Its owner Marsel, has traveled almost all the world and the house contains a curious collection of trophies and brought from different parts of the our planet. Comfortable room with old wood-beamed ceilings, nice people, and the most delicious beer in the world! During the entire trip through the Netherlands, Belgium, France, this house was the most comfortable. We are pleased to be visiting again. Very close to the city (10 minutes) on the bank of the river Maas is an old mill in 1604. And the mill operating and is used for sawing wood. The place is very picturesque for lovers of photography. More

The best part of our visit to the Floriade in May was finding this truly wonderful house in the pretty village of Beesel: Marcel and Anita have made an heroic effort to renovate and extend their historic farmhouse and decorate it with beautifully restored local furniture and treasures from their travels around the world. (Their garden was also more impressive than any we saw at the exhibition.)

But, more importantly, they were exceptionally helpful hosts, even going so far as arranging a special asparagus meal for us at another B&B nearby, just because we'd asked if they could recommend a restaurant, and then offering to drive us there, because it was raining.

My Dutch sister-in-law was thrilled to be able to sleep in a 'bedstee' from her childhood in Rotterdam and we all enjoyed the luxurious bathroom and a huge cheerful breakfast, with fresh fruit AND the offer of a packed lunch.
