Offering great value for money in a great location! The bed & breakfast has recently undergone an upgrade to create a lovely Cornish treat. We offer a continental buffet breakfast, WI-FI, sea views, parking and a range of rooms including family rooms. We do have a garden and there is a park on across the road from us. St Ives town centre only a 5 minute bus trip away or a 30 minute walk or a slightly longer, but very attractive coastal path. A short walk down the hill and you are on the stunning Carbis Bay beach. We are also within easy access of the train station and the nearest bus stop is just across the road. We are delighted to inform you that the bed & breakfast came into new ownership in early 2013.

A very pleasant 2 day stay. Wish we could have stayed longer. The B&B is in a perfect, quieter location just outside St Ives and within a very picturesque 30/40 min walk down to St Ives harbour. You can get the train or bus in if your less inclined to walk. The room was nice, comfy bed with fresh, white, clean linen.
Adrian the host was very welcoming, kind and friendly, he couldn’t do enough for us. Always happy and patient enough to give us lots of information of the local area. Finally the continental breakfast was spot on. Nicely stocked up with freshly baked croissants, meat, cheese, fruit, coffee, fresh fruit juices. etc
We will be returning soon. 👍🏼

We stayed here for 4 nights & Adrian was ALWAYS pleasant, polite and a brilliant host, really made us feel welcome and comfortable from the get go. Was helpful throughout our holiday. Our room was nice and clean over looking the beach. We had plenty of amenities & breakfast was always fresh and again Adrian was always at bay to help. As guests we couldn’t be happier with our stay and the host. Would highly recommend staying at this particular B&B, it’s close to the bus stand that takes you to ST Ives, also a 10 min walk to the beach and the train station(train tickets return is cheaper and quicker to st ives than the bus) would recommend leaving your car at B&b and just taking the train to travel, gets you to St Ives in 3 minutes and it runs every half an hour. Ittl save you lots of time trying to find parking and if you do find it save you some money on parking tickets. All in all would definitely return and only stay here in future.

Green Apple Bed and Breakfast is a beautiful comfortable place to stay in Carbis Bay St Ives. Had a perfect 4 night stay in this beautiful place. Our stay included breakfast which was superb so much to choose from. The owner Adrian made sure our stay was wonderful. St Ives Harbour is one and a half miles away there is a frequent bus service which runs along St Ives Road and a cost of £3.90 return for an adult. Would give local taxi a miss they charged £9.00 for one way.
Thank you Adrian at the Green Apple Bed and Breakfast for making us so welcome

Digging back into the reviews of this establishment you will see that it was originally called the Penlee, and I get the impression that visitor experience could be mixed. Sufficient to say that under new ownership it has been transformed into a far more amenable B&B with a boutique style and definite personal touches when it comes to decor.

It is worth pointing out that this B&B is in Carbis Bay which is just round the corner from the main St. Ives resort (so 45 minutes on foot, or 10 minutes on the bus which stops very frequently 100 yards along the road, or try the train for a unique one stop special - yes, seriously this is a sensible option).

Our room was smallish but perfectly adequate for a few nights but I would recommend checking out the rooms to find the one most suitable if you can. Cleanliness standards are high and as mentioned on previous reviews, great bonhomie with Adrian the owner.

Breakfast is continental style so if a full English is definitely needed look elsewhere. The continental style is in perfect keeping with the ambience - and who doesn't like cake for breakfast once in a while?

To conclude, a very good B&B and ticking all the boxes at this price point.

As the title says, this is the second time I've stayed at this great B&B, having first stayed here in 2018.

Looking back to my review then, my comments now are pretty much the same, with no complaints from an enjoyable few weeks' stay.

First of all, location wise this B&B is in a great spot. About ten minutes leisurely walk from the Carbis Bay train station (which gets you to St Ives in minutes or slightly longer to St Erth, which is on the main line from Penzance to London and beyond). A few minutes longer and you’re on the beach. A bus stop right opposite with regular buses into St Ives or one a few minutes walk that can take you further afield (the coaster to Padstow, for example). You can also walk into St Ives, which takes a leisurely 30 minutes either following the road or by picking up the South West coast path down by the beach.

The B&B is well maintained and well presented. I stayed in a small double room on the top floor with fantastic views of the coast. Tea/coffee making facilities are provided as well as a hairdryer. The bed/shower were both fine and I had no complaints about any aspects of the room. I slept soundly every night.

Breakfast was continental, but with plenty of choice including fruit, pastries, various cereals, yoghurts, toast, waffles etc. Self service on everything except tea, which the owner Adrian provides if requested. This was perfect for my purposes and kept everything relaxed. It also means that breakfast extends over a couple of hours, from 8am to 10am, which provides for flexibility and should be fine for most people’s purposes.

Adrian is friendly and helpful, checking in with everyone at breakfast and when you bump into him during the day. Just what you look for when you stay in a B&B. As I noted when I wrote a review in 2018, it is obvious that he has pride in what he’s doing, which helps to make the stay more enjoyable.

WiFi is provided and on the top floor I had no connectivity issues.

Overall, an excellent B&B.

Booked three days as in Carbis Bay for a wedding on the middle day. The hotel is very quirky and very clean. It is well placed to walk to the beach, Carbis Bay Hotel or the station. There is also an off licence up the road if you fancy a drink in the garden.
The breakfast was lovely, fresh fruit salad, choice of cereal, yogurt , ham, cheese etc. Adrian is really friendly and on hand every morning to serve tea and have a chat.
You can get a day rover ticket for the train for £4 which takes you to St Ives or Penzance as often as you like during the day.
There is ample off road parking.
Rooms are a reasonable size but not a lot of storage if your stay is longer than a couple of days. We will definitely return as it’s good value and in an excellent location

Stayed recently for 3 nights after cancelling our trip to ibiza and doing a cornwall Devon Dorset road trip instead, we really did enjoy our time here and wouldn’t hesitate to book a stay in the future which I’m sure we will do, parking was easy right outside the property and Adrian is a friendly and welcoming host, our room was spotless as was the breakfast area. Location is great and only a short walk to the train station for the short trip into st ives which only costs £2 rtn, carry on down the hill from the station and you get to the beach. Really is a beautiful part of the country and we look forward to returning in the future, thanks Adrian for helping make our trip a very enjoyable one

We stayed in the ground floor 3-bed room which was bright and comfortable. the room had it's own exit to the small garden. Bathroom smallish but clean and updated with shower. The room had a good sized table and chairs if you wanted to have a meal there.
Host Adrian was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was continental style with lots of choices of bread/waffles/pancakes/crumpet, ham, cheese, boiled eggs, youghurts, cereals etc.
Location was perfect - 6 minutes with bus into St Ives and 3 diferent buses on the road right outside. We did not have a car but parking was also available close to the B&B. Safe and calm residential area with 2-3 restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance. A big Tesco about 10 minutes walk was handy too.

I have been coming here every week for the last year. Adrian is the perfect host, who takes great pride and care in what he does. I think I’ve stayed in every room, all exceptionally clean & comfy, and a couple have a great view of the coast. Breakfast is self service with plenty of choice including freshly baked croissants and pastries as well as meat and cheese. You can walk to the picture perfect St Ives in around 25/30 mins, alternatively there is a regular bus that drops you in town. Roughly every 15 mins and £2.50 if you get an all day ticket. At peak times of the year places to eat can be difficult to get a seat so I’d recommend booking anywhere in advance. I have eaten in most and all are of good quality and service. All in all I recommend staying down this lovely part of Cornwall.
