49$ for private room and 16$(?) for dorm. Nice area with a relaxed atmosphere. Nice and clean facilities. Decent food. Kayaks included in the price. After checkout (10am i think) you have to pay 4$ to stay at the area. Real stupid and greedy if you ask me. Watch out for thieves at the beach, some local guy nicked my...

We have not stayed the night here, but it's second time for me to Monkey Hut for the day. We saw that they have about 4 rooms at the top with a beautiful view and one big rancho for a family down by the waters edge. I like it as a day spot because with the $5/person you pay, you...

I stayed a couple of nights, at first in a shared room, and then outdoors in one of the hammocks. The room was very average. The hammock was located beautifully overlooking the lake. In the morning the sunrise is just amazing. However, the hammocks are not secluded from the common area at the porch and yard. Some people don't understand...

I took a shuttle from Granada and spent one day and night at Monkey Hut before returning to Granada. Dorm beds cost around $10. They charge $16 but basically $6 covers they day pass to enjoy the use of the grounds. They have a plenty of outdoor chairs and hammocks to relax in. The water is in the Laguna is...

Great location and amazing views for the price. Comfy dorm rooms, nice swimming platform. Good food but limited choice, took a long time to arrive and couldn't order late. Great for a couple of nights.

We went there to spend the day and it turned out to be a very pleasent time. Drinks were cold and cheap, service was extremely nice, facilities are well maintained and the overall atmosphere is really comfortable. We had free parking, wifi is available but not free, the place works together with a pizza place and a local restaurant that...

Monkey Hut provided a great place to take advantage of Laguna de Apoyo. I particularly enjoyed the platforms which you can swim out to and soak up the sun or improve your dive. There were plenty of spots along the shore to sit and relax. The food was alright - I liked the pizza but my friend's vegetarian dish was...

I took a shuttle from Granada to the Monkey Hut for an afternoon and it was wonderful. The hostel grounds are clean and very pretty, you can't beat the view looking at the lagoon. It's worth the day entrance fee to use their inner tubes and kayaks, swim, and have a few icy cold beers. I enjoyed a truly delicious...

Good: very helpful and English fluent reception by Lucia. Lovely upstairs room with private balcony overlooking Laguna. Spartan but very clean. Wifi good. No hot water but tepid not cold so able to shower comfortably. Lovely warm clean lake. Cons: we only stayed one night due to number of people- many just day trippers. Noisy, couldn't lie on beach due...

Laguna de Apoyo is probably the best place for a bit of soulful restitude on your journey through Nicaragua, and if you're a hosteller/backpacker, there's no better place than the Monkey Hut. The location really is supreme and the Monkey Hut sits on an unrivaled piece of waterfront real estate. And the warm, volcanic mineral water really is magic. The...

“If you are a couple or just someone who is looking for a nice room, I would recommend the private rooms! I ended up staying in the dorms; which was was nice as well.”

“The rooms under the balcony facing the laguna get very intense, bright morning sun. The hut on the hill going down has a thatch roof currently covered in plastic, making it quite hot. Day trippers "camp out" right in front of this hut, so there's little privacy on the nice balcony (at least until they all leave).”
