Overnight stay during a long weekend in the area. First B&B stay for a long time and so glad we did at this hidden gem. A great house in a lovely setting with an active airfield and WW2 history at the bottom of the garden.

We stayed in the Airfield room which was very comfortable and tastefully decorated in a shabby chic style with a luxury ensuite with excellent high end rainforest shower and separate bath.

Continental breakfast was very generous and included in the price. Loads of options and all set out for us in the grand dining room at our preferred time. I’m a big full English fan but I didn’t miss it with everything else that was on offer.

Our lovely hostess and manager Rachael was very warm and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us from the time of our online booking to when we left on Saturday morning. She was even on hand to talk us through alternative driving directions when we got stuck with unexpected local road closures after dinner out on Friday evening.

Our only regret was we didn’t stay longer and have more time to explore the grounds and airfield. Walltree House is a lovely B&B and has vast potential as an excellent wedding & events venue too. It appears to be brilliantly run and we will definitely be back for a longer stay. In the meantime we wish Rachael and the team every success!

Just back from our 1 night stay,, a beautiful location, stunning views.and surroundings.
didn't meet the owners but everything was perfectly set up with instructions for our room on arrival, we stayed in the lodge room which was very spacious, the room was perfect with everything we wanted in the room with espresso coffee machine and pods.
breakfast was pre ordered off the form we filled in when we arrived and we chose our breakfast slot.
Gemma was our host for breakfast and nothing was too much trouble.
would defiantly recommend Walltree house and would stay here again if in the area.

Lovely house and grounds set away from the main roads. The whole property oozed character and was exceptionally well presented. Our room was comfortable and spacious, with a fantastic en-suite and countryside views. Rachael the host was warm and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. She was also exceptionally helpful, giving us good advice both before and during our visit. Despite an early start, a tasty continental-style breakfast was ready and waiting for us in the large dinning area. There was also an option to take it in our room. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Walltree House. We would highly recommend it for a relaxing break or as a base to explore the surrounding attractions. We were sorry to leave so soon and if in the area again, will definitely look to return.

Everything about this short stay was exquisite - the accommodation is period probably adjacent to a small airstrip and feels like as relaxing as a 5 star health spa. Rachel, the host, is simply brilliant - nothing is too much trouble, attention to detail superb. I would highly recommend this for any type of relaxing stay - work, pleasure, simply to find a quiet peaceful setting in which to contemplate. Thanks for a perfect couple of days.

We visited as my son takes a skydiving course at the nearby airbase and I had some business in the area. Absolutely enjoyed the peace and quiet in this charming country house. Spacious, tidy room, generous continental breakfast and Rachel a super helpful and friendly hostess, efficient in communicating, very welcoming and most easygoing with any requests before and during the stay. Will visit again.

Beautiful house on gorgeous grounds. Hosts were so accommodating, I stayed here the night before my wedding with my bridesmaids and mum and had such a lovely evening. Natalie and the team were so helpful and went above and beyond to make it a really special evening!

Despite not seeing anyone on our overnight stay it was a great find. Lovely surroundings, very clean room and everything you need for a continental breakfast. Excellent value for money. Honesty bar an added feature. Fun watching the sky divers too.

We went camping at Walltree House and it was the most calm, well-stocked, campsite we have ever been to!

As someone who has been to many campsites, the service we received when we had a query was phenomenally polite and fast.

The shower, sinks and bathrooms felt comfortable and well-built. And the drop off site (with wheelbarrows provided!) meant unpacking and packing was a breeze.

With a quiet pitch between long grass for privacy, we had a fire pit one night and a barbecue the next- both fantastic- and used the marshmallows available with the honesty box! It might have rained during our stay but it didn't dampen our moods.

We're hoping to return and become regular customers for such a wonderful local site.

We stayed in the Rouge room, suppose to be romantic, but not for us. The door did not have a handle so shutting the door when going out we had to put our finger in the lock to close it, it wasn’t easy, every other room had a handle so I’m guessing they hadn’t got to our room yet. There was a horrid piece of net curtain hanging from one window that looked tacky, although both windows did have a good black out blind. The tv and coffee facilities are squashed on a tall boy/dresser, it really needed another table/ dresser for the coffee facilities. The bed and pillows and bedcovers where very comfortable & crisp clean. The bathroom had underfloor heating but it was very cold in there. I think the French romantic theme was not quite right especially with the creepy picture of two people one holding a garden fork ( not very pleasant ) the other picture was just a mess of colours. The young lady who greeted us was very welcoming and we had a lovely continental breakfast, although a toaster in the dining room would of been nice as personally we don’t like pastries first thing in the morning, there was a great selection of jams, peanut butter and marmite but no toast, lots of juices and tea and coffee, She was also there to say good bye a very pleasant a kind lady. We did mention a few things to her and she said she will notify the handyman. Had a walk around the grounds and the airfield which was very nice.

It was really lovely having you stay and many thanks for your feedback. We have gladly taken on board your comments and will look to make positive changes to the room. Being a new business, we will continuously be updating and improving our offering, so I hope you return in the future. We also have 2 other rooms, both with a different décor and feel, if that particular room isn't to your taste. Many thanks and kind regards, Rachael
