We were lucky to arrive and be the only guests for 2 days in a row. We were very well treated, breakfast was great, the place is very peaceful, perfect to relax. We had dinner in a very good restaurant in Fronteira, Segredo d'Alecrim. Time and money very well spent.
lovely property, log fire , big rooms, huge breakfast , wonderful staff. we stayed only one night for a nearby event , but would definitely go back again, and could have happily stayed longer , ideally situated for cegarrega horse trials
Do make sure that you have made a note of how to find the Monte dos Aroeirais because you will not happen across it. Also do not plan on having an evening meal in Fronteira. The nearest restaurant open in the evening is in Alter do Chao, 17 km to the North. Both these things just need a little forethought however and do not let either put you off staying here. The hotel was once a house and a photograph of the late owner still sits inside. Her spirit lives on in the furnishings and the decor. The phrase "Olde Worlde Charm" does not do it justice. It is very clean, very comfortable and nothing is too much trouble for the lady who looks after the guests. Originally from Rumania, she is a gem and her breakfasts are to die for. If you want a peaceful place to rest for a night or two in this part of the Alentejo book in at Monte dos Aroeirais. You will thank me for the recommendation.…
Monte dos Aroeirais is a little hotel in Rural area located 30Km northwest from Estremoz (Alentejo). We stayed 1 night (4 couples) - the hotel has only 6 simple (but nice, spacious and clean) rooms. Breakfast was included and it was plenty of home made jams, delicious bread, fresh orange juice, regional cheese.... It has also a little swimming pool, and a lot of space outside to rest or to walk within the lordship.
