This is a smaller operation, family run. Some 20 bungalows and rooms in a beautifully landscaped beachside psrk. The restaurant will go out of its way to cater for your demands, given sufficient notice. Full bar, massage bicycles, the lot. The wooden Seaview bungalows could do with some maintenance TLC, but nothing serious. Kind of adds to its charm. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

I was supposed to lead a personalised tour to Khaolak but changed my plan almost at the eleventh hour. And my client and I had an unforgettable and wonderful experience at Sukorn island-perhaps Sukorn Cabana Resort. First and foremost, my experience started off with the reservation personnel named Krue. Krue was prompt in every e-mail reply prior to my trip and I was truly impressed with that. And the resort manager named Alee and his staff were very welcoming, accomodative and friendly. Every single concern was being attended by them promptly and attentively with a smile. Personally, I give a thums-up for this resort. It has its own private and well kept beach(not a very long beach). The only draw back is if you are looking for white sandy beach, then it may not be the beach for you.(there is no 'white-sand' beach in whole Sukorn island though). But if you truly want a quiet get-away resort, I strongly recommend you check this place out. Food served here is above average. Nevertheless, I like this countryside island so much as tourists are far outnumbered by locals. The island offers a very laid-back atmosphere and is perfect for those seeking an ideal get-away from touristy places. You may want to rent a bike to tour this unique countryside island in half a day to mingle with the warm-hearted and welcoming locals, though they may not be able to understand your language. All in all, it has been a memorable and unique experience visiting this island. Go and experience how wonderful this island is!

I've been there for a night with my other 6 friends. The place is located at the end of Sukorn island. It was so peaceful and lovely place to stay with a reasonable price. But many information was different and not clear from what I've called them. Something like the pier to get the boat which there are 2 piers, we went to the new one, then called them and they say should go to the old one as we need to park the car. Moreover, the boat to the island they told us the price per person but we need to pay the whole boat price and divide later which was more expensive than they said. We were 7 of us it was okay to share but if there is a single traveler going there does that person needs to pay the whole boat or .. not. When we got there, we took a motorcycle taxi which was a bit more expensive than they said again. We didn't take their tour or rent their boat as we booked the boat from the shore already. But while we were there the guests before us there got a problem join there one day trip.. so.. dunno... Anyway, it's really good place for relax and the trip to Lao Lieng island was a paradise on earth. Check it out!

On arrival I was offered a glass of water and shown my room. No problems with my room, it’s was everything it should have been………. seaview, aircon, fridge and a double bed. However it seems unless you ask for information none is offered. There was no information pack in the room or around reception offering day trips or bike hire etc which means you are very isolated. My room wasn’t cleaned for the 3 nights I stayed which meant the bin attracted insects, I emptied it myself once. When I questioned this I was told I had to ask for the room to be cleaned. I also had to ask for the bottled water included in the price and no mosquito net was offered even though I had seen them in other rooms (with thai residents). On my third day I had to ask for toilet roll! The day I arrived I went down to the restaurant and ordered a tuna sandwich for lunch. No tuna available so I had chicken instead. It was ok but heaped with onion to fill it out. That evening I ordered thai chicken yellow curry and rice for my evening meal. It was yellow, spicy and contained 3 pieces of chicken but not a patch on anything I’d ever eaten before in Thailand. It filled me up and I ate it but at 120Baht rather small and expensive. The following morning I asked for muesli and milk to be told it was not included in the set breakfast meal. I offered to pay extra and was told they didn’t have any muesli? Why put it on the menu if you don’t have it? To compromise I ate my own from my own muesli that I carry when backbacking, with milk from the restaurant and asked for pineapple and banana to go on top (fresh fruit of the season was included in the set breakfast menu). Yup you’ve guessed it…….no bananas and only water melon and pineapple was given. Then my second night I thought I’d have thai chicken green curry with steamed vegetables, the curry was inedible and I left half of it. A bright pea green colour with virtually no taste, it certainly didn’t taste good. When I complained to the manager, he told me that he had met tourists like me before who ate some of the food, felt full and then complained, saying they wouldn’t pay! The morning I was treated like a leper by all but 2 of the staff. No smiles, just grunts even though I explained the night before that that I would still pay for the curry. I would not stay here again and think the resort have a lot to learn. I have given it 2 stars as the room and general cleanliness was above average.

Our room here was ok but expensive compared with other places we stayed at around the Trang islands. The main problem here is the price and quality of the food. Our meals were often disappointing and our food bill was surprisingly high. Unfortunately it's not really possible to eat outside of the resort on this quiet island. We were also charged and unbelievable 600 bhat for a 10 min motorbike ride to the pier for 2 of us when we left.

We have stayed there 5 nights with 2 children and had excellent stay. If you accept dark sand and lack of tourists, Koh Sukorn is a perfect place. Cabana has a great view, nice bungalows and fantastic, friendly staff. The only but: whey should clearly inform in advance that they charge 5% on credit cards payments.
