I stayed at The Oystercatcher B&B for two nights with my partner in July 2021. We booked online through their website. We were greeted and instantly made to feel welcomed by our hosts Paul and Debbie. The B&B is spotless, bright and the rooms are beautifully decorated to a high finish. Local artist Adrian Granger creates beautiful colourful aquatic/sea life pieces for the B&B which decorate the communal areas and bedrooms (these are also available to purchase if one takes your fancy).

Paul makes the most incredible breakfast! He’s passionate and knowledgable about using, and supporting, local Cornish suppliers and produce - which he demonstrates through a delicious menu selection. By far the best breakfast I have ever eaten!

Paul and Debbie great hosts with extensive knowledge of Cornwall and will happily suggest places to eat, areas to visit, activities and hidden gems.

I would absolutely recommend The Oystercatcher. It’s location is perfect for taking day trips, nipping into St Ives or simply walking down the road to the beautiful Carbis Bay located minutes away. We were sad to be checking out but have already planned our next visit and cannot wait to return.

Thank you to Paul & Debbie for making us feel so welcome and looked after, we shall see you again very soon.

Sasha, Bolton

Me and my partner booked direct with Oystercatcher and we are so glad we did. It was our first time to Cornwall so we really had no idea what to expect.

Paul and Deborah were fantastic hosts, very accommodating and greeted us every morning with a delicious breakfast whilst offering us lots of helpful tips and advice about the area and tourist must see spots!

We booked the sea view room which was definitely worth it to wake up every morning to that stunning view. The breakfasts were fantastic, Paul and Deborah were very happy to accommodate to any dietary requirements. The location itself is great, situated in Carbis Bay just off St Ives which is around a 20 min walk or you can catch the train or bus both very handy/close by and reasonably priced too.

It was our first trip to Cornwall but it won’t be our last, I’d definitely recommend booking with Oystercatcher, we will certainly be returning!

We stayed at this B&B for 4 nights in early July and everything was just perfect from the clean room to the fantastic breakfast they serve.
Parking is available on their drive and it is an easy walk into St.ives either by road or the stunning coastal path.
Paul and Deborah were both friendly and helpful with suggestions for daytrips in the local area.
Would stay there again if we ever visit the area again.

We stayed at The Oystercatcher B&B for 4 nights in July 2021. The hosts Paul and Deborah, instantly made us feel welcome and looked after on arrival, and this continued throughout our stay.
They are both very knowledgeable about the local area and its history and will suggest places to visit, coastal walks and good local restaurants.

The B&B is in a good location for exploring St Ives, and the surrounding areas. If you don't wish to drive you can easily pick up the 'Coaster 'open top bus service to explore as far as Lands End!

Our room was finished to a high standard, very clean and well equipped with a good variety tea and coffee and access to Netflix too. There are a variety of choices for breakfast which is made from good quality local produce so there is something for any taste. This is expertly prepared by Paul and was a good start to the day along with our chats in the morning!

I would definitely recommend the Oystercatcher to anyone wanting to stay in the area, hopefully we will visit again in the future.

We spent five nights at the Oystercatcher and wished we could have stayed longer. Cosy, quiet, comfortable and tastefully decorated room overlooking the garden. Thoughtful little touches such as fresh milk for your organic tea selection instead of the plastic UHT pods. Paul and Deb spare no effort to make the place inviting and comfortable! You don’t just have a clean room to go back to during your holiday-you feel looked after which has absolutely exceeded our expectations! Breakfasts are to die for- Paul was a professional chef and uses top quality ingredients. The owners go the extra mile-before our arrival by train Deb emailed us lots of tips that would make our journey and holiday hassle free. The house is in Carbis Bay which is quieter than St Ives but within a comfortable walking distance (or 6 minutes on a bus from the town centre) so it’s perfect if you don’t want a constant noise of other holidaymakers outside your window. We have such fond memories of the Oystercatcher and would highly recommend it to friends and family. Will definitely stay with Paul and Deborah when we visit Cornwall again!

From our early arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome. We were two hours early but this wasn’t an issue, rather than trying to take money as soon as we arrived we were told to put our bags down and relax whilst given some local Information. When heading up to the room we were greeted by a great room, well kept, superbly clean with a lovely view.

Even a full box of shortbread for the stay 😍

Nothing was too much for Deborah and Paul, on the first morning we were asked what we would like and even more so asked how we liked it. The breakfast was served to such a high standard, presentation, quality and with great courtesy.... the quality of food was top notch and cooked with love.

The hosts were more than happy to chat and share local information and knowledge that made our stay well worth while. If I could give any negatives it would be that we didn’t stay long enough.

Please please stay here......

This was our first time staying in a B&B and we couldn’t fault it! Paul & Deborah were excellent hosts, who were very caring, nothing was too much trouble and created a relaxed, inviting atmosphere. They had lots of local knowledge, which was very helpful as this was our first time staying in Cornwall. They are also very well travelled and can recommend you other places around the UK and Europe. Our room and the house were both spotless and looked lovely, it was newly furnished and well kept. The breakfast was superb! Paul’s skills as a chef shows in his delicious breakfast’s with locally sourced produce and generous portions, he does the nicest french toast too! :) If you like to surf, Paul can recommend the best spots in Cornwall, as he’s been surfing a long time. We can’t wait to come back and stay again next year!

I stayed at the Oystercatcher for five nights in June 2021 and it was by far, the best B&B experience I could have ever have asked for. From the very moment I stepped in, Deborah and Paul made every effort to ensure I was comfortable and they were very helpful in making sure the room contained useful guidance handouts on nearby attractions and restaurant recommendations, which was hugely useful.
The room was very clean, with a spacious bathroom and even had Netflix available to watch on the TV - which was a bonus!
What made this place so warm and inviting were Deborah and Paul themselves. They're such welcoming hosts who really take the time to get to know what you want to explore and suggest helpful tips and recommendations while doing so. The cooked breakfast every morning was also incredible, all delicious and cooked to order (and perfection). Oystercatcher is honestly the warmest and friendliest place I've ever stayed and will definitely be returning on my next visit to St Ives and Carbis Bay.

Deborah and Paul are exceptional hosts, so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. This is our second stay at Oystercatcher (5 nights this time) and it won't be our last (hopefully with all that is going on in the world!). We were in the master bedroom which is the largest with a bay window and comfy armchairs affording stunning views over Carbis Bay. The room was spacious and the bed clean and comfortable, en-suite bathroom with both jacuzzi bath and shower cubicle was excellent. Breakfast was wonderful, so many choices from locally sourced top quality produce, prepared and presented superbly. I would not hesitate in recommending a stay at Oystercatcher to anyone.
