Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Paisley Pear by Marston's Inn receives a blend of feedback from guests. Many praise the hotel for its clean and modern rooms, noting the comfort provided and the handy in-room tea and coffee amenities, along with enjoyable meals at the pub.
However, opinions on service and value are split; some guests commend the friendly staff, while others have experienced rudeness and question the hotel's price-quality balance. The atmosphere is generally well-regarded despite occasional noise issues and minor aesthetic imperfections.

Detailed Reviews
We used this hotel/motel to give us a break in our journey and were not expecting anything special from what is essentially a budget stay. Imagine our surprise in finding this basic but very comfortable place. Our room was certainly big enough, was very clean and had the most comfortable bed we've found in many a year - it was superb! The shower too was very good, just right for blasting away a hard journey. Despite being close to a main trunk route, the room was very quiet - just right for an undisturbed night. We would certainly visit again.

Arrived at 10.30pm after a 7hr journey which should have taken only 4 we were a little frayed around the edges as you can understand. My wife my Daughter 19 years old and I all ready fir a beer and bed. Because of the (I don't agree with) rail strikes we travelled a day early from Dartmoor, Devon to get nearer to our destination Northampton to attend our Niece wedding. Glad we did. The check in was faultless, to late for food but the beer (Estella) was served in perfect condition, clean glass and with a smile. Rooms were perfect, beds comfortable, couldn't fault it. And the best was that we could book a late check out 2pm £20 extra as the Premier Inn Northampton, would not allow check in before 3pm when the wedding was at 3.30pm. Thank you Paisley Pear

This hotel is what you would expect for the price. It was clean but very basic.
You have to get the key from the pub next door which allows you into the building it’s self. You only get one key which if one person wants to go out you have to sit in the dark until they come back. This is due to the entrance and internal door being locked during the day.
However when we arrived back from the wedding we had attended at about midnight all the entrance doors where unlocked which we found bizarre.
If you want hot water for a bath or shower then you have to be up early. We only had enough hot water for one bath. Even then it wasn’t hot it was Luke warm.
It is close to a Sainsbury’s and a costa coffee which is nice and was within waking distance.
There is also plenty of free parking with electric parking points. Again these seemed plentiful.
Phone signal is very poor in this area which is not the hotels fault their WiFi was very good but is something that is useful to know if like us you needed to get the AA out.

Thanks for taking the time to write the review, if you happen to visit us again please do ask us and by all means we can cut you another key. Also a little travel tip: any card will work in the lights. Im unsure why the doors were unlocked, but I do know we had to have an engineer out to the front doors last week, perhaps you were here then. We hope you use us again and look forward to seeing you. Although the ‘Pear’ has been open for business for quite some time, we’ve on,y paid our first visit today and had a lovely family meal. Staff were courteous and friendly, service (considering we’re still observing Covid guidelines) was really good.
The menu is a bit limited and basic but the shared Camembert, and breaded mushrooms for starters got the ‘thumbs up’. Mains followed without too much time delay, was generously portioned and cooked to perfection (lamb shank, burger and rib eye respectively). The steak was beautiful and the lamb literally fell off the bone whilst the burger was tasty and filling - sadly we were all too full to order dessert.
We will certainly return - thank you Paisley Pear for a lovely meal.

My son and I stayed in a family room on 30/08/2022. We were charged £150 for the room with no breakfast. This hotel is advertising via websites prices around £75 - £89 per night for a similar room. In our opinion we were ripped off. We will never stay in a Marstons property again.

Stayed at the Paisley Pear for one night to attend a family Wedding in Brackley. Five different families all had rooms here. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and well stocked with toiletries and tea, coffee and biscuits etc. The check-in process was very quick and easy and our rooms were advised as ready for us well before the formal check in time which was a big help.
We all breakfasted at more or less the same time - 8 adults and 4 children and the very friendly and helpful staff coped admirably with all our various requests. Our coeliac
family member was very pleased to be able to have a full gluten free breakfast (including hash browns and the very nice Genius Bread for the toast).
Thank you for a pleasant stay

There was 7 of us from our family.
Reservation was for 3Sunday at 3:00pm. Best part was good reception and waitress . Drinks came quick.
Has to be the worse pub food we have ever eaten. Mash potatoes were cold and splashed on plate. What we thought was a small block of dressing turned out to be a block of roast beef. The small piece of charged steak was cold and had gristle. The only thing warm was brown gravy. Carrots were limp and did not look like they had been cleaned.
Obviously the manager there for the day was more interested in telling staff what to do than checking with customers how their food and experience was.
While we live within a short walk to the pub. We are not looking to go there again.
Over the top price for what we received.

Staying here with family on the way back home as a halfway stop . Chosen for location price and ease of booking and stayed before at a Marston inn was very comfy . Again booking was easy and price was good . Location is great albeit I missed the entrance off the main road . Booked in easily with staff and again room well laid out and clean and comfortable. Booked a meal for the Evening at the pub.
Duly sat down in a lovely pub very comfy good menu for family and kids were served by the lovely Caroline who couldn't do enough for us . Food and service were both fantastic, every meal was perfect, the buttermilk burger , tikka and pie of day beautiful!!.
Would certainly visit again without a doubt. Thanks to the staff , Caroline X

On arrival the door bell didn't work to alert staff someone was waiting but only a short wait he said something about distance but it was only a few minutes. It has very clean, modern rooms with comfy beds. A short walk across the carpark to the main pub for the evening meal and again greeted and seated and enjoyed my meal which they cant really get wrong as it is a Marstons.

Caroline gave us very good customer service but the food was not very nice would not recommend the Cajun chicken and also the salad the texture of the Cajun sauce was like water I would not come back again. We all liked Caroline’s customer service.you should put me in the kitchen I would make better food then this might have to stop for a quick macdonalds now because my money was wasted on that
