This is a private well run small hotel in its own grounds which are beautifully landscaped to make this a quiet peaceful location. The local beach is easily accessible, just ask the staff for the choice of ways to get there. All of the staff are extremely polite and courteous, with a special thanks to Jason who made our evenings at the bar a ‘voyage’ of discovery as we sampled some beautiful cocktails, also the reception and breakfast ladies are a joy. It was a pleasure to meet the owner Barry and his family and they can be assured their facilities are a hidden gem for this area.

We loved our 5 days stay at golden palm resort in Alona, food was excellent, room was huge and really neat, shower and bathroom were great, staff were fabulous and helped us with our trips around the city. It was flawless and we highly recommend this hotel. It is 3-4min walk from the Alona Beach front.

I recommend taking 25mjn tri cycle trip to Damulauan beach which is much quieter and cleaner and better from all perspective..

Cheers

It is a 10 min walk from Alona beach but you get value for money. Rent a bike 500 pesos per day if you dont like to walk.
Owned by british / filippion couple, very nice staff also. Good food. The pool was just outside my hotel door. Its like a park there, beautiful flowers and a garden that is taken good care of. Also - here you are not disturbed by the noise from Alona beach at night. Absolutely recommended!
Advice to owner: do not the dogs that is aggressive walk around. Some visitors may feel uncomfortable and I was bitten even it was not a serious bite

This place is well located, just back from the beach. It has beautiful gardens and a couple of nice pools.

This appears to be the home of the owners and the “resort” coexists (poorly) around them. We tried to have dinner at the “restaurant “ twice but were turned away because the “kitchen was closed”… despite the fact that the owners were entertaining a group of friends over what looked to be a lovely meal…bad luck for the paying guests. This was fairly typical of the entire stay…just about everything seemed to be a chore and you were made to feel like a burden. The owners basically ignore the guests and the staff are not overly concerned about your experience either. The priority at this place is the comfort of the owners and tending to the garden. We had to ask three times over three separate days to have the room cleaned (it was cleaned twice in a 7 day stay).

After we checked out of here we checked in next door to the Best Western Ivy Wall which was outstanding… and CHEAPER than this place. Just give it a miss and choose a professionally managed venue. The owners of this place are just not interested in you.

Super polite staff, close to the centre, beautiful garden perfect for relaxation as located in quiet corner of the town. Very tasty breakfast.
On the other side: noise in the room, constant hume of some machine and running water from higher level in the middle of the night. Terrible smell from waste water system, hard to get rid of. Mould almost everywhere, on the curtains, walls, ceiling. Swimming pools too deep for someone who can't swimm :(

The reception staff were very helpful and pleasant. They arranged a tricycle driver to take us on the countryside tour. We also appreciated the breakfast staff preparing a takeaway version, bacon and scrambled egg sandwiches, when we had a very early morning start for the island hopping tour.

One slight issue we found on entering our room for the first time was there were no towels and a unclean sink but this was not a major and quickly addressed when we pointed it out.

The landscape and gardens were immaculate and serene. It was interesting to see a collection of bonsai trees there, which I assume are a passion of the owner and there was also a display of shells in the waiting area to look at.

There is a nice and deep pool just out front of the accomodation building. This is aside from the main pool area, which appeared very nice but we didn’t get around to using.

There is a bit of a walk to get to the main beach area with no short cut through that I’m aware of. The positive side is that it feels detached from the throng. The driveway which is shared with other nearby hotels is in quite a bad state, I’m not sure why no-one is fixing that up, perhaps everyone considers it to be someone else’s responsibility.

All in all it’s a beautiful and serene resort with great staff for a very reasonable price and I would absolutely recommend it to someone looking for accommodation near Alona Beach.

The Golden Palm Resort in Panglao offers a fantastic location, just a short stroll from the beach and conveniently close to local amenities. The staff were not only friendly but incredibly attentive, ensuring a wonderful experience throughout our stay. Celebrating Christmas Eve at the resort was a highlight—an authentic Filipino celebration featuring a full buffet and live music created a fabulous evening. The food was exceptional, making it our best meal in the Philippines thus far. The overall experience left us feeling warmly welcomed and thoroughly satisfied.

The Golden Palm Resort's charm extends beyond its amenities and service; the beautifully maintained garden and picturesque surroundings elevate the entire experience. The serene and well-kept garden adds an extra layer of beauty, making the stay truly enchanting and immersive, creating a serene ambiance for a memorable getaway.

Only a 5 minute walk from the busy vibe of Alona beach, this place is a beautiful oasis. Rooms are large, clean and very comfortable and the outside space is amazing. Beautiful setting, like your own private garden.
Staff are very polite, friendly and helpful, especially Jane at breakfast and reception, Jason on the bar and Naline. We have so enjoyed our stay here.

The large pool was great very clean with a pool bar with great bar staff. The breakfast area was very pretty with a very nice breakfast choice.
