Detailed Reviews
I stayed as a solo person for 2 nights as i had a voucher to blend my own Gin. The location of this little pub is gorgeous, plenty if seating inside and out if the weather allows, although it does appear to be very popular and gets busy at times, which to me shows the standard of pub it is, I liked that there wasnt a lot of choice on the menu for food as it shows its cooked to order from fresh ingredients rather than out of the freezer.
My room was beautiful, lovely big shower, very clean, apart from the 10 spiders! Yes 10!! Not just little ones but nice big ones too, but the lovely chap on the bar hoovered them all up for me with his trusty henry!
Bar staff were lovely, very friendly, locals who frequent the pub were friendly too.
Breakfast was beautiful, far too much for my small appetite, it kept me going till dinnertime, no lunch required. Food on the 1st night was a bit disappointing, but i believe they had a chef covering for their usual chef, i had the fish and chips, the chips i have to say could have been home made not frozen, for the price of the meal i would have expected proper chips not frozen fries and the fish was over cooked for me, i just opted for the hummus the following night which was lovely and served with warm pitta bread.
Very disappointed there is no tea/coffee facilities in the room, when you are tucked up in your pj's for the night you dont want to have to go down to the bar to get a cuppa t! So had water!
Gin experience with Martin was exceptional as always, i do miss his gin pantry tho, the selection he used to have in the other place was phenomenal.
The toiletries in the room smelt gorgeous, so much so i have ordered some for home.
Would i stay again, definitely yes.
Reason i have given it 4 stars is down to the lack of tea and coffee but i would bring my own with me to have in the room, not that you should have to but its a small inconvenience that is easily fixed. Not sure of their reasons why they dont have it, as looking back over the reviews its something they have never had and not due to covid.

A superb 3 night stay at the Plough Inn we didn’t want to leave. We were given a friendly welcome and shown to our spacious room. The bed was huge and super comfy. The shower was fab, and the toiletries so nice, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand soap and hand &body cream. I’m a big lady and the towel wrapped around me, none of these pocket handkerchief sized towels. A hair dryer was even supplied, not something I had expected. The food in the restaurant was delicious, and we had 3 night to sample the delights of locally sourced ingredients. Sadly we only had breakfast on one of the mornings as we had gone to the airshow in Fairford, but that too was great and really set us up for the day. All the food was presented and seasoned perfectly. The staff couldn’t do enough for you and took time to have a chat and ask about our days. We will most definitely be staying here again. Rest assured you will have a lovely time here.

Our group of four spent a fantastic Saturday night at The Plough. The front of house team couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating; we had a delicious dinner and breakfast; the rooms were comfortable; and the village itself is idyllic - quiet, charming, and a far cry from the thousands of tourists in some other Cotswolds villages.
Only minor quibble - our room had a bath rather than walk in shower which we wouldn't have chosen (in summer at least), but fortunately we could use a friend's in another room. Perhaps this could be mentioned on the room listings when booking?
We will definitely be returning for another night of relaxation and indulgence at The Plough in future. Thank you for giving us a great stay!

Such a disappointing stay at The Plough after looking forward to a much needed break.
First of all the location of this pub is lovely and a great place to sit and have a drink in the garden in summer, or in front of the fire in winter.
The photos of the rooms on the website looked lovely so we were disappointed that ours was rather basic. It was also extremely noisy, being located directly above the kitchen generator (room 6). Ear plugs will definitely be required if you are allocated one of these rooms - the sound is very annoying and continues whilst the kitchen are cooking.
We felt the charge per night was very over priced for the standard and facilities of the room and for £140 per night we did expect there to at least be tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Complimentary tea and coffee can be obtained at the bar (if the staff are not too busy or tired) but you will have to wait until staff start work in the morning for a morning cuppa. My Husband waited in the rain on the first morning but he gave up and we made do with water.
Our meal in the evening was OK but we felt it was over priced ‘pub grub’ from an uninspiring menu and did not live up to the standards from years gone by under previous management. Our breakfast was very disappointing - the bacon was so over cooked we couldn’t eat it (couldn’t even cut it).
We were also uncomfortable sharing our toiletries with other guests and would have preferred smaller products to minimise the risk of possible COVID transmission.
Overall: a pretty country pub for a drink but would we stay again? Absolutely not! There are far better places to stay!

We went to the Gin Pantry gin tasting experience which was excellent, we really enjoyed it, just a shame that dinner and our overnight stay at the Plough Inn didn’t match up to it. We stayed in room 7 and were kept up all night by the sound of the extractor fan and the television mysteriously turning itself on at 3am. Dinner was ok, just average pub food. If you are thinking about booking the gin tasting them my advice would be to get a taxi, there are plenty of other places to stay locally that offer really good food and accommodation.

After a fascinating visit to Kelmscott Manor, we stopped for lunch at The Plough. The inviting garden and welcoming interior were complemented by friendly staff. We both had fish and chips, which were delicious (the chips, especially, were lovely and crunchy) and we thoroughly enjoyed this welcome refresh.

My partner and I are frequent visitors to this pub as we live near Clanfield. However this was the first time that we had been here for Sunday lunch. We came with my partner’s elderly parents. The staff are pleasant, friendly and helpful. Drinks arrived promptly. We shared three starters between the four of us. Cheese soufflé - v nice, although too much grainy mustard in the sauce for my taste and it could be cheesier. The trout & new potato salad was very good, as was the crab on toast. We then had two roast beefs and two roast porks. Both very good, although unfortunately the same strong beef gravy was used for both roasts. Pork gravy should be served with pork - and always separately so that you can add to taste. I’m not a fan of apple sauce that’s a purée either - I’d rather see some bits of apple. All in all a lovely meal. This is my partner’s favourite eatery locally (he has asked me to make that clear!) but for me it always lacks something. However we will definitely be back.

Please beware of side plate prices and portions. I ordered a green salad £6 and I was served a handful portion size of few green leaves in a tiny dish, nothing else. I asked if they could add a few tomatoes or cucumber and they provided me with a small dish of about 4 cherry tomatoes cut in half and charged me another £6, so £12 for a few salad leaves and cherry tomatoes. Our friend ordered a side of fries and the portion was so small and was charged £5

Sp pleased we chose this pub when visiting the local area, the staff were welcoming, the room was a good size with a very comfortable king size bed, excellent shower and high quality toiletries. We enjoyed breakfast as well as sitting in the pretty garden. Plenty of walks closeby.

Absolutely wonderful place! We've now stayed here a few times and cannot fault anything at all. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated, staff are so friendly and more than happy to help you with anything and the food is just wonderful. It really is a wonderful place. There is outside seating for the lovely summer days, a GREAT Gin selection and we were even given a doggy breakfast for our pooch!
The location is fabulous for the Cotswolds and we will definitely be back. Thank you for such a great stay

Dear Graham,
I would suggest leaving around 2 hours to travel - please note that this could be significantly increased during popular times of travel (i.e. Bank Holidays).
Kind Regards,
The Plough
I have no idea, sorry! I think its just a pub and restaurant. They might have rooms and maybe a spa. I suggest you check their website.
