A lovely setting for a B&B. Or maybe a self catering establishment. Breakfast was unusual, with the friendly host providing eggs, bread etc for us to cook ourselves. This felt more like self catering which would’ve been OK had the room rate reflected this. Our host was very friendly and the rooms were very clean if not a little tired. The lane approaching the property needs some TLC.

This is a very special place! Its setting is dramatic and glorious, even in chilly February, with the snowdrops peeping out in the stunning riverside garden. The B and B has two separate flats/rooms and ours had its own private entrance downstairs . The bedroom was spacious, immaculately clean and very comfortable. It was exceedingly well equipped with simple kitchenette, large bathroom with a bath and shower, large comfortable bed etc. Breakfasts are preordered the night before and rather than cooked variety, they’re a great selection of breads, cereals, cheeses, charcuterie, croissant, homemade jams and marmalade and a great range of teas and coffees. Best of all is the hostess with the mostest ! Susan is simply wonderful, fascinating to chat to, lively, interesting and interested and even in just 3 nights we began to get to know each other! She simply can’t do enough to help and her little luxury extras were much appreciated. If you want utter tranquility, free of television but with good Wi-Fi if if you need to keep in touch, pretty gardens, comfort and charm, this is just the place !!

This B&B is not your typical stay. The venue is nestled along a beautiful stream with many spots set up for relaxing and enjoying the tranquil setting. We booked the upstairs room which included a kitchenette and bath. The latter is large, with a very roomy shower. Amenities included plenty of large towels, hand towels, washcloths and pump hand soap. The shower had some type of pump soap that was designed to wash hair, and body as well. There is no television on the premises for guest viewing, but there is very strong wi-fi. Breakfast items are chosen by the guest, and the owner stocks the kitchen nightly, primarily when one is out of the room. The kitchen, bath and bedroom were all refreshed daily. Breakfast choices include several types of bread, juice, coffee and/or tea, granola cereal, fruit, smoked salmon, meat and cheese plate, and eggs. There is a microwave for cooking, and one can either make poached eggs or scrambled eggs in it. Plates, silverware, plasticware for cooking are all supplied, as well as a large variety of teas. Every day there was a "treat" on the table for us to enjoy in the evening, whether it be shortbread or a chocolate delight. The house is quite close to Corbridge and to Hexam. There is a car park in front of the house. The road is a private avenue, so there is little or no car traffic. The area is very quiet. In reference to the odor mentioned by another review, my husband kept insisting that he smelled something "off". The smell of the house reminded me of other old buildings where we had stayed and I did not find it to be offensive. As I have an extreme sensitivity to mold, I would certainly rule that out, as I had absolutely no breathing issues while staying here. The owner only accepts cash. Be warned that Corbridge did not have a bank with which to withdraw, so we had to drive to Hexam in order to find an ATM machine with no fees. The owner lives in the house, but has her own private entrance. Her living quarters does connect to the B&B upstairs hallway via a set of glass doors, and as mentioned, she does knock prior to entering. This was not a frequent event. This is certainly a unique place to stay if you are looking for something different than the norm. The bedding was comfortable, and the environment was quite peaceful and very quiet.

A haven of peace and quiet in a beautiful setting next to the river, only a few minutes from. Corbridge. It was lovely sitting out in the garden enjoying the garden and the sound of the river. Our host was delightful and welcoming. It was good to have alternatives to a usual fried breakfast, the home made jam and marmalade were delicious! The studio apartment had it’s own kitchenette and microwave. The rooms were spotless. Looking forward to our next stay.

Was expecting this to be wonderful but sadly not at all! The owner was not happy to see our dog even though we told her online about the dog but she insisted we did not. The towels were stiff and musty the bedding did not smell fresh and the cupbourds smelled foisty the dish cloth and scourer were worn and dirty and smelled awful. There was no lock on the door and the owner knocked often and barged in and insisted on putting the brealfast she brought in the fridge. I was on edge thinking she was going to knock on the door and come in all the time, it felt like there was no privacy. The basic breakfast was cheap and tasteless, the whole thing was totally overpriced and we got the impression the owner really did not want us there. The only good thing about it was the amazing gardens and the river.

Just parking next to this historic building gives the visitor goose bumps. The grounds of the Mill are wonderful, peaceful and ideal for reflection. The rooms, including the en suite, were large, clean and tidy. They are equipped with everything you need for your stay. You will need to travel out for food or bring it with you on arrival. Lovely bespoke breakfast which complimented the place as special. Everything is covered on the accommodation description so well worth a close read. I.e. no TV. It would be lovely for the owner to produce an history of the Mill and it's immediate area so that the visitor can visualise every brick and use in the past. Highly recommended for walkers as well as longer stays to visit the area.

We had a great few days in Dilston Mill. We stayed in the flat upstairs, which was cosy and spotlessly clean. Susan is a great host – she offered a wide choice for our continental breakfast (I loved that it was put in the fridge each day ready for the next morning), sorted our restaurant booking and was just generally helpful. The setting is great – we loved the garden and the river outside, and we enjoyed the stars as the skies here are darker than we are used to at home.

Just returned from our first visit to Dilston MIll. We booked directly with Susan the owner who welcomed us on arrival. We had booked the downstairs studio, but as the first floor, more spacious suite was also available Susan showed us both for us to choose. Due to the lovely views of the river we chose the suite., a double bedroom, bathroom and spacious dining room with microwave, sink, fridge etc. We selected our preferences for breakfast which Susan left in the fridge for us to prepare at our leisure, in addition to the fruit and selection of cereals already in the kitchen. The accommodation is warm (very cosy during the February storms) and spotlessly clean. The Mill is well positioned for walks across paths to both Hexham and Corbridge, and close to local bus routes and train services if you need a break from driving. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at Dilston MIll and would certainly stay again when we return to explore more of this lovely part of Northumberland

We just spent 3 nights in the Studio at Dilston Mill, and couldn't have been more happy with our choice. It's a lovely combination of self-contained - so that you have your own entrance, little studio kitchen and privacy - and looked-after. Susan's always on hand to help and chat and give tips - she's a delighful host with a very pleasant and easy manner who lets you know she's concerned you get everything you need. We loved the breakfasts - ordered the evening before - with excellent coffee and choices. And brilliant homemade Plum jam! The studio's very comfortable - with a terrific shower, good bed and fast wifi. And the gardens - with so many pretty places to sit and watch the river - are a peaceful and beautiful oasis of calm. We found it a wonderful centre to explore from and a bit of tranquility to return to after busy days out and about. In all - this place is a stunner and Susan's just such a pleasure to meet and to have taking care of you. Highly recommended!

This place is just lovely. Susan is a fantastic host. The decor is lovely and the breakfast fantastic. The studio so private and welcoming and spotless. The garden a little bit of paradise. You can walk to lovely restaurants in Corbridge or get an easy bus ride to Hexham in the evening. You can do fantastic walks right from the door. We spent a week with our border terrier who also fell in love with Susan and the Mill and would have stayed there permanently! Even our teenage son wants to return... We will be back.
