Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had a fantastic weekend stay at the Mansion House. The spa is amazing, enjoyed two separate visits there and it is superb. The spa was relatively quiet, so managed to swim and use all the various saunas. The mansion house is so spacious and the robes and slippers and bathroom products just goes above and beyond. Huge shout out to Kev the transport man. He was really helpful getting us around the site.

To Safa and the rest of the staff at Cameron house :) I want to say a huge thank you for your generous upgrade to our room (the room and the view were fantastic) and for making our stay extra special. This was the first time visiting the hotel with our kids as our previous visits have just been just the 2 of us (my husband and I). Our daughters had an amazing time (as did we) and have left 2 very happy children cuddling their Cameron Patrick bears. I have to say that the customer service and experience staying at the hotel is second to none and I honestly don’t think you could find more friendly, helpful or welcoming staff anywhere else. We will be back and I’m already looking forward to our next visit. :)

Dear cgibson405 I would like to thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely positive review of your visit with us. We are so proud of our staff, the hotel and the service we provide so I am glad you experienced that during your stay. The memorial seats and tree's that we encourage guests to place/plant are a real benefit to the resort and always nice to hear that a family member truly loved visiting the Bonnie Banks. All the very best

Celebrated a birthday weekend with family and friends and had an amazing time. The room was beautiful, spotlessly clean with everything we would need including top quality toiletries and gorgeous furnishings. The turn down service was a lovely additional touch. All staff were professional, friendly and knowledgeable especially Seb in the spa who showed us around and settled us in (very polite and attentive young man). The golf team went above and beyond and Iona from the Cameron Grill was a credit to the hotel providing our requests swiftly and professionally. From arrival we were met by the doorman with a huge smile. Will definitely return and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Overall we are disappointed with our stay. We had high expectations - this is a hotel I’ve wanted to visit for years, so we planned this whole family trip with my 2 year old daughter and mum around Cameron house. We paid £969 for 2 nights bed and breakfast in early March in a standard Loch view room. The good: very warm welcome, great check-in, mostly really lovely staff, breakfast delightful, pool nice for little ones. The bad: really difficult navigation - no easy way to find the enchanted forest for example (no signage), and despite mention of it on the website and the kiddies adventure trail booklet, staff had no idea where it was. Generally if the resort is pitched at families, help families navigate the services you offer. It was disappointing when we got there - scrubland and uncared for. No replenishment of robes in room and 15 minute delay in new ones coming on request. Shoddy attention to detail: eg light flashing on and off in room and not rectified. Slow response to any requests from room service like extra bedding - over 3 hours average response time from 2 standard requests we made (more towels, bedding). Room a bit tired; bathroom needs some regrouting or tiling. The ugly: generally a lot was incongruous with a 5 star hotel. We dined at the tavern one night and had one of the worst meals of our lives. The food quality was worse than a Wetherspoons on a good day (frozen junk) and they totally forgot our daughter’s meal - she’s 2. £20 for two gin and tonics while we waited for them to make our daughters meal they had forgot. Both nights we went to the bar to bring a bottle of wine up to share - our toddler was sleeping so mum and I wanted to enjoy a drink. The first night I was intercepted by a friendly staff member who asked me why on earth I didn’t use room service - because there is no mention of a wine list on the room service menu! Nobody could show me a wine list. It seemed to be a secret. In the end I payed £42 for a bottle of Verdejo and bought it to the room myself for fear it would take hours to arrive. The second night we had a terrible experience where my mum was ignored at the bar, offered a choice of only 2 wines by the bottle - one Chardonnay and one NZ Sauvignon at £54 a bottle and then the surly and VERY rude waiter made her go to the restaurant to purchase the wine she wanted as it was not chilled in the bar. It was white wine and £42 a bottle and it took her half an hour to buy it. Overall, this is not a 5 star resort. Details like this simply cannot be missed. Food the quality of the tavern cannot be served and a 5 star hotel does not have a wine list of only 3 wines by the bottle in its main bar and an average response time of 3 hours to any requests. I’m sure that there is nothing better within a 100 mile radius but if you’re like us and have travelled for 200 miles to get here, it’s a bit of a disappointment to say the least at a price of almost £500 a night b&b.

Stunning hotel with service to go with it. The hotel is situated in an amazing setting with lovely views over Loch Lomond. We had a loch view double room which was very nice and has everything you need. The food and drinks were amazing. Had my own whiskey tasting session with one of the bar staff. Very knowledgeable and knew his stuff. The staff are very helpful and very polite. Amazing service from all we met. Pictures do not do this place justice. 100% we will be returning.

Returned home from yet another amazing stay at Cameron House. From breathtakingly views to exquisite food, Cameron House never disappoints. We have been regular visitors for the past 27 years. As always we indulged and soaked up the luxurious amenities during another very relaxing stay. A special thank you to CJ for taking time to come away from her busy day to chat with us, Paul for being so accommodating and Nicole for her help and Sunday Roast recommendation!

First time visit, not the last! Very nice hotel on the banks of Loch Lomond. Do try the boat cruise (Celtic Warrior); Collette and Connor were excellent skipper / crew. Cameron Grill is superb for breakfast; do try the haggis! Great choice of dishes and good quality. Good parking or use the valet parking. A real competitor to Gleneagles! Well managed overall by Michael and his team!
