Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Myself & my husband have just stayed at this B&B for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it ~ great location too. Our room (No 6 at front of hotel) was very clean and immaculately decorated with a very comfortable bed and a large bay window with sitting area. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with lots of choices. Tea-tray in room replenished and bath/hand towels changed every day if required, no toiletries supplied though, only hand soap. Please note (TripAdvisor) there is no free parking, but a carpark is very close by. You can buy a permit from East Devon District Council which is cheaper than paying daily. A wonderful stay, would not hesitate to return. Thank you both.

A great find. Spotlessly clean. Comfy bed and an excellent breakfast. Lovely host. Well situated and very easy to come and go. Beer is a charming little coastal town with some lovely coastal walks. Good pubs and a very friendly cocktail and wine bar.

Myself and my husband stayed at this B & B for one night but wished we book the room for longer. The room we stayed in was spotlessly clean, larger than we expected and newly decorated. The owner was really welcoming and helpful. My husband had the full breakfast which he thoroughly enjoyed and the gluten free for me grapefruit then poached egg on toast with a large pot of tea and coffee. Myself and my husband would highly recommend this b & b and will be planning a return in the very near future.

Hotel seemed nice enough when we arrived but we left soon after, feeling it was the right thing to do as one of us tested Covid positive. Owner verbally offered us to refund second day and appreciated our honesty. Booking.com would not cooperate, but owner ghosted us despite us being clear we'd be happy with a reduction of their booking.com fees. Moral is 'buyer beware'. Some establishments simply don't understand customer service. Next time in Beer we'll be staying elsewhere.

We have stayed at many of the b&b’s in Beer over the years and somehow never tried this one. Recently we visited and Colebrooke was one of the only ones with availability. We were very lucky as this was indeed a great choice. Lovely building and comfortable, welcoming rooms with everything you need for a night’s stay. We had the room only option and arrived and left without actually seeing the owners. Everything was very efficient, safe and we liked it so much we have booked again. Look forward to enjoying the king size room this time, happy days.

A wonderful stay in this immaculately clean, quiet and comfortable B&B. Room beautifully decorated, lovely bathroom, comfy bed and a gorgeous view over the village. A delicious breakfast of locally sourced ingredients every morning. Extremely welcoming hosts, nothing too much trouble. Will certainly be making a return visit before too long!

We found this place by accident having decided for a week away in Devon and liked that the place was called Beer (bit of an inhouse joke with us & our friends regards alcohol intake). We were happy to see all the great reviews about this place and so booked it and glad we did. Many people have mentioned Dave & Wendy the hosts and we can only agree, they were superb. We only saw Wendy a couple of times as she was the cook for breakfast but we never had any complaints about those. Dave was always up for a chat and happy to help with any queries i.e. places to go etc. We were in room 8 and as a result our breakfast table was the one near the door so we could see down the street every morning and get the morning sunshine on us as it was sunny every day. The room was more than adequate with a lovely comfy bed, good bathroom size with decent shower, and the usual tea/coffee items & TV. If any issue it was juts a bit warm in the room as the only window was on the far side but we slept soundly most nights. It's location at the top end of the high street means the small shop is across the road and the chemists is two doors down. The walk down to the beach is lovely and gives you a chance to see this lovely little town in all its glory. There are plenty of B&Bs, self catering options in Beer, but as one couple sat near us said, they'd tried several others bit always came back to Colebrooke as it was the best. And I agree. Definitely book here again if I come back.

Immaculately clean, quiet, very comfortable room in the centre of Beer. Breakfast was one of the best that I've ever had, all cooked from fresh and served very hot with a fresh cafetiere of good coffee. Dave gave tons of great advice about the local area and helped out with any parking issues or boat hire queries. I will definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a peaceful, relaxing stay in such a beautiful and quiet place as Beer. Swimming in the cleanest, freshest sea water is a must.

Just back from this lovely B&B. Situated in around the center of this I would call Picturesque Seaside Village .Wendy and Dave were perfect hosts .I did wonder if Dave's hobby was Decorating due to the immaculate presentation .Alex Politzi would not waste her time here to pick fault I feel .at this brilliantly well oiled machine. Breakfast orders as you wish to suit, just ask Dave for your requirements .I cannot really elaborate much more, just to say we will be back .Now if I may add some advice there are no parking facilities ,however when we called to enquire Dave had the answer ,just look up East Devon Council Car Parks on line and book your stay requirement .We paid £15 for 72hours which covered our need therefore we could stay at all the resorts we wanted to for that price included ,obviously piece of mind for your stay in the charming Beer There is several places for a drink, must say for a great meal Gina's was our place wish we had called there first ,however enjoyed the Fish and Chip Shop on our first night.

Perfect place to start each day of your holiday. Great breakfast, Wendy and Dave were wonderful hosts, and the spotless clean guest house couldn't have been better situated. All village amenities were handy and the beach and sea front were just a short walk.
