What a great place to stay! Located just 100m from the Thames, Goring is a lovely place to use as a base. The welcome was warm, the bar area is perfect for a quiet drink or meeting up with friends. We stayed 4 nights as a base for working in Abingdon (11min train ride to Didcot) and Maidenhead (about 35mins...

We are lucky to have a restaurant f this calibre in our village! Last night we went with Australian family who were staying and enjoyed a wonderful meal. Only booked at the last minute and from the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. We were presented with a Miller Meat Board to share (on the house - thank...

We stayed overnight with dinner. Fabulous food, with interesting flavours - worth travelling to! The rooms are good, a little on the tired side in places (bathrooms) but soft pillows and duvets which is always a plus. The mattress was firmer than expected, but not uncomfortable. Room tea and coffee a little disappointing, but the breakfast made up for it....

Thank you to M at M for a lovely weekend. If you want a dull corporate hotel experience don't book! If you like a traditional inn with quirky architecture, comfortable well appointed rooms then look no farer. We stayed two nights the staff were helpful and relaxed, with nothing too much trouble. Enjoyed the breakfast, and dinner(Risotto was fabulous). Spent...

An interesting menu, and pretty food, but if the portions had been any smaller it would not have been acceptable. Fillet steak was no more than a half of a fillet steak - an enjoyable but tiny meal. You will need all 3 courses and probably extra veg at extra cost. Also no parking here and the nearby public car...

Went for a meal on a weekday evening; ate in bar rather than dining area. Food was OK but not wonderful, presentation too fussy, portions too small and prices too high. Might be OK in a fancy restaurant, but this is basically a pub in an affluent village, taking advantage of the fact many patrons won't care how much they...

This pub is great for a drink by a log fire. The food is untraditional so I found it tricky to find something I wanted to eat for the main course. The pudding was delicious I had the banana bread with rum and raisin ice cream. The biggest problem is the service. There are a lot of staff on duty...

I stayed here a few times a few years back. It has now changed hands and I visited the restaurant recently. Pleased to say it was very good. All four of our party had the taster menu and even though we had one gluten & dairy intolerant and one nut-allergy sufferer the kitchen coped with all of that, we had...

Good Food Guide Readers' Restaurant of the Year Award 2016. 2 AA Rosettes. The Miller of Mansfield is the modern inn loyal to its 18th century coaching inn roots with a 21st century twist. Set in idyllic Goring on Thames, overlooking beautiful South Oxfordshire and West Berkshire countryside. Mary and Nick have dreamed of owning their own place and have long been searching for the right establishment. Whilst the food reflects Nick's love for simple but elegant food prepared with care and giving ultimate respect to the raw product (3rd Best Thames Local Restaurant Award), Mary takes time to consider the wine list & real ales that she is passionate about (CAMRA Pub of the Season 2015). Our 13 individually designed rooms and family/luxury suites offer flat screen digital televisions, marble bathrooms, organic luxury latex and pocket sprung mattresses, Ren toiletries, slippers and robes (on request). The local area is full of activities for all. From magnificent stately homes and National Trust, to Royal Berkshire shooting school (RBSS), shopping in Oxford, Henley on Thames or Reading (not forgetting to mention the Henley regatta & festival) and racing at Ascot & Newbury) there is something for everyone to enjoy. Boat hire on the river Thames can be arranged. Also within a short walk from the Ridgeway, Goring & Streatley Golf Club, Chiltern Aerodrome and close to great cycle paths, The Miller of Mansfield is perfectly located to accommodate all occasions.
