Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A group of 18 of us stayed at Wollaston Lodge for my sisters hen party and I couldn't fault it! From the booking process and then countless rearranged dates, Sandy and Grant were accomodating throughout the pandemic and we finally got to enjoy the stunning house. It was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed. All the guests couldn't believe how big the house was and having so many bathrooms was great with so many people staying together. Having both an inside and outside table that seated 20 people also enabled us to be together for mealtimes and games which was lovely. The outside grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed the hot tub on a glorious day. We had the most fabulous stay in such gorgeous surroundings. Thank you :)

Although sadly we never got to stay at this lovely house (due to Covid restrictions not being lifted in June) I felt a 5 star review was needed for the help Grant gave us. He did everything possible to try and make things easy for us with our booking and we were very disappointed when we were unable to go in the end.

Due to the wonderful nature of Covid we had to book a hotel late on a Saturday for an overnight Sunday stay. Grant was more than accommodating to us and we had a brilliant stay at the Wollaston Lodge. The rooms are huge, spacious, and incredibly comfortable... Just what you need after a long drive. The views on to the hills are sublime (even when raining!) and the breakfast, oh my, the breakfast.. So delicious and moreish!!!!! Honestly, probably the best pancakes I've had in England (and if you check my other reviews I review pancakes.. A lot!) Would highly recommend for couples, families, or large groups. They also have an adorable dog Lara who was so adorable and fluffy.. And just wanted all the cuddles! Absolutely amazing location, house, and attitude!

Wollaston Lodge is a beautiful house with amazing facilities such as a tennis court and hot tub. We stayed here as a group friends and rented the entire place for a long weekend. The rooms are stunning. Love the open kitchen into the conservatory, great for having everyone together while some people are cooking and others relaxing looking out at the views. There were some small drawbacks which are the reason I couldn't give this 5 stars. For some reason there were a lot of wasps and flies, especially around the kitchen area. In the ensuite to one of the bedrooms, the toilet seat was hanging off which wasn't the most comfortable. This bathroom did have a small window but we found that the towels never dried in here and needed to bring them into the bedroom by the larger window to dry. Like I say, just some small things that weren't quite perfect, however I would recommend this place to friends and family. The area is stunning and very peaceful, a great place to escape a busy city for some calm.

We stayed here as a group of three familes - a family of 3, 4 and a couple. It was our second stay at Wollaston and it was just as magical second time around. The house is larger than life with lots of quirky design features to make you smile everywhere you look. There are plenty of rooms to hide away or hold a big family get together, whatever your preference. All the rooms are a good size and each has a different theme with very comfortable beds and immaculate bathrooms ensuite or nearby. The kitchen/ conservatory is a very special room with wonderful views over Shropshire and the cinema/media room has the biggest sofa I have ever seen! The Lodge is well equiped with everything you could possibly need and every effort has been made to cater to guests comfort. The outside grounds are a particular feature of the property. The gardens are stunning.....it is all beautifully landscaped and all the carefully co-ordinated planting looks and smelsl amazing with lots of places to hide away and read or sleep (the roses and lillies were breathtaking). Our 4 teenagers loved the tennis court, yoga suite and table tennis table and were kept entertained for hours. We never felt the need to leave the grounds of the house. The hot tub was also pristine, lovely and hot and lit up like a christmas tree at night with the requisite led lights. The garden is also transformed at night and lit with 100's of fairy lights. We didn't want to leave! This place is very special...the weather was very hit and miss but it didn't matter. We have made wonderful memories here and I highly recommend Wollaston Lodge to anyone who wants to get away from it all and have a special experience. We will be returning next year hopefully.

My partner and I stayed here last night and it was stunning. We arrived to a lovely greeting from Grant and Sandy and the beautiful pooch! Sandy showed us the house and to our room settled us in and was beyond helpful in helping us get to the castle for our friends wedding. We also had two slices of tiffin and strawberries waiting with fresh milk for tea if we wanted. Our room was immaculate with beautiful views and a very clean stocked bathroom. The bed was beautiful a lil creaky but it’s old and wooden so we can forgive it and was fine once settled onto it. Sheets clean and soft. It looked like a honeymoon suite in my opinion I felt very lucky especially after seeing my friends room at another establishment for much more money. Had a lovely sleep and came down to breakfast. Breakfast was whatever we wanted we decided on a full English it was cooked perfectly and tasted like real good high quality ingredients. This is a home from home environment but in the most beautiful home. It’s relaxed and calm and Grant and Sandy are just truly lovely. Would recommend to everyone and would love to come back again in the future to explore the area some more. Lou and Tom
