Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped by for lunch after visiting the Cape Coast Castle. The resort is charming with a beautiful ocean view. The fresh coconut water is the same price as bottled water, so we got a bunch of that and asked for shots of rum on the side to make our own cocktails (better than their own cocktail list).

Our issue was the wait time for our meal. We arrived at 2:53 pm but didn’t get our meal until 4:50 pm. The server kept telling us that the meal was coming when in fact, the kitchen didn’t start making them until 4:30 pm. We even spoke to the manager, but he didn’t do anything about it. The right way for the restaurant to handle this would be to comp us for our drinks…but that didn’t happen.

The food was tasty, but I am not sure if I would want to come back again unless I have the entire day to burn.

Some places grown on you, feel right revisiting every now and then, even when they annoy you with some things. Such is the rustic Anomabo Beach Resort with a peaceful ambiance, slow pace of life, and even slower service. "It's coming Sah" is the familiar refrain. It is the freshly plucked coconut water, tasty grills and amazingly fresh seafood that takes the sting away from this one. Plus, the people are undeniably lovely.

Watching fishing boats come in after days at sea bring Ato Delaquis'paintings to life. Such is life on the beach, drinking coconut water, watching the tides come in; wondering when El Niño became La Niña; thinking, will these boulders the government is putting on the beach really save the resort, the village, or the town?

At such times nothing but the moment counts. Breath. Life. Gratitude.

The place is wonderful, bungalows scattered on the beach and easy chairs facing the ocean, although it would be nice to have a foot path going around instead of carrying sand everywhere including of course your room. The bungalows are spacious, with A/C (there is a general switch on the wall before you can use your remote) but they don’t check the batteries, so my remote stopped working at 9pm and I couldn’t modify anything. There were towels and some toiletries, and hot water. The Wifi did work. The restaurant was terrible, most dishes were unavailable, the service was slow and sloppy, Breakfast was poor too.

Having, in the past , had an enjoyable meal at Anomabo Beach Resort, we decided to take a group of friends & family there for an early evening meal. There were 7 of us.
It was very quiet with only 3 other couples there.
We weren’t greeted on arrival and had to rearrange the tables to fit us all.
We eventually gave our drink orders. After 25 mins 2 Club beers appeared. The rest of us waited nearly half an hour more for ours.
We attempted to order but in total 11 requested items were unavailable!
4 of us wanted starters but only 3 turned up after another 45 mins.
One couple ordered kenkey & tilapia, a local dish to be told there was no kenkey so they agreed on banku. When their meals eventually arrived after nearly another hour, they were served kenkey!
One friend actually had nothing to eat at all after his order was forgotten. He had nothing .
We gave up after 3 hours & eventually had to speak to the owner on the phone to negotiate a discount due to the terrible experience.
As we left our friend was called back to be given his meal in a takeaway box.
We left extremely disappointed and angry.

Came here for lunch. I saw earlier reviews that said that food service was slow, but I was hoping it had improved. Lol it hasn’t .

We got there at 1pm and got our food at 2:45pm for food for 3 people. 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾 it should not take that long. Please improve this!

We had to leave at 3, so had to scarf our food down in a few mins! Not relaxing at all!

This is a great resort. The accommodations are clean, the hotel staff is friendly and helpful, there’s a nice restaurant on the premises and best of all, you’re on the beach facing the Atlantic Ocean. I’d definitely go back again.

Delicious food and relaxed atmosphere in exotic surroundings. The staff are really nice and friendly. This is a fantastic place, where we have been 7-8 times. First time in 2003. We would love to come back.

Stepping into this resort, my group members and I did not know what to expect. However, we were greeted by nice staff members that took our luggages to our place of stay. Our room was nice and clean when we first arrived and we were so happy to hear that there was air conditioning because it could get really hot at times. Our rooms were also maintained by staff members during our stay. There is Wi-Fi, but it is only available in the reception area. Anomabo Beach Resort was always peaceful, with views over the sea and a nice breeze. Sometimes, I would just like to stand on the balcony and take in the beautiful environment. Besides these things, there were more things that made me enjoy my stay. Most of the staff members I met were very friendly. I spoke to a few security guards from time to time and they were very nice. You see, my group members and I came on a mission trip to help underdeveloped communities in Ghana and we wanted to learn some of the language and learn more about the culture of Ghana. The receptionist, Justice at Anomabo Beach Resort took his time and taught us a little Fante so that we would be able to communicate with the people we were going to help in the communities. He talked to us and engaged in conversations and inquired about our stay and how we thought the place could be better. Justice, the receptionist was the icing on the cake to this already beautiful environment. All staff members demonstrated the meaning of hospitality and I would definitely stay here again !

Our two week tour of Ghana ended here and it was the best hotel we stayed in. Our room was clean, simply but stylishly furnished, with comfortable beds and good shower. The location is fabulous, right on the beach and the staff have obviously all been thoroughly trained in customer service. The food was fine with lots of sea food options as well as Ghanaian dishes, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Loved it.
