Elm Grove Country House Hotel St. Florence SA70 8LS
Set in 20 acres of land this imposing Georgian Hotel offers a relaxing stay in the lovely village of St. Florence.
The service at breakfast and dinner is very good and you can relax after in the large lounge.
The food was excellent with Jane’s Smoked Mackerel pate for starters or Welsh beef curry for mains, alongside brie and beetroot tart, red pepper and onion and chicken tagine, filet of salmon or the sea bass, all delicious. Leave room for the puddings and the lemon meringue or lemon tart will not disappoint.
The only constructive comment I would make is that the time for dinner between 6.30 to 7pm is not sufficient time if you have been out all day exploring the delights of Pembroke. It should be at least an hour period we feel, though we know the meals are cooked to order. We heard of at least two couples that changed their mind on eating in, due to the time restriction and opted to walk the 5/7 minutes to the local Sun Inn in the village as they serve up to 8.30pm. Breakfast is between 8.30 and 9.30am.
For our room no.7, (a twin bedded room) we felt the ensuite was too small and it would benefit by having walk in shower, long mirror across the rear wall and wall cabinet. We had to borrow a small table from the lounge to put out our toiletries.
All in all we enjoyed our 3 day stay in the Elm Grove and the food and service provided. Also nice to sit in the two wooden rocking chairs in the garden overlooking the field where two horses were grazing.Regards Gary Saunders

We thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay . The restaurant has all tables well spaced and the food was excellent .Gluten free and lactose free menus were provided with a smile. The rooms are all spacious and different . So much to see and do in this area but it was delightful to often return during the day recharge our batteries and enjoy the lovely garden .we intend to return

After my The In-Laws Paid for a Hotel that was Weeks in Advance only to be told they cannot have their room because they are shut now. Not bothered to Help them resolve the Now Big Problem on a Sunday Evening and to tell them it's Not Their Problem. I was unhappy to receive a Phone Call asking for Help as everywhere else was fully Booked. So i Jumped to it and Rang around a few Hotels in the Area to try and salvage what was a shockingly poor start to their Holiday.

I Tried 3 Hotels all Booked then found this Beautiful Little Gem where the Owner Jane was extremely Sympathetic and Accommodating, Turning a nightmare Start to a Holiday into a Relaxing and Enjoyable one.

Jane came out to them and Welcomed them in, Both my In-Laws had a Fantastic time and Really Enjoyed the Characteristic, Clean Hotel, Company and Food which was New Each Night, and Freshly Cooked/Made. Its Clear that Jane and Alan Care and take great Pride in their Hotel and People which makes the world of Difference between a good Holiday and a Memorable Holiday.

Jane and Alan are a Credit to the Industry and went Above and Beyond to make sure that my In-Laws were Looked after and Comfortable.

I Cannot Highly Recommend Elm Grove Country House enough for the Experience and the Location is Fantastic being close to a Beautiful Beach and Providing Good walks.

Thank you for all your time and Effort and last Minute Help.
We Really Appreciate all you did.

All the Best in the future.

Elm Grove is located within 10mins from Tenby. The Country is large and decorated in a traditional style. Breakfast was nice, but maybe a bit limited, it seemed to cater for the elderly more than ages and tastes.
Local to the House is two pubs which both serve reasonable "Pub Grub" and good ale.

Elm Grove just needs a bit of updating to modernise it, the bathroom was basic and not on par with other hotels .. They could easily add a gym / or spa and enrich its offering ..

Costs are slightly higher due to Tenby being near.

We visited Elm Grove Country House Hotel, as part of an Art group painting week in June.
It is a lovely hotel and Jane and Alan can’t do enough to make it a memorable stay. Starting with the great welcome of tea and Welsh cakes sitting in the garden, enjoying the lovely views they have around the house.
The rooms and beds are very comfy, and I slept better than I do at home. The meals were excellent, with extensive breakfast menu and evening meals, all cooked by Jane. All the staff were so kind and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble.
As it was still during Covid, all the Covid guidelines were present, and we all felt very safe.
I was travelling back home after our stay and got a third of the way home, when I realised that I had left my computer in the bedroom. I phoned the hotel, and Alan had it safe, ready for my return to pick it up. I was so touched by the way he provided some tea and Welsh cakes the moment we arrived back, to refresh us for our second journey back home. Its little unexpected events like this that make it a special place. So may many thanks Alan and Jane for a lovely week away and hope to see them again soon.

We were so delighted that we chose to stay at this beautiful Georgian B&B which felt more like a boutique hotel. Alan our host offered a very warm and informative welcome on our arrival and, together with the staff, did his upmost to ensure that our stay was a great experience. Our room (4) was gorgeous - elegantly styled, double aspect & spacious, with an en-suite shower room & small dressing room. A relaxing and comfortable space to spend time. The breakfasts were excellent, offering plenty of choice and unusually for a B&B, you can book ahead for an evening meal which we did the first evening, and enjoyed a very tasty, home cooked meal, with generous portions- a great option if you don't want to venture out of an evening. In short, Elm Grove met every expectation and we will be back next year!

We have just returned from 4 nights at the hotel and loved it! Our room was described as a 'small double' but it was a great size so no issues at all! All the staff were very friendly and helpful with tips on places to go and eat and were always available if needed. The breakfasts were amazing, loads of choice and delicious, lots of local produce too which is always nice to see. We ate there in the evening twice and had a lovely 3 course meal, massive portions though! I rarely want to return to the same hotel but we will definitely be back!

4 nights at Elmgrove..just beautiful. Peaceful and relaxing from the moment we walked through the door into a very grand entrance hall. Met and shown to our room by Alan. He explained about the grounds and the local area, followed by tea and coffee in the lounge.
Breakfast is fabulous and unhurried. A no fuss swap to skimmed milk too.
We had an early start one day for a boat trip for which a breakfast tray was provided the night before with a small note wishing us a good trip.
If you don't want to stay in the town then Elmgrove is a perfect base with pretty rooms, free parking, lovely grounds, gardens, games room, comfy lounge and a personal touch, with a free pass to Picton Castle..what a fab place!!
We will be back no doubt.

Me and my partner stayed for 2 nights in the top floor room, it was fantastic. Large and spacious room with plenty of storage. The only criticism was the shower was too noisy and it was hard to get an even temperature due to it being in the loft space, but we had the option of having a bath in the bathroom on the next floor down which was nice. We had tea/coffee and welsh cakes on arrival. The selection of breakfast was very good (although we would have liked beans with our cooked breakfast). We dined in on one occasion, the food was lovely, i had salmon in a leak & white wine sauce with vegetables & my partner had venison sausages with creamy mash & red wine gravy, we both had lemon meringue pie for desert. We had dinner in the local pub (The sun inn) which was a nice country pub with pleasant staff and good food.

We have just returned from the Elm Grove and can honestly it is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed in. We arrived before the 'official' check in time of 3pm but were met by Jane and Alan who welcomed us and said that we were welcome to check in early as our room was ready. What a beautiful room it was. It was on the first floor and looked out over the gorgeous grounds and surrounding fields., Everything we needed was supplied in the room. Tea, coffee ,hot chocolate, biscuits and complimentary chocolates. Jane had remembered that it was my Birthday and there was a card waiting in the room. All the food, breakfast and evening meals were superb. Lovely, friendly staff and the guests were delightful. This is not a place for people looking for a lively time, but there are 2 pubs in the village that you can head for if you prefer to stay out later in the evening. After spending all day out we were glad to have dinner, a couple of drinks and an early night. Hoping to go back next year in May for my next Birthday (get the Bacardi in Alan!!) Thank you both and the 'girls' Bethan, Carol and Julie.
