We are a traditional country pub with home cooked pub food, we have a wood fire set in the middle of the bar and offer a good selection of real ales and lagers at a reasonable price. Although we don't have a separate restaurant our guests are welcome to sit in front of the open fire and dine with us. We are known for our excellent friendly service and welcome everyone here. We have 4 letting rooms that are very clean and spacious, our showers are gravity fed so as long as you have a little patience for the water to get hot , they are fine, but if in doubt we are always here to help. Look forward as always to meeting you

A lovely stay in a lovely pub by very lovely people. They couldn't do enough; found a hose pipe to clean our filthy mountain bikes, created a safe storage area for said bikes, kept over (pre-booked) Sunday roasts for us in the evening (despite being closed on Sunday evening. Very smart and comfortable room. Well recommended.

The Red Lion has recently re-opened with new owners and we went to try the Sunday lunch yesterday. It was great to have a break from cooking after lockdown and the roast beef was lovely, generous servings, plenty of veg (the cheesy leeks were amazing!). A really good quality roast dinner.
We had a warm welcome, even the dog, the staff were friendly and helpful.
The Tilleys have created a relaxed, family pub atmosphere even though all the Covid safety rules are in place.
We enjoyed it so much that we have booked to go back on Tuesday evening for the 2 meals for £14!

I haven't stopped raving on about this place after eating there on two separate occasions and have recommended it to family and friends however last weekend my partner took us over to celebrate his daughters birthday who came along with her boyfriend. My partner was clearly excited about the day as had not seen his daughter for some time. We ordered our food at 1pm and we're told at 2 pm they had made a mistake and the order had not gone through we received our meal at 2,20 which was cold, really disappointing even more so when were not offered any money off our bill even if it was the money for the extra drinks that we ordered whilst we were waiting

I booked a room here for my daughter and myself as a stopover for a visit to Longleat. We felt very welcome from the minute we stepped through the door. We were shown up to a spacious room with a large double bed, a very nice en suite with bath and shower over. We had tea and coffee making facilities. We had a couple of drinks here in the evening and felt very at home. We ordered our breakfast for the morning. We chose the cooked breakfast and as my daughter is a coeliac her dietary requirements were very well looked after.
We came down for breakfast at the time we had chosen and the food and service were excellent!
The landlord and landlady couldn't do more for us and their staff were brilliant! A very nice, comfortable night.

Well done to all the staff at the village Duck Race, super busy but still served great food and drinks to all…a huge turn out for the event and the whole team worked together to create an great atmosphere.
We had the best “dirty fries” ever - want this to be on the menu again soon! Thanks to all for a fabulous day 😊

We visited The Red Lion yesterday afternoon in glorious sunshine and were so pleasantly surprised with their friendly welcome, service, food and outdoor setting.

The garden is vast and extends down to the river; plenty of space between tables and given the popularity of this village pub, the space was perfectly suited to all.

The drinks and food menu was both extensive and impressive - and we were not disappointed! Delicious home-cooked meals which were fresh and hot.

All staff were incredibly friendly, polite and attentive despite the large number of customers. Our first visit and we will definitely be returning to sample more of the menu!

Lovely local pub with friendly staff and very welcoming to our family as we passed through town on the drive from Stonehenge to Bath. We ate inside because it was still a bit chilly out but they have a beautiful outdoor beer-garden type space as well. Beer and food were good, just what we needed for a quick lunch. An added bonus was the friendly dog who greeted us in the pub (dog friendly for sure, we saw a few in and out during our meal there). Definitely worth a visit!!

What a difference! Refreshed both in decor, ambience and friendly efficient staff. The food is excellent! Whether it be the calamari, baked Camembert, a simple bacon ciabatta, you won't go wrong here. Last Sunday we had the roast beef and it was outstanding- better than The Angel down the road. There is a shop in the Red Lion Wednesday- Saturday 1000-1400, selling home grown veg, fruit, wines, beers, ciders and more. High quality. It's so good to have The Red Lion back as the centre of the village!

Came for a Friday evening meal with friends at the end of a hot July day. The Red Lion is under new management. The vast riverside garden is the real reason to come here. There is so much space for distancing. I had the steak frites while my partner had the vegetarian option. The steak was cooked perfectly with really tasty truffle fries. Portion sizes were just right. The service was friendly and attentive and value for money was bang on. The pub also has a shop selling local produce. A real highlight to visit on a summer's day, definitely worth a detour.
