Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The whole experience was seamless, from the booking, the timely responses to queries prior to arrival, check-in and check-out, and everything inbetween. Massive shout out to a few special people. Stefan our driver, you were such a stand-out for our group. You did everything to make our experience comfortable and ensured we had close encounters with the most beautiful animals which will be etched in our minds for years to come. Zee, your team and yourself were so friendly and did everything possible to make sure all our needs were met. Thankyou ! I can't recommend this place enough, the staff, the rooms, the food if I could give it more than 5 stars I would. I'll be back again hopefully with the extended family. Thanks again for a wonderful time.

My stay at Lions Valley Lodge was truly unforgettable. The rooms were so beautifully presented and were in the most stunning setting. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was exceptional. The food was so incredibly delicious with too often finding ourselves overeating at every meal. It was just too good to not! Our safari guide, Stefan, was not only meticulous but also incredibly enthusiastic about ensuring everyone's safari dreams came true. He led us on exhilarating adventures through the wilderness, where we had up-close and personal encounters with magnificent animals. But it wasn't just Stefan who made our stay extraordinary. Zee, who attended to our every need at the lodge, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. No request was too much for her to handle, and her warm hospitality made our experience even more memorable. Whether it was arranging special meals or addressing any concerns, Zee was always there to make sure everything was perfect.

We travelled with 2 friends for 4 nights and every day was a memorable one. Thanks to Audrey and here staff and Reinhard and his rangers for the most memorable of holidays. Having just read some of the other reviews, I am at my wits end to know what to add. The three days we spent at Lions Valley were just fantastic - exceeding all expectations at every level. So so comfortable in the lodges, really attentive staff, great food and drink and above all, the special experience of being driven around by Greg. What a knowledge base and what pleasure he gets from talking his guests through what he finds to show them. We left absolutely exhilerated by our time at Lions Valley. To repeat if at all possible - we have no hesitation in giving Lions Valley the highest possible recommendation.

We had a most enjoyable stay at Lions Valley Lodge Ladysmith. From the moment the Game ranger met us at the Car Park we felt very much at home. We want to thank the staff each and every one. for their contribution to ensure an unforgettable weekend. Every meal was prepared and served with much love. The accommodation exceeds your wildest imagination of 5*. The Game drives was a most enjoyable adventure every day. The other 2 couples who joined us on all the game drives were absolutely hilarious. The Game Ranger was the best we ever experienced at a Game Lodge. We will spread the word, that a visit to Lions Valley is a "must do" on your bucket list. We will be back.

Beautiful lodge, views are amazing from rooms and Lodge! Game viewing was exceptional and so was our Ranger Stephan. Spa was excellent, felt totally spoilt! Food was delicious.. best part was having the Lions close to the camp and hearing them roar at night..

We spent an amazing 3 nights in the Livingstone Suite at Lions Valley Lodge. From our arrival to our departure we were looked after superbly. The service at the bar and in the restaurant was 100%. Bianca our ranger was 110%, we saw so many animals. I missed an early morning drive but on the afternoon drive we saw 4 male lions (my no 1 ask). The suite and it's verandah were huge and we saw impala and kudu just strolling by. I would highly recommend a visit to Lions Valley and I would love to return one day.

Our spacious rooms were fantastic and had everything we needed including superb views from the deck. Food was excellent and the bar was well stocked and very relaxed and right next to the swimming pool and waterhole viewing area. Our game guide was very informative on the “little creatures “ who are often as interesting as the headline Big 5.

Ronny0 thank you for your review. It is always great to hear that guests have enjoyed their stay with us. I agree with you, learning about the "little creatures" and the flora is almost more interesting than facts about the bigger animals. We look forward to being able to welcome you back to Lions Valley Lodge.

We had an amazing 3 night stay at Lions Valley lodge! We stayed at Nambiti as part of a big family reunion trip in various stops through South Africa and Lions Valley was one of our favourite parts of the trip. The lodge is beautiful. The pool deck and bar and Boma area are modern yet fit in with the surroundings and the individual lodges are amazing! The room really was spectacular with the two showers, baths and huge, comfortable bed. We also were quite lucky and saw a few animals passing by from our private deck. All the staff were fab but our ranger Bianca was top class. We enjoyed all 6/6 game drives offered and managed to see 4/5 big 5 with plenty of other animals as well. We had some amazing encounters with Elephants, Rhinos, Hippos, Giraffes and we got so lucky with three separate Lion encounters all up very close. The food we had over the 4 days was 10/10. Every meal whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner was very good. We certainly never went hungry. We couldn’t have enjoyed our time any more. We’ll hopefully be back one day!

Thank you Katie for your lovely review. It’s great to know that we added to your big family reunion and that you enjoyed all that Lions Valley has to offer. You will have to come back to see the one Big 5 that you did not manage to see. It’s been so hot lately, I’m sure the swimming pool was put to good use. Take care and travel back safely to Scotland.
