayed at Padbrook hotel. It’s a short drive from Exmouth beach and Sidmouth bay which are both great for kids. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The outdoor area is lovely for sunny breakfasts or dinner. Our room was on the ground floor and had a little table and chairs outside, which was brilliant for when our toddler went to sleep as we could have Prosecco in the evening sun while keeping an eye on him. Our son is also very fussy and the staff were really easy going about making him something different to eat. Breakfast was great value and all food tasted lovely. The room was large and clean. We will definitely stay again.

Well I chose this hotel for its location as I was attending an event at Cullompton Rugby Club the following day, luckily others attending the event had booked in too so it made it an even better night. I’ll be honest I didn’t expect anything special I never do from hotels these days but I was wrong as the service & friendliness from the staff was proper hospitality & it gets better, they had an excellent choice of beer & cider on draught with Proper Job which just made it for me & then it got even better still, for convenience we stayed in the hotel to eat & I am so glad we did, I’ve been to some restaurants or pubs that are owned by famous chefs & believe me Ripley’s topped them all ! The evening meal was excellent, I had the pork loin for my main & it was just so special but I also had fish & chip envy with others on my table as they looked absolutely amazing but I was still highly satisfied what I had. I decided to be a good boy & not have a sweet & when I saw what some of the others had got I had made a mistake as the sweets looked beautiful & a good & proper size/amount. The place was very clean & the bed was really comfortable with a good nights sleep as the location makes this hotel really peaceful at night. I had an upgrade room with a Juliet balcony which was really good value as it had the jacuzzi bath, didn’t have time to use it but for the price it was good. Also a shower that actually showers you, in my view a little too much water than what you need but I’m certainly not complaining about it. If you are looking to stay in this area you can’t go wrong with Padbrook Park Hotel, I highly recommend it !

We stayed four nights and were upgraded to a superior room, although the standard was nice too. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. The water pressure was great, which meant the shower was powerful. The heat was good too. We had two evening meals - Fish and chips and roast salmon salad both nights. Very good value, really well presented and tasty. The mattresses were good quality but too firm for our taste. The staff were all polite, friendly and laid back. Very happy with our stay

We stayed at the Hotel for 1 night after an exhausting trip from Germany.
The staff could not have been more helpful and even came out to the car park to show us the best place to park our large 4x4 and long trailer.
The hotel was spotless. The evening meal and breakfast were very good indeed.
The strict attention to Covid rules was very comforting and we felt safe.
There is plenty of outside space for families with children and very close to the M5. Will definitely stay again.

I’m sat in the reception right now as there last customer before this second lockdown and just met the owners. Really nice people and hotel. The food needs a shout out as well because that is really well priced and to a very high standard, some of the best chips I have ever had! 5min walk into town as well!

Room was spot on, hot shower and comfortable bed. If I’m working back down here I will be back.
