We had a voucher to stay at the Gannet Inn and were told we had been up grade to a better room in the Atlanic and to have our meals at the Gannet. The room was excellent with sea views and could not be faulted and was possibly the best room we have stayed in in this country. However, this seemed a bit of a con when the rooms in the Atlantic seemed to be cheaper than the Gannet. Meals at the Gannet were OK but nothing special.

First let me state that to me a Hotel is a place to sleep at night and eat in the morning so if i'm well rested and well fed I'm happy.

Stayed at the Atlantic 30/12/16-02/01/17, Arrived at 20:30hrs , quite late due to M5 traffic, (will write a review of my stay on the M5 later}.
Staff very helpfull when we arrived {Kat} who couldn't do enough, sorted some food for us even though it was quite late and then give us free drinks because she though the food had taken too long to arrive.
Room was ok with two bathrooms.
Parking was ok across the road with easy access.
Breakfast was good with selection off the menu at the gannet.
Only negative was a dodgy shower that give hot then cold water so it was hard to shower properly but im sure this will be fixed during the refit

Pros= Great Staff, Kat Great service, Great town
Cons=Evil shower

Stayed for 3 nights in September.
Stayed in Room 4, which was very spacious and a great view of the bay. The room had recently been very tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard. The bed was Super king size and very comfortable. A large bathroom with double sized shower.
Breakfast is served in the sister hotel The Gannet 2 doors away. Evening meals can also be served here.
Car parking is across the road.
There is a Sports Bar which was quite busy over the weekend.
Staff are friendly, and one of the receptionists in The Gannet gave us details of a scenic route to Lands End which we really appreciated, as it gave us information about the villages en route.
The Hotel is located about 10 minutes drive from the town centre and there are a few car parks around the town.
The Hotel is currently still having some work done but this didn't impact on our stay.
Would stay here again if we were to return to this area in the future.

Stunning view from the bedroom/living room and lovely classic, modern, comfortable room with a separation wooden piece.
Passage has an area for drinks and the black and white posh squared tiles offset the area.

Sea Views from the living room. Beautiful flowers throughout the streets.

The night time bar and restaurant (opened time the public) is extravagant - lovely staff and attentive. From the front desk to the bar and waiters.

We stayed in the room (first floor) front of house.

Large bed with quality mattress.

Breakfast was amazing.

I wish we stayed longer

What an disgusting place this is.
Having stayed at the luxury Carbis Bay hotel previously, I cannot believe this place is a sister hotel to it.
I expected the brand to extend its quality to the Atlantic.
This however was so far from the truth.
Having secured a suite at the Atlantic via the Gannet ( another hotel belonging to the same group, you would think the staff would of warned us that it was in such a state
It is unfinished, noisy (as it is on a main road), fifthy, scruffy and more comparable with a grotty B&B in Blackpool!
We had booked for 2 nights, we had to stay 1 night as we couldn’t find any alternative accommodation, but checked out before the 2 nd night.
Although the staff were extremely professional and understanding, we were unable to get our money back for the first night. I totally disputed that as I had already informed the reception staff after we checked in the the hotel was disgusting.
We were offered a voucher for a night at Carbis Bay , however this does not make up for the time it took us to travel to Cornwall for 1 night and our disappointment.
This place is a hostel with a sports bar with ridiculously expensive rooms.
Not finished, unsafe and not fit for purpose.
The photos show the terrace?? They also show the fifthy blood spattered area on the stairs outside our ‘suite’.
Photos of the windows with curtains drawn was to hide the sheer carnage and rubbish inside the hotel !!
I have never stayed anywhere like it and will not again!
Come on Carbis Bay how can you possibly put paying guests in such a hovel !!!

If you like no sleep and a raw breakfast the. The Atlantic is definitely the place for you! If you also like staff that have no idea what you’re saying to them, who refuse to help in anyway and look at you as an inconvenience then this is the place for you! Beautiful setting and the rooms pretty nice even if it is freezing cold but the staff make a place and the Atlantic seems to employ a lot of poorly paid and poorly trained ones. A poached egg is too difficult to cook?! The scrambled egg comes out of a microwave and the bacon is practically raw and how cheap a sausage can you put on a plate!? For the cost it’s a complete rip off! And they only have managers on during office hours! Good luck if you have the unfortunate need to stay, a tent on the beach would be better!

The picture above in no way does this place justice. We stayed in a room at the top of the building under the eaves. The view was amazing over St Ives and Carbis Bay. The bed was plush to say the least, so big we had to climb in. Beautiful bathroom with exceptional shower, Spent ages in there! Breakfast served to you with a large and varied menu, 3 courses if you wanted it. Not sure who would manage that as the portions were substantial. Being just outside St Ives its a lot quieter and the coastal path into the town can be joined just across the road. Would definitely stay there again

We called in for a drink on our way back from St.Ives. Staff complaining about no change for customers. Two dogs in the bar barking regularly, not being asked to keep quiet. Not a pleasant experience. This venue has definitely gone down hill since being bought by The Carbis Bay Hotel.

Stayed here on a business trip and what an experience!!! The rooms were filthy and smelled of damp.. the en suite shower room was dated very small and more like it was in a cupboard!! And horrible smell. The beds were very old and he cupboard was full of dust and stained carpets!! The hallways and entrance radiators were on full power and they could not be turned off which made the whole place smell stale!! Food was absolutely awful.. and to top it all off I had hair in my main meal.. and then was asked by one of he waitress if I could clarify if it was a "human or animal hair"!!! STAY AWAY!!!

Overpriced, dirty, no service, noisy, breakfast server on filthy tables... and I could go on and on. Seriously do not get fooled by the description on booking.com or on their site! It is a dump, a very pricy dump!
