While the rooms' size and basic amenities are occasionally critiqued, the attentive and friendly staff receive high marks for their exceptional service. We loved our stay at the Boskerris. The location on the hillside above Carbis Bay gives extraordinary panoramic sea views especially from the terrace. The exterior of the hotel and its garden are beautifully maintained. You just know that a lot of love is poured into this hotel. The hotel’s furniture and fittings are all of the highest quality. Starting with the terrace there are comfortable outside sofas and cast iron tables and chairs - no plastic rubbish which you think may collapse under you at any moment. In our room the shower was very good though it did lack a separate hand wand. It did have a good drench head and seemingly limitless hot water. The bed was excellent and we slept as soundly as we do in our Hypnos at home which doesn’t happen in most hotels. The wi-fi signal was generally acceptable but a bit patchy in parts of the hotel. Perhaps worth checking if another repeater is needed? Our tv was showing it’s age and when refurbishment allows a new Samsung would be a lovely touch. These are minor suggestions which for most hotels I wouldn’t even list but the Boskerris aims for the perfect holiday experience and I offer them as a genuine comment to a wonderful hotel. The staff team at the Boskerris are what elevates the hotel from very, very good to superb. Catherine is a subtle, low key but very active manager who is to be seen around the hotel ensuring her team deliver the best experience to guests. If culture in a business comes from the top Catherine deserves a medal. The entire team from housekeeping, kitchen, serving and reception staff have an attitude of trying and succeeding in delivering as perfect a guest experience as they can. Our main point of contact was Anne without whom our holiday would not have happened. Her ready smile and willingness to do anything she could to ensure the best possible holiday experience for us was something quite special. Thank you, just thank you.

After a horrendous journey down to Cornwall due to bad weather and an accident en route, it was a huge relief to finally arrive at the Boskerris Hotel. From the moment we entered the hotel reception area we immediately felt a huge sense of welcome and started to relax. We booked the Superior room which had a fantastic sea view, and all the home comforts were included - home made biscuits, spotlessly clean room with a very comfortable bed, a wonderful bathroom with a lovely big shower, kettle, coffee machine, dressing gowns, slippers and an iron. The room was beautifully decorated to a very high standard. We ate in the hotel restaurant on the evening we arrived, and the food was superb with lovely friendly waitresses serving us. There is a bar area where you can relax and have a drink in the evenings, and if the weather is nice you can sit outside on the upper decking and enjoy the beautiful views of Carbis Bay in front of you. Breakfast in the morning was in the same restaurant area and the choices were excellent. They also cater for vegetarians and vegans too. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly and helpful staff that looked after us while we stayed, and the use of their local taxi chap Matt from Matt's taxis made a huge difference for getting around the area and being able to relax without having to drive. Matt was very helpful and his knowledge of the area is excellent too. There is a train at the bottom of the hill behind the hotel within walking distance that you can catch into St Ives for a wander around the shops and which has plenty of places to eat too. It runs every 30 minutes along the coastal line all the way to St Erth with onward connections and back towards St Ives, stopping at various stops en route. On our final day we went to Porthmeor beach which has a surf shop where you can hire body boards, wetsuits etc, and it also has a cafe, toilets and changing rooms. The beach is life guard controlled so you feel safe there. We will definitely stay at Boskerris again as we had such a wonderful and relaxing time. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our stay so enjoyable - you're all so lovely! x

We had the most incredible stay at the Boskerris hotel. We were there for 4 nights and had a blissful experience.
The first thing to call out would be the staff - they take such great care of you - tending to your every need, giving you suggestions of activities and just giving you all the attention you need. Everyone was so polite and welcoming.
The next thing is the hotel itself - the rooms are very comfortable. We had the ocean view room and it was absolutely stunning to wake up the blue ocean and the sunshine every morning. There’s a lovely balcony where you can admire the view with a drink and book. The perfect way to unwind and find peace.
It was a stones throw from the Carbis Bay beach which was the best one around in my opinion. Golden sand, blue skies and turquoise water. Was amazing. There’s also a train station by the beach to take you back and forth from St Ives for £1.
If you book direct (and not via booking.com) you get breakfast included in your itinerary. The breakfast was delicious with about 3 vegetarian options. The only feedback I’d love to give is potentially changing up the breakfast menu to offer some variety and if the lunch / dinner menu could have some vegetarian options as there was just the one item which didn’t look appetising! I understand it’s the seaside but just one other plant based or veggie option would have been amazing!
If you’re after some bliss, tranquility and great service don’t think twice about booking at the boskerris.

This is a delightful, stylish boutique hotel a short walk from Carbis Bay rail station (although part of the walk is sharply uphill!). The rooms are comfortable with a good mattress on the bed, very fluffy towels, and a large walk-in shower. What was exceptional was the food. Although I originally booked for bed and breakfast, we used the dining room 3 times for our evening meals because they were so good. Modern European cooking would be the best description of what was on offer. One interesting suggestion for those staying would be to try the coastal walk which starts adjacent to the Carbis Bay station through to St Ives. You will go past the cabins used by the G7 leaders in 2021 for their summit. And closer to St Ives you can see a range of large houses occupied by the local elite. St Ives has lots of tiny independent businesses in narrow lanes and the Tate Gallery is good if you want some culture.

One of our last hotels visiting Cornwall but probably the best one. Very nice hotel, friendly staff, good food and very clean ( no carpet on floor) . Carparking is an added value and at walking distance from the coastal train that takes you to St Ives center.

We had the most wonderful stay at Boskerris recently. Everything about the hotel is top class from the friendly welcome on arrival until you leave. The hotel is beautifully furnished, very light and airy, spotlessly clean with wonderful panoramic views of Carbis Bay and St Ives. The outside terrace is fabulous for taking in the views with attentive bar service and the inside reception areas are also perfect for relaxing and beautifully decorated. The bedrooms are lovely with ultra comfortable beds, luxury white bed linen and fluffy towels. Every little thing has been thought of to enhance your stay at Boskerris with lovely personal touches throughout.
The food and restaurant service is superb with top quality produce and fresh ingredients. Steve is a fantastic chef and we loved our breakfasts and evening meals.
This is a special hotel. Catherine and her staff are so friendly and attentive - it’s obvious that they all love working there and take pride in making your stay as perfect as possible. We look forward to our return visit!

Well how do I start with all the great things about this hotel, everything about it is just amazing. Firstly the lovely welcome on arrival and then to be shown around the hotel, is such a lovely touch. It is immaculate, from the decoration to the crisp white bed linen and I have never felt such thick, soft bath towels. The views over Carbis Bay are just stunning and it was lovely to sit out on the balcony and enjoy the views across to Hayle and the beautiful sunny weather we were lucky to have. The rooms are lovely and again the sea views are gorgeous. Best of all though is the food, we ate there 2 nights out of our 3 night stay and the steaks were perfect and again the staff were so helpful, chatty and nothing was too much trouble for them. You can tell that everyone takes pride in their role within the hotel and love their jobs. We will most definitely be returning here, one of the best long weekend stays we have ever had. Thank you to the wonderful staff for making our time with you memorable 😍

My husband and I visited Cornwall for the first time and decided to choose this hotel as it is based in a quiet residential area (and it is adults only!) The location is a 35ish minute, hilly walk to the centre of St Ives but a lovely walk nonetheless. At the hotel Anne was a wonderful host who spent time showing us around the hotel and she was extremely helpful with suggested nearby restaurants and various other suggestions. She was genuinely interested and caring about our wellbeing whilst staying at the hotel. We had a lovely made-to-order breakfast too which was delicious and included vegetarian options. The bedroom was beautifully decorated and extremely clean. Overall, a highly recommended hotel for anyone who enjoys peace, good views, tasty food, friendly service and a moderate walk or a train ride into the buzzing St Ives.

This has been a favourite place to stay for almost 50 years! Several changes of ownership, and now a more up-market concentration, with no children. Superb service from all staff. Immaculately clean, and several personal touches. A Nespresso capsule machine in the room was very much appreciated, along with the shortbread and bottled water. (No fridge in the room.)
Excellent breakfast and staff happy to modify, such as adding bacon, or tomato, mushroom etc. to the smashed avocado with poached eggs..
Bookings are required for the evenings and the menu is somewhat limited, but the food itself excellent - love the fresh bread with butter too.
The afternoon savoury scone with cream cheese and fantastic onion jam, well worth a try, as a change from the scone with clotted cream and jam.

Wow - thank you so much for your lovely words. We were so thrilled to welcome you back again! We do try to change up the specials as much as possible but of course, it's a balancing act between using the freshest ingredients without large amounts of wastage and the menu length - we're always open to suggestions and feedback so do let us know if they're something in particular you'd like to see on the menu. Thank you again for taking the time to write such lovely comments. Many thanks, Catherine

We arrived at the hotel and were greeted warmly and registered. We were then given a little tour of the premises and escorted to our room.
The room, on the garden level, had a beautiful, unobstructed view of the sea, the neatly kept garden stretching in front of us.
Our room was small, and a little crowded, but very pretty, tastefully decorated and exceptionally clean with a comfortable bed and lovely linen.
There are a tv, and coffee and tea making facilities. Bottled water is provided.
The bathroom is spotless and though not spacious, efficient and modern with lovely products offered. Our room was cleaned daily to an immaculate standard. We asked for extra towels which were delivered cheerfully and promptly.
The main floor encompasses two dining rooms, a beautiful lounge that suggests an elegant New England flare, with comfy sofas and chairs.
There’s a fully stocked bar with it’s a couple of tables and an inviting, large porch that is wonderful for sea and coastal viewing.
We had breakfast daily, with excellent choices, served in the most exquisite, clean-looking presentation I’ve ever seen! Who knew a full English could look so elegant on a plate?!!
We ate dinner twice at the hotel, whose meal service is offered only to guests.
I cannot find the words to express the absolute delight these meals were. Each course we chose was incredibly delicious, exquisitely presented and beautifully served. We have eaten in some very well-known restaurants around the World, with famous chefs names attached to them. Resident Chefs, Raul Rusu and Andy Smith are utterly talented, creative cooks, who interpret dishes in the most astoundingly delectable ways!
The owner of the hotel, Katherine, is aimiable, friendly and unassuming, unpretentious of how wonderful she is and what a stunningly gorgeous her hotel is. She also prepares some of the condiments served on their irresistible “boards”, and she can whip up a dammed delicious fudge!
The staff are all friendly, hospitable and kind people and work as a team to give their guests an unforgettable experience.
Which brings me to Anne…she makes your reservation on the phone and is the first person I dealt with. I love her and now proudly call her my friend.
This wasn’t a formal, stuffy, pretentious place. The Boskerris is like your friends’ beautiful home, where you are free to enjoy their hospitality without intrusion, and they are so good at what they do that you don’t want to leave.
