Nice villagelike atmosphere in the hotelarea
Close enough to the beach and main street but far enough from trafficnoise.
Nice and quiet during the evening as services close at 23
Booked a room with a rooftop private minipool and can warmly recommend that (a few ground level minipools available as well).
High ceilings in the room and separate ac in both the bedroom and livingroom helped during the heatwave, spacious and nice room with balcony and separate sundeck/pool.
View over the mainpool and rooftops towards the Ocean (with sun all day on the deck) and eveningsun/sunset from the roomy balcony
Friendly, helpful and attentive staff in all departements!
Food in the all-inclusive buffet was good with lots of alternatives on the beach 5minutes away if variation from the buffet desired.
Surprisingly well equipped minimarket on site.
Covid hygiene well handled end politetly reminded of if needed.
Great stay, thank you!

The hotel is in Agia Marina, about forty minutes drive from Chania Airport.

The buildings are well kept, half the hotel being constructed two seasons ago. There are a number of pools and three slides, which the kids enjoyed a lot.

We choose a room if a private pool and it was an excellent choice. The room had high ceilings, a private sun deck and pool. The unfortunate thing is the site is on a number of levels and runs back quite a distance from the road. Quite challenging for chair bound people.

We took a room only option. For our first day we choose the all-inclusive package. There are two places to eat on site. One all inclusive restaurant and one a la carte cafe. The all inclusive restaurant suffers from two things. Firstly, COVID 19. You queue for a long time to get a member of the team to serve you. One gives you a plate, then another serves salads, another hot food and finalizing someone serves you from the cooking station. It’s painfully slow and would surely be faster if one person walked round with you. We stayed at another hotel, where they did this and the experience was faster. Secondly, the food isn’t great. AI never is great, but we didn’t enjoy the food during any meal. There are a number of restaurants close by which will provide much better food.

The facilities are good. Lots of different pools, playground and slides. There are a few games but little else.

Being focused on Swedes, Finns and French, we encountered few English people which was a shame for our kids. The staff come round with cartoon characters, popular in Sweden, which didn’t interest our kids.

Our experiences at reception were mixed. Checkin and checkout were fine. However, we had a number of painful experiences with some of the younger members, who were unable to tell us anything, had to ring find someone to give them the information.

All in all, we really enjoyed it. A little more thought to the restaurant experience would help and more attention to better hot food. And well educated reception staff would have got a five star review.

Dear RJC110372, Thank you very much for choosing to stay with us recently, and for taking the time to review Stefan Village Hotel on TripAdvisor. Firstly I am so pleased to know that you found your apartment an excellent choice and that your kids so much enjoyed the pool area and the waterslides.. However I feel sorry to learn that you encountered issues with of food since this is not the standard of cuisine at ''Filema'' all inclusive restaurant. Secondly, that your experience at the reception was sometimes unpleasant. I will be liaising with our management team to address the issues that you encountered and to ensure that everything is markedly improved without delay. Thank you again for your feedback and I look forward to the next opportunity to welcome you back to Stefan Village Hotel . Best Regards, Noura Mouslek

What a treasure of a find for an amazing family holiday. The hotel does indeed look like the pictures pool etc but the actual building look so much better than the photos. Its not high rise and all the apartment's look different it does give that 'village' feel. Towels are in your room and will get changed daily if you ask and bedding changed.
There are 6 pools but 1 is the little splash park for babies and toddlers. Then there is a nice small pool that has a veranda over creating a shaded area - for babies/toddlers/small children. Then the 2 pools in the center of the village are where most people congregate - inflatables and ball games, sunbathing. The pool with the slides is here too so you can see the children. There is a pool around the back as well which is larger. The village is clean and there are always staff around who are friendly. I didn't catch our cleaners name but she was lovely and friendly. Nikos in the bar was friendly and always found the football for everyone. Was fun watching other teams play especially as there were many Swedish there.
There is a small shop on site which has inflatables/toys/sweets/drinks/small amount of food.
We had B&B so cannot comment on All Inclusive. The breakfasts were amazing fruits, yoghurts, cereal and dried fruits, cooked breakfast, cake, waffles, pancakes. Daughter was having a daily 3 course breakfast. There were different teas, coffee and juices and I am sure there were different milks on offer too.
There are only a couple of things that I would add to make the rooms better. Maybe a chest of drawers to put some clothes away in the lounge area for families, a couple of plastic cups and plates in the room to avoid any breakages for children (they had them in the restaurant area). Lastly a small dust pan and brush. I know the rooms get cleaned daily and it is all very clean but just having a small brush to sweep up any food or sand would have been handy.
It is a 5/10 minute walk to beach sand and some rocks to climb over.
The old village was an amazing find for restaurants.

We were the first visitors in Stefan Village in this difficult time. We had a superior studio with pool view
The room was very nice. The kitchen was well equipped. Only one thing bother us. There were no liquid soap only shower gel so better to have your own shampoo with you
The staff were very friendly. We took All inclusive. Well for that I would like to have more Greek food. They take care of the customers very well in this covid19-time. The waitres gave us all what we wanted to eat. Distances were very well organiced. One disappoint was that the Bar where Nikos worked doesnt belong to all Inc. We would like to sit there more and every day we went to say hello to Nikos. Very nice and polite Bar man. We liked that hotel. That time it was quite quiet but it was only good. There were also 3 pool and kids area. Would like to come back. The beach was about 300-400 m from the hotel. As well the shops and markets. I recommend superior part of the hotel to the couples.

Dear Tarrur, We would like to thank you for choosing to stay at Stefan Village Hotel for a post lockdown treat and we are delighted to hear that you enjoyed all aspects of your stay. I am thrilled to hear that Nikos was of great assistance during your stay and that you felt safe and comfortable with the Covid-19 control measures that we have implemented throughout the hotel. However, regarding the liquid soap, I would like to inform you that the specific one we use is a two in one shampoo and shower gel dispenser. Thank you once again for your support, for sharing your experience and for your recommendation of our hotel. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future. Best Regards, Noura Mouslek

Just got back home from a week vacation to Stefan Village. The hotel itself is a aparthotel complex with nice rooms that had chicinette fully equiped if for some reason you will not get the AI package. It is ideal for families with children. The rooms are cleaned every day, the towels and sheets are changed and the COViD rules are followed. In the comoplex, you have t pools and even water sliders and the children will be thrilled. The food is good, not great (at the local taverns you can find better food) however you have a variety that you can pick from and you will not starve. Minus are the cocktails that are not the greatest. All in all , we had a great vacation and the staff was great. I really recommend the hotel

Came for a week on all inclusive. Loved the place with its village design and atmosphere. We had our own pool, which was nice for relaxing, but whenever we went to the bigger pools we found sunbeds. The food was great and varied enough for a week, and children loved the little snacks and ice cream that was included. The sea was just a couple of minutes walk away, we went snorkeling and to watch the sunset. Local buses to Chania are practical, but taxis weren’t exepensive either. All you need for a holiday, we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

we just got back from a wonderful week at stefan village. The place is very family friendly. we upgraded to a swim up room and it is totally woth the price! not only it has a private pool where we enjoyed with the kids, but it is also much newer then some of the other rooms.
the hotel is spotless! the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming...fro the waiters to the cleaning ladys, everyone is professional and helpful (probably also smiling...but due to compulory face masks we would not know ;) ).
Food is very good for being a buffet and it varied a lot. Staff did their best to serve costumers and to comply with all the corona restrictions.
the playground is also very nice and well kept. we went to the children show and my daughter laughed a lot. And it is a walkable distance to the beach.
I was thinking if I had some criticism, but there is really nothing bad to say! we did not see the kids club and the a la carte restaurants because they were closed due to corona (thus, definitely not the hotel´s fault!)

we hope to be back one day, and we came back happy and relaxed! thank you

This hotel ticked all the boxes for our stay. We were a family of 4 adults travelling with a 4 year old and 4 month old baby. The hotel grounds are lovely and always kept clean, the rooms are clean and comfortable with all the facilities you would need. We stayed AI and the food and drinks were excellent. Our granddaughter enjoyed the ice cream constantly available. The hotel provided snacks in between meals which we all enjoyed. The pools were excellent for children and adults alike and we all enjoyed the slides. They also had 2 pools for the younger children with one under a shade. There were no sunbed wars. The hotel requests that you do not reserve beds until 8.30 am and 99% of people followed this. They have spare beds which the staff will always try and find a space for if you need one but we never had a problem getting a bed. The staff make this hotel, they are always happy to see you and help in any way they can. The hotel manager is very visible, walking around the hotel making sure everyone is happy. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the main road for supermarkets, beach front restaurants, bars and shops. The only thing I would say is to request a ground floor room if you have small children as there are quite a few steps to get to the rooms. But we managed as we had a lovely room overlooking the pool. I would 100% recommend this hotel its really worth a visit :-)

We stayed for one week at Stefan Village. We had a room at the old side, wich I liked alot since that side was alot cosyer and more familiar. The rooms are dated but very clean and functional.
The atmosphere at the hotel is great and the staff very friendly and helpful! We had the All Invlusive and the food was food, always fresh and a good variaty.

The hotel is perfect for families and for kids!

The only downside was the starting time of the lunch. Now the lunch start at 1 pm, that is very late if you travel with small kids who usually take their daynap from 12-14 isch. If the lunch would start already 30 min earlier that could be so much easier to deal with.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and can warmly recomend it to especially families!

I am not sure as we went out after dinner most night for a drink and when we did stay at the hotel we drank at the bar that is not AI. I would email the hotel to check this. Before my trip I emailed them several times for information as we were traveling with a young baby and they got back to me the same day on every occasion.

I didn't recall seeing any cats around or near the pool, bar or restaurant, but there were lots of cats and kitten along the main road on the walk down to the beach.
