Thank for your review you are very kind. We are very concious of allergens and gluten free food and have made some changes to the recipes to ensure gluten free food is available including BBQ sauce and white sauce made to order using rice or cornflour. I have passed your comments onto the kitchen staff as they are the ones who make the efforts. Kind regards peter J Adams

Thank you for your review which we appreciate very much. I note your kind comments on the rooms and facilities Thank you. In relation to smoking. We are a non smoking Inn and there is no smoking in any of our rooms as I pointed out to you. However there is also private accommodation upstairs where I live, and this may have been a contributory factor to the smoke smell you mention. In relation to the bar being shut as I explained to your party at breakfast there was no one in the bar or lounge at 9:30-45 so we closed, had we known your intention to return, we could have and would have stayed open, which we did on the next evening because your party were all here until 11 pm so to say it was a let down is a little unfair.

Booked last minute to stay over new year but didn’t realise there would be a party. Telephone call from Peter asking if we would like to attend. Two course meal, comedian and singer. Beef dinner very tasty, comedian fantastic (couldn’t stop laughing), singer(s) amazing. Perfect

It started by no confirmation email about our stay and ended with a food bill for as much as the hotel stay was... in between all this, the staff were grumpy. The beer selection was poor, the food was all salt! The tv didn’t work, I had to stop a fight out side our room, to

Hi and thanks for taking the time to review we do appreciate it. I would also ask that anyone reading this read through both the review and my reply in full. All our online bookings are sent a confirmation email automatically but as I understand you booked directly with us, and would have been asked on booking if you require a confirmation email, the person who made the booking possibly declined that service, which is why you may not have had one. I do not believe the staff are grumpy as you suggest, they have a lot of personality and are, I believe courteous at all times in their approach to customers. In relation to the beer selection we choose by preference to stock only British beers, Lagers and ciders instead of imported beers, with 2 ciders on draught, and 3 bottled ciders, 3 draught cask beers, 2 craft ales and 3 cold lager style beers, and all British. that's quite a varied choice really. I am sorry if we did not satisfy your palate. You actually made us aware of the TV issue the next morning on checkout , but you also suggested that you had fixed it, as it was a cable out of the back of the TV. I am not aware of any fighting as you have suggested, in any of our rooms that night, some residents returned late and having had drinks elsewhere, but no fighting, we would not tolerate that kind of behaviour . In relation to our food offering and your comment on being all salt, on checking, one of your meals ordered was our Chicken Romano, which is made with an unseasoned chicken fillet served with a topping of a creamy garlic sauce mixed with smoked bacon. No salt is added to this, but there is a natural saltiness to smoky bacon and then mixed with garlic sauce may give the taste you describe, and may not be to your taste, but we do sell a lot of it with very little complaint. it is in fact one of our best selling meals. In relation to your stay comparing us to a Hotel and Spa in Cardiff is not really justified, We are an AA 3 star Inn, in West wales with 6 rooms one of our rooms is a multi function room, which is where you stayed, it has a double bed and a single bed, central heating, towels and toiletries, and an electric shower, a TV with Sky TV and Sky movies tea and coffee and kettle. and we charge for a double or twin £70 per night this time of year. for a family £90 per night, including bed and breakfast, which is commensurate with other establishments in our area. we however do not have a spa at present. so to compare us with a hotel suite is as I said earlier not really appropriate as a comparison. Finally your last paragraph says we refused you breakfast and also refused you a refund. On the morning of checkout you came down for breakfast at 9:55 the previous evening you were asked what time you required breakfast which on a Sunday is between 8:30 and 9:30 am. you chose the 9:30 slot. but actually came down at 9:55 am breakfast had finished and had been cleared away. I understand you became very verbal with my chef, who then called me to talk to you. On arrival I asked you to sit and discuss with me your issues. to which you pointed out several including the TV but your main issue was missing breakfast and suggesting that you came down at 9:35 just after breakfast finishing time. I explained why on Sunday it is quite strict as we go on to prepare for a busy Sunday lunch, I also then agreed to refund your breakfast cost with out checking times first. and you were refunded £15 by card. so your last statement in the review, is not factually correct ?. I then decided to investigate this further as is part of our customer service guidelines. and on checking, find that you made up the time you suggested you came for breakfast, as on CCTV you actually came in at 9:55 but actually told me it was 9:35 and I believed you, and refunded you £15 as a gesture of good faith. all I will say is you enhanced the truth to take advantage what else is enhanced. Merry Christmas Peter Adams FBII Hotel Owner

Hi we are part of the Brit Stops network and we do take motor homes. and dogs are allowed to come with you. however we do not allow dogs into the pub sorry. we do not normally charge for an overnight stay, as it customary for Brit Stoppers to use the pub and restaurant, but you must call us to book in and you must be a member of Brit Stops.
