This place and Marisa’s cuisine is such a gem in Abruzzo. Stay and you will feel like at your momma’s house. Absolutely taken care off. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and Majella National Park. You should not miss this

We spent a wonderful evening with Marisa en-route between the West and East coasts of Italy- and how lucky we were. It takes a little work to find the house, but you will be rewarded. It was in the high 20’s outside but in the house it was lovely and cool. Marisa’s first words to us were ‘would you like a tea or a cold beer’? The rooms are simple, but incredibly clean, with a comfortable bed. We ate with 2 Dutch couples who were using the farm as a base to trek around the mountains- and that is where I come back to wear the correct shoes - it is a secret wilderness with tracks going across and around the absolutely stunning scenery- did I say they scenery was stunning? It is completely unspoilt from 60 plus years ago, Wild Orchids in the hills, meadows of wild flowers, untouched woodlands, deer, boar, bears and wolves... We ate together at a big table, local hearty food, made with local ingredients and love - even the wine. Marisa’s husband Camillo was about, but we did not see him much as he was off in the helicopter, being brave rescuing some lost hikers. His dad Paolo was there, over 90, goodness I hope I look that healthy at 90!!, he used to be the local shepherd, blacksmith, food gatherer, Carpenter, in fact he used to turn his hand to so much... We adored the place and will return with the correct footwear and go and explore the mountains x Nick & Gitte

I don't even know where to begin on how this was a perfect location for our 8 day Abruzzo Tour. Staying in this charming, immaculate agriturismo with Marisa and her family was a highlight of our tour with Majella (the name of the mountain range) Cooking and Abruzzo Tours. More about this most wonderful tour operator in the next review. Our accommodations were roomy, spotless, comfortable and very homey. Every morning there was homemade bread, jams, ricotta cheese and fresh fruit and coffee. We were welcomed with wine and had the most amazing, fresh, dinner that evening. We had two other similar dinners during the week with Abruzzo traditional foods and oh the vegetable straight from the garden. Having done most of Italy as this was my 5th trip, and the best trip of my life. I never do yoga at home in Florida, but somehow our group yoga on top of this beautiful mountain with the birds chirping and the church bells ringing was so much more fun. Marisa's 92 year old father Nonno Paulino, former shepherd and author, added to the family atmosphere and her children Viola and her son helping to serve and clean up for dinners. (Please remember to give them a few Euros for their efforts and gelato.) The last evening, Marisa with our tour hostess Michelle, planned a dream like outdoor party complete with the setting sun, twinkling lights and an Italian acapella performers. It was like being in a travel movie...a pinch me moment I will always remember. I am trying to figure out how I can live there 3 months in the summer and am planning a return trip one day soon.

My boyfriend and I spent 2 nights at this wonderful agriturismo. Marisa, Camillo, Paolo and their family welcomed us into their place (even though we did not speak Italian!) and provided us with very warm hospitality. We spent a few days learning about the Pietrantica philosophy of sustainable tourism between our days of hiking. Marisa spent time getting to know us and gave us some really helpful tips for our multi-day hike in Majella National Park. The authentic Italian dinners and breakfasts cooked by Marisa and Camillo were so delicious and our room was very comfortable with a beautiful view out across the Orfento Valley. Marisa really went the extra mile for us - picking us up from Caramanico Terme and packing us some sandwiches for one day of our hike. We would highly recommend to anyone wanting to spend a few days in this beautiful part of the world.

We stayed two nights at this agriturisimo. Marisa was a great host. We were given a very comfortable room. Wifi is available free, very difficult to pick up in the room, but not in the common room where meals are served. She has a simple breakfast, but if you want eggs (and the chickens lay them) no problem. We had an evening meal at this establishment, as well as a cooking class and meal (the whole family ate with us for the Sunday lunch we created). Both were excellent. You learn much about the grain of the region named Solina. This is a true farm to table establishment. The only thing she trades for is olive oil. The rest is grown or raised on their many acres through the mountains. It is a long drive up the road to get to this place, but once you get to the top the view is spectacular. Parking was right outside of our room. I recommend this agriturisimo quite highly,

The best words described Pietrantica are "Sweet home Pietrantica". We saw this phrase at the first moment when we came into the sitting-room. And I can say that this phrase was the leitmotif of our stay in Pietrantica. Everything was perfect! Pietrantica is a big hospitable family. Marisa (mistress of the Pietrantica) deserves special words. We won't forget agreeable evenings at the big table with the songs, delicious italian (mainly abruzzian) dishes and sweet homemade liquors! Our special thanks to Paolo (grandfather of this family) for interesting stories about past of Majella. And of course, once you visit Majella, you won't forget it!

I rated poor not because of the amenities but because of experiencing some unethical behavior from the host - including culturally insensitive jokes about my Asian friend. I expected at least apology.

We spent a weekend in the warm and friendly hospitality of Marisa and her family at Pietrantica; this is our fifth consecutive time here! The rooms are simply furnished and comfortable; free wi-fi is available in the dining room. We recommend guests dine at Pietrantica in the evening to try out the locally sourced organic food; Marisa has a new cook this year and the food was delicious - simple but full of flavour. We so wish we could cook as well as this. Our time here was limited, but the weather was good and we had two days very memorable walks in the mountains - Monte Amaro from Maielletta & Eremo San Giovanni from Decontra. The flowers at this time of year are beautiful. We highly recommend Pietrantica to anyone looking to experience staying in a small village in the Majella national park, hosted by a friendly Italian family. We would have loved to stayed longer, but we both really enjoyed our time here and will definitely return when next in the area.

The agriturismo is in the centre of a great hikingparadise. It has a big garden and a big central diningroom with long tables. The food is simpel but very good. There are selfmade biscuits and fruits from the garden on the table of wich you can take as (much) as you like. Host Marissa speaks English. The price for a big, but simple room and worn out bathroom is 140 euro (70 a person). Altough it includes all the drinks and food, is a little too high. But I am not a big drinker and eater.

This was part of our walk across the Park. It makes a fine centre for some of the best natural features of Majella. Marisa is an exceptionally welcoming host and has the ability to create a a wonderful atmosphere amongst her guests. The food was very good as was the accommodation. Will probably be back!
