Woodhall Country Park hotel garners appreciation for its well-maintained lodges and facilities, with particular praise for the daily upkeep, though some guests point out minor oversights. The lodges are celebrated for their roominess and modern comforts, including the popular addition of hot tubs, despite the extra charge for Wi-Fi. The atmosphere at the hotel is deemed inviting, with a lively street food and bar scene enhancing the experience. Service is generally regarded as warm and attentive, despite occasional lapses. However, some guests feel the overall value doesn't quite match the cost, especially regarding additional amenities.

We went here on a last minute trip, neither of us had ever visited the Lincolnshire area, so were not sure what to expect - apart from the hour or so research I'd done before hand. This place from start to finish was one of the best breaks we'd had in a long time! The park itself is very clean, tidy and well maintained. The staff were so friendly and went out of their way to sort out any issues we had - John especially was amazing, he even helped us out when he was meant to be off duty! We stayed in a lakeside lodge for 6 people (although there was only 2 of us with 2 dogs). This was very spacious and would not have felt cramped even with 8 adults. It was meticulously clean, beds and bedding super comfy all with pillow and mattress protectors, well equipped kitchen, comfortable sofas, thoughtful extras like binoculars and bird book, playing cards and a game, a real home from home feel. There was even two lovely clean beds and bowls for the dogs on our arrival. Highlight for us was the hot tub on the deck (and we have a hot tub at home). We walked 5 or so miles every morning and then picked up lunch on way back in one of the many cafes, pubs on high street (highly recommend Kitchenette cafe). But sitting in the hot tub at different times of the day, watching all the wildlife on the lake was just so relaxing. We didn't do half the things on offer, as it really was an R &R few days for us. The Kinema in the woods I'll definitely visit next time ( we are already planning a trip back), the town itself has so much interesting history I want to research before we go again. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Woodhall Country Park to anyone. The only very small issue is wifi and phone signal, we struggled a bit at times as phone signal was a bit hit and miss and the wifi was through Camp connect, you get one hour free a day and then a small charge there after - but we actually found we switched off more without it, but if you were dependent on it while you were away it might be difficult.

We stayed in Lodge 13 (Premium Pet). This lodge lives up to its name so long as the inside of the lodge is concerned. The lodge has two king sized bedrooms both with ensuite. The lounge dining room is equipped with three sofas (one sofa bed). Kitchen has everything you would need.
That is the upside. We had two valid criticisms. Firstly, the WiFi. The WiFi is provided by Camping Connect and is absolutely woeful. The Park staff simply wash their hands of it when we complained saying it is not our problem, contact Camping Connect. Which I did. The technician was as helpful as he could be but could not solve the problem remotely. The problem is that the transmitter at the park is not powerful enough to cover the park. I paid for 4 devices for a week at a cost of £20.90. My advice is, don't bother. Take advantage of the one hour a day free connection. It might work it might not. Whilst the park washes its hands of all responsibility, it is quick to advertise WiFi access to draw clients in.
Secondly, because the hot tub is situated at the back of the lodge, you have an enormous deck area furnished only with what can only described as a camping table, the sort of table you find in a rest area in the countryside. There is no shelter from the sun as this lodge hs no awning so you get sun burnt sitting on a wooden plank. If the weather is supposed to be good, take your own folding chairs and a parasol with you. Whilst the lodge and the park is nice, it IS NOT good value for money.

This was the best Lodge we have stayed in. It was cleaned to a very high standard and the hot tub was big and good quality. The lodge was fully equipped with everything we needed plus more - towels and bath robes, hand wash at every sink, shower gel and shampoos. Tea,coffee, sugar & milk, kitchen roll, toilet rolls, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, dish cloth and a tea towel and a dog bed.The lodges are spaced well apart so plenty of privacy, the view from our bedroom was lovely. The site was very peaceful (especially as winter) and nice to walk around with our 11 year old labrador. The adventure playground looked perfect for our 5 year old but unfortunately it was too wet. Great location just up the road from Jubilee park and 10 min walk to all the shops etc. Our phones did work but only outside on the veranda and it was too cold to be stood around. Therefore, we paid £12 to have WiFi for 3 days for 3 devices. We never had an issue with it, it worked perfectly fine just had to pay by PayPal as wouldn't accept card. I would definitely book again and would like to try a different time of year. However, the price is coming up £250 more next year for the same week.

We came to the site on the understanding that the facilities were fully open. However, when we got here we learnt that you could only use the showers between the hours of 9.30am and 4.30pm and then only on the condition that you booked in advance (but not before 9.00am on the day you want to have a shower!) No good for us wanting an early morning shower or for us coming back from the beach at 6pm with two very sandy and salty kids!

If this wasn't bad enough they changed the system mid way through the week so people could book in advance resulting in us not being able to shower until lunchtime at the earliest each day! The site are only operating 4 shower rooms across the whole site as they have closed the showers in the main facility blocks. While I understand the need for some Covid rules, it makes no sense that they are so rigid on the showers yet they do not require guests to wear face masks when visiting the toilets!!!

My guess is that the managers want to make it so difficult for you to use their shower facilities that you don't! If we had known this we would have gone to another touring park. We have been to plenty during the pandemic, most of which applied common sense to their system!

Good luck if you do stay here during Covid restrictions!

We won't be coming back!

We arrived in our Campervan after a hot 4 hour trip to a friendly greeting which then went downhill very fast. We were told you had to book a twenty minute slot for a shower because according to government guidance, the showers had to be cleaned after every use!!! It was 4pm, so I said could I book one today? No, there is no one to clean them now. Okay (not), can I book one for tomorrow morning? No you’ll have to come back to the reception at 9am when we open. You might not get a ‘slot’ until mid afternoon, so we either don’t have a shower or don’t go out for a full day. We got to our pitch and set up, not happy. I went to the nearest toilet block and the showers were open but the shower heads had been removed!!! There are 4 shower blocks with 2 male, 2 female and a family room per block, so plenty of showers could have been available. The park charged a full rate for camping which was pretty much full for the three nights we were there but couldn’t employ enough staff to clean the shower blocks. They didn’t need to be cleaned after every use and we weren’t told that they were operating this system until we arrived! We also found that they had sent an email stating this whilst we were travelling but we obviously didn’t see that whilst travelling. There was no mention of these restrictions when we booked, we would have booked somewhere else instead. They take your money but don’t offer the services. And all this COVID 19 precaution business, nothing else was being enforced, no signs saying wear a mask in communal areas or sinks and toilets being blocked off to maintain social distancing, it was a free for all!!!
The park is lovely though, by the way!

Woodhall country park is a nice site in a nice setting however our break away has been ruined by the shambolic way In how its run. I am all for careful covid measures as I work in the public sector, I have seen the affects and have followed strict guidelines at work since it started but this site its rules for the sake of rules with no common sense applied.

The main issue is the showers, when we arrived from our hot sweaty 5 hour drive I found I was unable to have a shower, you have to book on the day though reception and you can only shower in reception opening times, we were told we were emailed but no email was received. I was not overly happy about it but dutifully went to reception at 9am the following morning and booked my shower with the earliest being 10:40... what a waste of a beautiful day!
While at reception I was told that they were not allowing people to book in advance as it allows one or two people to block the showers earlier in the day, although I felt the situation was utterly ridiculous it was a fair way to deal with it.
Today I have gone down to book a shower and they have allowed people to block book the showers in advance so there is nothing until 12 noon... something they told me they were not doing so one rule for one and different rules for others.
I was told its a Lincolnshire Council decision not the site but we have visited two other sites in the area and no such restrictions are in place. And while you cannot have a shower due to restrictions where they say the showers need to be cleaned everytime they are used, you can follow someone into a toilet cubicle, stand shoulder to shoulder at the urinals and sinks.

I really wish I had not bothered, we have already wasted so much of our break due to the ridiculous rules that no other sites are applying.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom lodge with a hot tub (3 adults and 2 kids). The place was spotless when we arrived and the hot tub huge and hot. There is a nice spot out front with the hot tub and picnic bench, both under cover so you can enjoy whatever the weather. Check-in took seconds - you pull up outside and the lovely lady brings your key out to you. All the basics were there….washing up liquid, hand soaps, loo roll, dishwasher tablets, tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper and a pint of milk in the fridge. There was a lovely spacious fridge and separate freezer so plenty of room. We stayed in lodge 1 which had a great view of the lake but some others had small trees in front. We thought it was private enough although expect fishermen to be sitting near your lodge. Dogs have to be on leads except in the exercise area and its quiet time after 11pm. There is a path through the field on to the main road to woodhall spa, or a woodland path off monument road that runs alongside a golf course and ends at the cafe and kinema in the woods, which you can carry on to get to the shops and museum at woodhall spa. We would definitely recommend. Wifi was hit and miss….not good in the lodge but better outside. You get 1 hr free per device per day.

Stayed here for a long weekend in one of the lodges. The staff were so friendly on arrival, the lodge was spotless with everything you could possibly need and was a very high quality. The hot tub was great fun. Lovely grounds to explore and walk around. Have stayed previously in the campsite and find it far superior to the other woodhall campsites. We have visited all the other campsites in Woodhall and would not stay anywhere else.

Recently stayed as a family in one of their pet friendly lodges with hot tub. The lodge itself could have been cleaner and a couple of things didn't work (which we reported) but overall it was very nice. The hot tub in particular was hot and cleaned every day of our stay and is a must for those who enjoy them. There is no phone signal or internet in the lodge itself nor could we get the sites own internet, but step outside and all signals are there. Our stay was very peaceful both during the day and night. The tv was decent and there is the ability to obtain Netflix if you take your own sign in details. The site itself is quite extensive and there are a couple of areas you can let a well behaved dog off its lead. The Country Park itself is about a 15 minute walk from the Petwood Hotel (dogs aren't allowed inside) and 30 minutes walk into Woodhall Spa. A special mention about the staff who were all friendly and helpful. We will be making a return visit at some point.

We've stayed at Woodhall Country Park on a touring caravan pitch several times over the years, our first stay being shortly after it opened. Since then the park and its accommodation has grown significantly, now including glamping and lodges.

The site is a pleasant woodland setting which, although close to the main road, feels nicely isolated and you do feel like you could be much further away from civilisation .

The toilet block is well appointed and usually clean, although there aren't really enough facilities to cope with peak times. They also seem to close for cleaning at the most inopportune times - occasionally we'd head for showers after breakfast at around 10 to find them closed.

Woodhall Spa is a great little town with some interesting ww2 history, and enough shops to keep you supplied on your stay.

Although we enjoyed our stay, the site has lost some of its appeal since our earlier visits. The cause of this seems to be the rapid expansion without improving the customer service accordingly. There seems to be no shortage of staff, constantly driving to and fro in golf buggies, but they don't seem interested in the customers staying on the site and the personal touch you will be familiar with on smaller sites (and that used to be present here also) is now gone. There were a couple of occasions during our stay where we needed help from site staff and it was conspicuously absent. The end result being you felt like your staying on the site was seen as inconvenient to the running of the park.

It's a shame as this was a great site, but we'll perhaps seek out a smaller site with more friendly and accommodating staff next time we're in the area.
