Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The most perfect stay for our weekend away. Mark and Fenelle have thought of every little touch to make your stay extra special and couldn’t have been anymore helpful. We would highly recommend. We will definitely be returning!

First of all mark and his wife were the best hosts and very polite and warming to us and gave us such great hospitality. The location, views , the bedroom and the whole character of the building was perfect for me and my wife…and of course how can we forget the lovely breakfast! If you don’t want to stay in the mayhem which is now St Ives then this is the best place - with only a 2 min coastal train journey. Was the perfect break after our wedding. 10/10

Since returning from our stay at Headland House I have recommended it to all my friends and family! If you are looking for a beautifully presented B&B in a great location, excellent breakfasts and the best hosts you could wish for, then look no further. Mark and Fenella were so very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. Wonderful people. We stayed in Room 3, Cape Cornwall which, although it did not have a sea view, was beautifully furnished, a good size and had an amazing bathroom. The cakes were amazing and we were so grateful for the Prosecco to help celebrate my birthday. Just a couple of minutes walk to the train station into St Ives too. Do book (book directly through their website as you get free parking and a welcome cream tea) - you won’t be disappointed.

From the minute we pulled up we were warmly welcomed. We had a great weekend in a gorgeous room. Genuinely a perfect location, a perfect place and perfect hosts. Little touches everywhere show the effort that is put in. And all mounts up to make you feel amazing. The vegetarian breakfast was devine. Will wholeheartedly recommend and cannot wait to book again.

My wife and I just spent 3 nights in this wonderful b&b. Mark and Fenalla were great hosts and very welcoming. Everything was top notch, the room was lovely, calming very comfy and we had a fab view of Carbis Bay. The breakfasts were very generous, tasted great too. It's a fantastic location away from busy St Ives, only a 5 min train ride away for £1. No need to use your car. Park it and chill. Thx Mark and Fenella. If we come back to Carbis Bay we will be sure to book with you again well in advance. Dipak & Jayshree Patel

We stayed at Headland House for 3 nights in early June. We wished that we could have stayed longer. The location was great and easy to find with parking. The rooms were a very nice size as well as the bathrooms. (The Boathouse and Cape Cornwall). The beds were very comfortable and all the details made you feel right at home. The cream tea was a very nice touch as well as the sherry and the honor bar in the club room. The terrace deck is a great place to enjoy a drink. Mark and Finella are fabulous hosts and terrific cooks. Our breakfasts were always so delicious with a wide variety of options. All 4 of us really loved the Avocado toast. The breakfast room is very cheery and you can enjoy the fresh morning breeze. They were so welcoming and helpful in their suggestions of places to go, restaurants and driving tips in Cornwall. We would love to go back there to stay longer! Thank you Mark and Finella for a wonderful stay!

We stayed in the Net Loft and it had everything we needed and more. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice and our hosts made us feel very welcome. The beaches and walks are beautiful in and around St Ives with a thriving town full of art to explore with great restaurants. It’s a pretty half hour stroll into St Ives but there is a regular train service very close by. Porthminster Kitchen is a great place to eat!

We stayed in a couple of rooms during our long weekend visit. Room 3 is the best designed and most spacious room, try to request it in advance and you won't regret it. Room 2 is also beautiful with 2 large sea view windows. The main breakfast dishes are ordered the night before and they are served alongside a standard breakfast buffet. There is also an honest bar full of drinks and a small sitting area. The area feels super safe and there is an easy parking within the premises- please note it is only free when you book directly through the B&B website. The hosts Fenella and Mark are the nicest we met in a long while; they will go the extra mile to ensure that your stay is memorable - both also offered us the best local places to visit in terms of interest and food. We enjoyed chatting to them in the morning and loved hearing funny anecdotes about their experiences of the area. Although St. Ives is about 3km away, there is a great train service with an easy excess from the house that takes you to town within a few minutes. Alternatively you can also walk to St Ives directly from the house via a memorable path with breathtaking views of the sea.

Our stay at Headland House was nothing short of perfection! Mark & Fenella went above and beyond to make everything perfect and make us feel very comfortable. The rooms are extremely cosy with the best facilities and the bed was so comfortable. Absolute breathtaking views from the accom and as you sit in the breakfast room you can also see the sea, what a bonus! The breakfast provided was also amazing with so many options available - as well as a special treat left in your room each day. Take the beautiful coastal walk into St Ives and you’ll be there in 20 mins. Could not fault this place and would recommend to everyone :)

Our stay at Headland House made our experience in Carbis Bay one of a kind. From the beautiful styling, personal and heartfelt service from owners Mark and Fenella, to the cakes delivered to your door and delicious breakfast included. We were blown away by the quality and welcoming feel of our room. With breathtaking views over the bay and a warm homely touch to this boutique-style accomodation, I could not recommend Headland House more. We will be returning and recommending to all our friends and family. Thank you for everything Mark & Fenella!
