We decided to end up our stay in Nicaragua by staying there since it's not too far away from the airport, and in a perfect location out by the Laguna. It ended up being such a good way to finish it! Place only has a few cabans, and is far in the Laguna, so it is pretty quiet (they have...

I've stayed at San Simian many times and just recently for five nights. My usual MO is to begin and conclude my trip to Nicaragua there. It is very convenient to the airport as well as Granada. First and foremost, the Laguna is a nature preserve. If you are looking for a tranquil, peaceful setting, this is definitely the place....

Staying at San Simian was a great experience. Tucked away from the bustling nearby cities, we spent 4 days relaxing in hammocks with a view of the beautiful Laguna de Apoyo. This is definitely a place for connoisseurs of tranquil nature, ample time for rejuvenation and peace of mind. If you are looking for a party, this is not for...

The place looks like a movie set, tastefully integrated into the environment. The view of the lake is not as nice as from the north side, but still there is no room for complaints! The service is perfect. There is a small beach and the private area above is relaxed.

We spent 2 nights at San Simian, as our last destination in Nicaragua before heading home and what a delight. The location of this resort located on a hill overlooking the Laguna is really remarkable. Well designed and clean cabana, well maintained grounds, beautiful outdoor ( private) showers and a good restaurant on site made this all inclusive spot a...

Our first experience of Nicaragua. Booking was easy and they even laid on a taxi for a late evening collection from Managua airport. First morning we awoke to stunning views of the lake. the setting is fabulous and the individual 'Cabana's' delightful with their unique outdoor showers and bathrooms. Aside from the onsite, water based, activities there are some fascinating...

We stayed at San Simin lodge for two nights. The service was impeccable. Food was fresh and ingredients were bought from the local market. We enjoyed our beautiful bungalow with a nice outdoors shower and comfy and cozy interior. The owner, Daniel was very personable and gave us great information on things to do around the area and would organize...

I've been here for 2/2 visits to Nicaragua and will be there for 3/3 trip. Everything is great here. Drinks, Food, Swimming, Sleeping, Service, etc. There is now a swimming dock located a short swim from the shore and it has greatly increased the fun and joy of the mineral spring warmed waters.

We just returned from our trip to Nicaragua and stayed at the San Simian Eco Lodge and had a truly wonderful stay. Daniel was a wonderful host, our lodging was comfortable (we had the one with the the outside shower which was amazing), and the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Our son enjoyed the hammocks, crater lake, monkeys...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
San Simian is a charming Eco Lodge in the Laguna de Apoyo Dry Forest Preserve. Nestled along the water's edge, this secluded resort has private unique lodging tucked into the slope of the crater and steps from the swimming dock, hammocks and bar where guests pass the time. Guests can stay in a unique palm-roofed cottage with open air shower, private garden or terrace, eat at our full service restaurant and relax at our outdoor bar. As San Simian is equipped with a Catamaran, several Kayaks, and other water toys, activity revolves at the lake front and in the clear warm water itself, however, bird and monkey watching in the surrounding forest are also popular, and we are also located at the entrance to a great hike path that leads up the hill to the Pueblas Blancas artisan villages and the stunning Mirador at Catarina. Please Call Ahead if you would like us to arrange a massage, pedicure, Spanish lesson, guided hike, Granada or Masaya tour. ... more   less
