A lovely hideaway in the middle of the Devonshire estate. Great for walks, sightseeing, that special weekend away or fine dining. We could not fault the staff. Even when our dog managed to cause chaos at the dog sitting service, the staff pulled out all the stops to ensure our fine dining experience was not spoiled. The fine dining was...

A two night Devonshire Experience with dinner with planned one night extension, having stayed here happily on numerous occasions over the years we eagerly anticipated our relaxing winter break. Greeted by very friendly staff who introduced us to the hotel and its facilities, shown to our room The Artists Room, which after settling in became clear the room was not...

This is the perfect hotel for the Yorkshire Dales. Very friendly and genuine staff, lots of personal touches (like bringing warm cake and lip balm to your room after you arrive - both for no extra charge and perfect for a January stay), log fires, cosy armchairs, great food and wine, excellent wheelchair accessible room, complete silence all night, and...

It lives up to its reputation as a Country house hotel with a warm Yorkshire welcome and roaring fires. The welcome Parkin was appreciated and delicious.Room was comfortable and Breakfast excellent The brasserie service however was a bit rushed with our mains arriving before we had finished our bread...

Booked this as a gift for my daughters 21st birthday, booked an overnight stay with spa treatments the 2 days we were there. I paid extra for the upgrade to a delux room. Our hotel room was a disappointment, it looked just a little grubby, the carpet could have done with a clean, the tiles around the shower were starting...

The hotel is by far the nicest in the area and surrounding areas. So lovely at Christmas too with a real get away from...

We stayed here for Christmas last year and returned as it is top quality and very dog friendly. I think there were 38 rooms and 16 well behaved dogs. The service, ambiance, food quality and organisatio was superb. Sadly next year we are going to be at home with relies but we really couldn't recommend the experience enough.

Well upon arrival we discovered that it was a Sunday Lunch Menu, big mistake for our Post Christmas Diets. We sat down and checked the menu, during this time our drinks order was taken and delivered, after a little while our food order was taken. Upon arrival all the food looked and tasted brilliant, all courses were well presented and...
