We booked this one night stay as an overnight stop one the way to Berchtesgaden from London and had read he excellent reviews and viewed the wonderful pics of the Castle and hotel accommodation. Upon on arriving we were taken in by the fabulous views, but were not expecting the accommodation to situated so far down a hill away from...

Schloss Montabaur was on our way back from a long journey from Asia. We decided to stay there for a night to relax and recover. Definitely worth it! Very quite, beautiful place. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful. The bar and library is very much entertaining. We loved the wellness! Nevertheless, breakfast buffet was unexpectedly huge. Its easy...

The hotel is divided in different houses - reception is a house for itself - breakfast as well. You may end up walking to the breakfast building. The rooms are not well equipped - fairly small (booked comfort room). The breakfast in the morning is really good. There is some noise in the building so avoid rooms close to the...

This is a unique experience for conference goers. Located at the castle, there's a great view of the city and quick access to the 'old city'. There's not much to do in the city or the castle, so it's more of a relaxing conference atmosphere. The food (cafeteria style) is surprisingly good! There are several buildings around the castle with...

Located a 10 minutes walk from the station - big yellow building at the top of a steep (very)cobbled road. Rooms are 150m from reception in a new block. Very modern with secure access but when you hand your room key in you cannot get back in to the block (and neither can reception do it remotely should you forget...

Fantastic hotel with beautiful views of the town of Montabaur. Service is great. Prices are very very acceptable. Some of the cheapest minibar prices I have ever seen, definitely the cheap for Germany. Staff are friendly. Level of English could be better. Would definitely return.

This Schloss hides many beds in the buildings around the old Schloss, which currently holds office only. The grounds host mainly students and conference guests, which makes the place very lively and young. No fancy restaurant, but good buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In the old city you can restaurants on (hill walking) distannce. The sauna facilities are beautiful...

This is an absolutely extraordinary location, located in a smartly renovated castle at the top of the hill. The facilities are in terrific condition, very modern and very atmospheric. The bedrooms, however, are located in renovated dormitories quite the steep walk from reception. While very attractive on the outside, they are very bland and institutional inside. The hallways echo and...

This was our second visit. Again we were impressed by the friendly service at the reception desk, The room we had was in the same building as before. You need a good condition to walk from the reception area to the building where your hotel room was. We knew this, so no ;problem for us. As we used the dinner...
