This location of this lovely hotel is the first thing that any review would normally start with.....but our impressions are the lovely staff..everyone we encountered and talked to were friendly and helpful and professional. We stayed in room 301 for one night..a lovely spacious room with a balcony and sea view. From where we spotted seals. We ate in the Beach restaurant which again the staff and the food was lovely. We took the train from Carbis bay into St ives which at this time of the year is nice and quiet. We will be revisiting as we had such a lovely stay.

Hotel's Favourite
What a journey it has been. Carbis bay estate is incredible, from the very first meeting with Nicole way before the pandemic up until getting married there in July. We have experienced just about every part of the estate. So where do we start with a review… well. Let’s start with the people, after all whilst you may go there for the incredible views, facilities and amenities the team are what truly makes it. Carbis bay clearly loves its people, staff and visitors, the staff ooze customer service. They very much became part of our wedding day after so many previous visits and meetings. Thankyou to the events team. Nicole what you have built up here is a true testament to your fun, humble and personable approach, you have a team which serves the hotel and its people with pride. Thankyou to ria, Sofia and Maxine and all the other members of your team who were all part of making our day and each visit brilliant. Thankyou to the beach club staff who hosted our wedding and did such an immense job! Everyone had a fantastic day and despite the rain you made it look effortless. Thankyou to Georgiana you and your team always make us and everyone feel so welcome. The chefs on the day of our wedding really did put on a show. Our guests could not believe the quality of the food on our wedding day, and they were certainly not left hungry. The food was fresh, tasty and unique. We had ice creams as our canapés, the venue offered us 4 flavours for the day from a vast array of choice (this did take a lot of discussion) Then we had for our wedding breakfast an afternoon tea with a Cornish twist. So we had sandwiches to start with crab being a special mention. Then we had some very tasty Cornish pasties, followed by more cakes than anyone could believe and the most amazing Eton mess in jars, cream teas, brownies and more. Then in the evening we had a bbq, with burgers, sausages, garlic prawns, pork oh and some hallowing along side a vast selection of accompaniments, pasta, coleslaws etc, the chefs kept cooking, all fresh as guest wanted it. Thankyou so much! You guys in the kitchen worked so hard and deserve a special mention. Next the venue. Don’t come here unless you want incredible views whatever the weather, a beautiful beach, great facilities a luxurious spa and treatment, some of the most amazing food you can imagine and generally a brilliant stay whether it be for a day or a stay :). You have multiple options for food, whether this be a cheeky ice cream down by the beach, a luxurious beach picnic, or maybe just a coffee. Oh wait… that is not it… level up… you can then eat at one of four restaurants… all offering something unique. Let’s just say you’ve just come out of the most relaxing Bamford spa lava shell massage treatment, (more on the spa later) you’ve had a pornstar by the pool and you’re feeling a little peckish. But hang on… you don’t want to move far. Well try the food from the orangery, classic options, from a burger to fish and chips or maybe a quality sandwich. Nice. Maybe you fancy something by the beach, as close as you can get lunch, dinner or in between; well the beach club has you sorted. One of the amazing team will serve you anything from crab linguine, fish curry, to pizzas and steak. You’re sure to find something to tickle the tastebuds here. Enjoy. Next… maybe you want something a little more moody… you know… date night, set the tone, couple of cocktails from the bar, good background music, fantastic atmosphere and then again some fantastic food, you really can’t go wrong. Oh and another sea view… something you just can’t get bored of. Okay so you’re a fancy foodie, you want an experience. You want to take it steady, enjoying courses with a theme and pizazz. Well we can’t speak for this one but the ugly butterfly is for you. Again another incredible view. Attached to the ugly butterfly is a really cool lounge bar where you can enjoy a nice drink and chill overlooking the beach and sea. A great spot for a pre or after dinner drink. Oh wait. I forgot… the orangery also has a cool bar area where you can also sit and enjoy cheeky beverage whilst, (if your lucky) you might catch a pianist at the grand piano entertaining guests with their talents. So… breakfast I hear you screaming… you are staying over and want to know if this will be any good. Well I can promise you it is. Breakfast is set up in the main house at the orangery. Here you will be offered a choice from the menu, toasts and jams, fruit and yoghurt and pastries. The full English is a great compliment to this. Wash this down with a tea, coffee, juices, or smoothies. A great start for the day. Do not miss. next… What is it like to stay here. Well are you looking for multiple options to suit a variety of budgets, all of which come with the same great service, accessibility to facilities and don’t forget the location. We have stayed in a variety of the properties in the past few years… So We will start with the most affordable. A room in the main house. Let’s just say these rooms are not to be missed for an affordable option to enjoy the hotel. They come with plenty of luxuries, well appointed en-suites, with Bamford toiletries and rainfall showers. Comfy beds and the mod cons you would expect and a little more. Each room, lodge or house on the estate has its own tablet. From this you can order anything from room service, book a treatment, or browse the facilities on the estate. Next, we have stayed in one of the cottages, what a treat. A great option for families, park up with your own parking spot and enjoy Carbis bay at your own pace. You don’t even need to go down for breakfast as they will bring you a breakfast hamper at request to your cottage. (although we would still visit the orangery for breakfast one day) Then we have all the way up the scale stayed in one of the luxury beach lodges. Now this is an exceptionally luxurious treat. 3 floors of your own slice of paradise for your stay. A private hot tub and terrace on the top floor, three perfect bedrooms on the middle , the master with balcony sea views, an en-suite which can only be described as a dream and then down to a large living space on the ground floor with its own private garden and access to the beach. It’s so good you won’t want to leave. You can pop on your fluffy dressing gown and float between sipping a glass of champagne in your hot tub, to chilling on a lounger down in the gardens. You really are spoilt here, and could easily spend your time enjoying your own space. Oh wait the accommodation also comes with a team of concierge dedicated to the lodges who offer a brilliant service. They will look after you during your stay, handle reservations, deliver your breakfast hampers and generally offer a fantastic personable service. They may even bring you some little treats during your stay, we arrived to a delicious lemon drizzle cake, champagne, fresh milk and bread. They also brought us some delicious canapés one day. So with all of this you may be tempted to stay put, however you really should head off and enjoy everything else the setting has to offer. Let’s not forget to mention the spa… I did promise this after all. The spa is a perfect retreat, whether you want to lounge around the pool, sweat it out in sauna or have a cocktail in the hot tub. Then there’s the treatments, where you can select from a range of options. We went for a couples experience a couple of days before our wedding, wellness by the ocean was what we chose. The spa uses all Bamford products and provides a level of professionalism and relaxation which left us super chilled and ready for the big day after plenty of running around and stress. Included in this was a lava shell massage which was incredible. The C-Bay spa also pairs with their own hairdressers which is located separately up at the sister hotel the Gannet. (Another great place for a stay or meal) The hairdressers were fantastic and provided their service to do the hair for my wife and her bridesmaids. They came down to the beach lodge and offered a fantastic experience, calm, cool and talented. Thankyou to them. All in all. Whether you are here for a day or longer you will find something to make your stay special, I think we’ve covered all the reasons why. So next time you think romantic getaway, family holiday or relaxing retreat you really should consider Carbis bay hotel and estate!

After 5 months of not having a day off work, myself and my partner Nicole were looking for a few days of rest and rejuvenation and having visited the spa as day customers (as we live locally), we looked to see if there were any deals available at any of the spas within driving distance and Carbis Bay Hotel was on the list along with Fowey Hotel, Gwel an Mor, the Scarlet, Headland Hotel and a few others. We don't often stay anywhere in Cornwall as it feels extravagant when living so close to the ocean in our own home but this was a special occasion after a long few hard months at work and with family troubles. Needless to say wee arrived in a less than zen state but were instantly greeted by professionalism and a willingness to understand our situation and make our first few hours very welcome. Paul, one of the lodge concierge leaders, walked us through everything with efficiency and warmth, balancing perfectly the need to acquaint us with the nuances of the accommodation, with our need to make our spa appointment without being late, and instantly we felt welcomed and at home. Hotels are always an interesting experience for me as Nicole has worked in the industry in the USA for many years at that highest level and so has high standards, which often can be hard to understand for someone who hasn't been part of hospitality at that level. I am always proud of any team who can tick all of the boxes and any hotel or restaurant that truly thinks about a guests experience as being as important or even more important than their bottom line, especially in this tough economic time, and although there were a few small things that we picked up on, the overarching experience of the stay was of a very high standard. The beach front property was truly the best hotel experience I have encountered and the design was exceptional, however it was the warm and understanding nature of the team that work here that are really the main asset of the estate and the hiring managers and training programs must be recognised for the level that they have consistently strived for and hit. Special thanks from us to Paul, Jed, Sarah, Linda, Ion and Enrique for all of your warmth, patience, professionalism and friendliness - you have made our time here very special and we will be back soon.

The hotel was excellent. We got a really good deal for dinner, bed and breakfast. They reception team and all of the staff are amazing and incredibly helpful especially Ilmer on the front desk. Would highly recommend. Fabulous place! They helped with an allergy issue that my wife had. They could not of been more accommodating. Proximity to the beach and to the train station is excellent, although the latter requires the ability to walk up a very steep hill !!! We had a junior suite with Seaview and it was amazing. We ate dinner in the orangery and, in waters restaurants. Both were excellent with great food and attentive service. We will be returning!

We have just got back from a two night stay at the Carbis Bay Estate. It is such a beautiful setting and the hotel is scattered around the edge of the bay with access to the beautiful beach and an uninterrupted view of the sea. We ate in the Beach Club Restaurant, Walters on the Beach and The Orangery, all of which were really lovely. The waiting staff in each of them were very attentive without being intrusive. A special mention also to "Ilma" at the front desk who went out of her way to help us. Would thoroughly recommend staying at this hotel which is a stone's throw from the train station which provides really easy access to St Ives. Can't help but think that we'll go back as it was so lovely.

We had a 3 night stay in a junior suite. As we booked last minute we were limited on accommodation choices. We couldn’t get a sea view suite but the inland view suite we were allocated was well appointed and beautifully decorated. However there was a large extraction vent outside the window which did make a noise, not unbearable but was mildly irritating. The guest tablet with all the information to navigate the resort, room service etc didn’t work for our whole visit. Despite reporting this on 2 occasions there was no resolution, which again was a little irritating. We would have liked breakfast in bed as it was our anniversary but just seemed like a hassle trying to research what in room facilities were on offer without any information. We had dinner at Walter’s one evening which was pleasant and a vey nice intimate setting. Breakfast every morning was very good with a reasonable choice from cooked breakfast to pancakes. Hubby was a bit upset his favorite hotel staple of eggs Benedict wasn’t on offer though! The spa was also very good even when having to brave the November weather. I have to commend the staff, all were very pleasant, professional and welcoming. I would definitely return, the couple of small issues did not detract from a very good break.

Our stay at The Carbis Bay Estate was simply spectacular, it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff at The Carbis Bay Hotel went above and beyond to ensure our absolute comfort and to make us feel special. The location of this hotel is simply breathtaking and we stayed in a Junior Suite that was right on the beach. The accommodation was luxurious, spotlessly clean and the best part was having a stunning balcony that was metres away from the sea - going to sleep with the sound of the waves and waking up to the most incredible sunrises really was a treat. This hotel exceeded our expectations on every level. This is definitely a food lovers hotel and the hotel restaurants clearly take food very seriously, every meal we had at the hotel was simply delicious - shout out to the chef who makes the sour dough bread at Walter’s Restaurant…I think I have tried every possible type of award winning sour dough over the years, but none matched up to the bread that was served in this restaurant. I would go there again just for the bread! Top notch! The setting of the Spa at the hotel is unmatched by any other I have been to in the UK, you can pretty much see the sea from anywhere in the spa, and when swimming in the heated pool, you are so close to the sea you feel completely at one with nature - such a superb design. We both had a treatment from Abbie Roskilly and I can honestly say it was the most relaxing massage I have ever had. I would also like to thank Abbie for treating my best friend with such care and understanding; she came away feeling so much better, and the foot pain she is suffering with constantly was completely eased. This really is a top notch Spa - you definitely get what you pay for here and the staff should be commended for their incredible customer service. The attentive and courteous staff can be found everywhere in this hotel, they really do take their guests happiness very seriously here. The most important part of this review is to mention the Lesley Pope, We have never experienced such kindness, warmth and understanding. This special weekend may have be the last time my best friend and I get to stay somewhere together, I hope it is not, but time is not on our side…. Lesley Pope went out of her way from the moment we stepped foot in the hotel, to make us feel welcome and very special. Nothing was too much for Lesley and she went above and beyond to make our weekend memorable. I honestly don’t know how to thank her and really want her to know how much her time, care and attention meant to us - you are one off, a true legend in the hotel industry and The Carbis Bay Estate is so lucky to have you, I just can’t thank this warm and kind lady enough. This is truly a 5 star establishment - if you are considering staying here, please don’t hesitate to book, you are in for a treat! Thank you again, I do hope we will be able to visit again together, but if not, I will be back and will always treasure the wonderful memories that Lesley Pope enabled us to have at this timeless, magical hotel.

Thank you so much to all the staff who made my birthday so special. From start to finish the customer service was exceptional. Emma and her reception team were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Nick and his team at the ugly butterfly were amazing hosts and the afternoon tea was the best I’d ever had. We ate at the beach club restaurant in the evening, the food was delicious. A special thank you to Maxine who recommended an excellent wine. She was so attentive and knowledgeable. We will 100% be back to celebrate again. The location is breathtaking and made my birthday magical. One I will never forget with incredible memories to last a lifetime. Thank You xx
