Popped in for a pint on the way back from Shepton Mallet with two friends. Just for a beer but the pub seems to be popular with locals and the food looked good. Landlord friendly. Nice wood fire going, TV on but not overwhelming.
A table of 16 friends from the village sat down to an excellent Burns Night meal. Cock a leekie soup, a very good start. Wonderful haggis, heaps and tatties to follow. And a cheese board to finish. Quality food, great value for money and a fun evening to boot. The landlord, Sam,…
We stayed for 2 nights in room 3 as a break away before the Xmas madness. Our stay was fantastic, staff very welcoming and helpful without being to intrusive, beer flowed a little too well on our first night along with an excellent meal. We had the pheasant burger and faggot's…
A lovely hotel which was ideal for our recent trip to Longleat for the Festival of light. We stayed in room 3 On arrival we were advised that the central heating was broken but we wouldn't have noticed as they had put a small heater in the room and had it on ahead of our…
A warm welcome, excellent food and an open log fire. Really cheery on a winter’s day. Just a short distance away from Longleat safari Park in a quaint Wiltshire village with medieval church and historical stone jail on High Street. Pub has garden and car park.
"Room 3 is recommended"
"Rooms are all up stairs so not ideal for anyone unable to use stairs."
"The twin room (no 1) is at the rear, the others face the village main street. The shower in the Family Room (no 4) is effectively useless."
"They only have 4 rooms"
"Just remember that these rooms are over a pub so there may be some noise until maybe midnight."
