Mount Douglas Farm is a gorgeous campsite located within a 15 min walk to the STUNNING beach which is Carbis Bay (photos attached). The campsite is very basic (which was the beauty for us). Small children would need to entertain themselves as there are no facilities on site for them. But there is plenty of woodland walks literally on top of you and of course a beach really close by. We had a non-electric hook up tent, so we charged our phones in one of the sites cabins which was really safe. In that same cabin it held a huge double Fridge where you could store your food. And a large freezer as well. Either side of this cabin were showers and toilets. Separate men’s & women’s of course. Both kept really clean. All water on site was drinking water too. And plenty of kitchen points to wash dishes etc.
You can hire a fire burner for £10 for the week & the owner Phil will drop off extra logs for you which was a nice touch.
The campsite had plenty of social distancing between the tents and vans & it had a really calm relaxing feel to it the whole week. Would definitely recommend.

This campsite is in a great location for walking to Carbis Bay & getting access into St Ives. The pitches are a good size, electric hook ups available at a reasonable rate, the facilities are kept clean and located in a nice block. The people who run the campsite are extremely friendly and welcoming to the guests. Really useful that they have a fixed price list for a local taxi firm to certain places as well.

I was impressed with how reasonable it was and would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here with family for a week, the site wasn’t too crowded, social distancing was enforced well, toilets and shower blocks were much cleaner than some of the bigger sites we’d been to in Cornwall. The beach is around a 15-20 min walk, and there’s a cost cutter and large Tesco close by too.

Would 100% stay here again! Phil and the team were great and looked after us. The ability to hire fire pits and benches was really good too!

Lovely campsite in a perfect location for easy access to Carbis Bay beach, St Ives and most other places you may wish to visit in west Cornwall. Facilities at the site for showers, toilets and washing-up are more than adequate but be prepared to wait for shower at busy times as there are only 3 cubicles each. Definitely recommend this site with good sized pitches and friendly owner.

We all loved it here! It has everything you need.
Clean and hot showers, clean well maintained toilets. Fridge, freezer, washer and dryer all available to use.

Big spacious pitch with electric hook ups available. Dog friendly. We rented a fire pit with a big bag of wood and kindling for less than a tenner.

Farmer Phil came around a couple of times checking everyone was ok which was a lovely thing to do. He is a foundation of knowledge and couldn't be more helpful!

The location was perfect for us we walked into carbis bay to the beach and took the costal path into st ives and also drove to penzance, mousehole, Hyle for adventures.
We would definitely come again much better than other sites that you pay 3x the price for.

Reasonably priced large pitches, toilets, showers, washing up facilites, large shared fridges and washing machines in a lovely setting. Bus stop for travel into St Ives or Pennzance just down the road. Within walking distance of the beach at Carbis Bay but you do need to be fit as the road down to the beach is long and steep.

Basic amenities but perfect for us and provides everything you need for a relaxed stay with no heirs & graces - toasting marshmallows, baked potatoes in the campfire, bbq’s, good old fashioned camping how it should be!
Shower cubicles were lovely and clean. As were the separate bathrooms. A place for you to charge phones alongside huge fridges to store your food and a large freezer as well. There is a communal pot wash up area inside 2 sinks undercover and two outside, both with running hot and cold water.

The owner Phil is a relaxed host providing friendly chat and advice about the local area and is always on hand if needed. Carbis bay is just beautiful, as is the surrounding area and it is within walking distance to St Ives which is also stunning. A coastal walk at Lands end, the Minack Theatre & stunning Porthcurno beach, the surf at Perranporth, the quaint villages of Mousehole & St Agnes, St Michaels Mount & the breathtaking Kynance Cove are all with 45 mins drive making it the perfect location.

If you want a good, no frills campsite then this could be for you. OK it's fairly basic but if it's luxury you want, pay more, go somewhere else.

Very disappointed in the way the owner Phil has dealt with my enquiry in regards to a booking request submitted weeks and weeks ago. I constantly had to chase Phil to receive an update on my booking and getting hold of him via phone is another story. He finally came back to me with confirmation on the dates I had submitted, straight away I had came back to him via email to ask if I could change the dates by a day. I tried calling numerous times and emailing to try and confirm and had no answer, if this was a problem I would of booked the original dates I had submitted. After not hearing from Phil he then came back to me 3 days later to confirm the site was fully booked which was really disappointing. I’ve tried contacting him since and with no surprise I have had no answer from him. My point here is, if you want a straight forward booking with confirmation of your stay seek to book somewhere else, I’ve done nothing but chase on numerous occasions over the last 3-4 weeks.

If you read another review written by somebody else, the lady echo’s the same point I have today, unfortunately for her she had her booking confirmed and after a 6 hour drive and arrival at the campsite was told they had no more space even though she’d had her booking confirmed.

PLEASE avoid and seek somewhere else to stay... It’s not worth all the hassle!

We stayed here after leaving Perran Sands due to how busy it was. Lovely little site with electric hook up, warm showers, toilets and washing facilities. We took the kids who had fun running around and looking at the animals on the farm (from a distance). We hired a fire pit and wood which was great. It's a little slopey in place so try and find a flat pitch if you can. Really close to Carbis beach as well, walkable in 15 minutes, drive in 5 but parking is expensive. Would definitely go again!

A really nice family run camp site in a great location in carbis bay near St Ives.
Can't fault this place, its a little gem ,we stayed for a week and found it to have very good facilities in regards to toilets and showers and the site is kept in good order.
The owner Phil is a great guy and will do anything to help if you need it, the location is perfect with a bus stop just a 5 minute walk away and a restaurant again just 5 minutes away.
The site attracts decent people and was quiet after 9pm so no trouble sleeping.
Electric hook ups , washing machines, fridges and freezers available to use free of charge.
I would highly recommend this site.
