5 minutes off the Thames Path is this fabulous castellated Victorian Gothic mansion. We had an enormous bedroom overlooking the gardens and with distant view of the Thames. Everything had been thought of - the room was perfect. Lovely continental breakfast in the morning (cooked is £5 extra) and the room rate was extremely reasonable for such a delightful place. Plenty of good places to eat within walking distance. A most enjoyable stay.
This was a lovely stopover for us as we walked along The Thames. It is very close to the river and easy walking distance to places to eat for the evening. The room we had (Blue Room) was enormous and had both a stand alone bath and a walk in shower. The room had 3 windows, on 2 walls, so was lovely and light and bright, looking out over the gardens. We would highly recommend this to Thames walkers and anyone wanting to explore the area.
This beautiful house is breathtaking, we had a beautiful stay for 3 night , I wouldn’t stay anywhere else. The bedroom was huge and extremely decorated tastefully , what a gem of a place. Excellent breakfast. Treat yourselves you will not be disappointed.
Felt like we were on the set of Downton Abbey. Emma is lovely, room was perfect. Pity we coudnt have eaten there in the evening but you cant have everything. Would love to find out more about the house.
We stayed at Friar's Ford for 2 nights in mid August for our wedding anniversary and loved it. The bedroom we stayed in (Lilac room) was huge, and the bathroom equally spacious, and both were extremely clean and well-kept. It felt more like staying in a hotel! Highly recommended for a relaxing break.
