Certificate of Excellence
A secluded boutique island retreat with luxurious touches befitting an exclusive island resort. Intimate, with only 16 spacious, incredibly private pool villas makes this resort unique. But it is the intangible aspects of this barefoot luxury retreat that sets it aside and offers an indulgent escape for true romantics.

We returned to Royal Davui for a 9 night holiday and had an amazing stay. The spectacular beauty of the location combined with such friendly and helpful staff makes this our favourite holiday destination. Beautiful food and drinks (cocktails!!) added to our enjoyment.

The resort is the Island. Unique in this regard. Food was excellent and the staff wonderful. It's a risky time of the year to travel to the Fiji islands at this time of the year because of the weather and we had mixed weather making it tricky getting on and off the Island but

Fabulous get away right from the start, super friendly staff and a welcome so overwhelming! On arrival (and also departure), the staff gathered and sang a beautiful Fijian song which after the long trip there (plane, light aircraft, car and then boat ride) was such a heart

Bula Linda B, 1. Technically yes, February is hurricane season, however its not something you should be overly concerned with. If there is a hurricane coming we're able to see it days in advance and can take the appropriate action there. We always recommend guests take out full comprehensive travel insurance as any disruptions can be claimed back this way. 2. Transfers to Davui currently run at FJD525 pp one way (about USD250) for the Plane/Launch and FJD1350 pp one way (about USD650) for the helicopter. The resort region is not serviced by any commercial airlines. However this remote location is what sets us apart. The fact we're away from the islands that are located near the airport means that we don't have commercial planes flying overhead or other resort boats passing around the island. I hope that has all helped, if you need any more assistance, please visit our official resort website where we have a live chat feature. Apologies, TripAdvisor will now allow us to add in the URL to our website. Vinaka Royal Davui Island Resort, Fiji

We were there the last week of February. There was a pretty significant storm that came through before about arrival. Parts of Fiji were without power and there were downed trees etc. We had two full days of rain and a couple days of afternoon or evening rain. Lots of sun and blue sky as well! We loved it, hung out in our vale and watched the weather.

Bula Vinaka, Tropical Cyclone Keni passed very close to Royal Davui bringing down th three large trees and wiping out the resort jetty. Thankfully all staff were safe and there was no structural damage to any of the villas or buildings. We have started the process of rebuilding the jetty but will be doing beach transfers until the new jetty is in place. Vinaka Chris Southwick

Bula Vinaka Maci F, Thank you for your question. It's pretty standard practice in Fiji for hotels to request that you do not tip individual staff members. There are so many hidden faces to the resort that work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure you stay is wonderful. We have a staff fund that you are welcome to contribute to at the end of your staff if you wish. This fund is then distributed equally among all the staff at the end of the year. Vinaka Chris

"Depending on whether you love sunrises or sunsets, your room position will give you options."
"the sunset rooms are great- siting on the deck watching the sunset is wonderful. Be aware that these rooms do get hot in the afternoon"
"Villa 3 is the sunset suite, amazing view."

"I suspect any vale will leave you breathless. We stayed in Vale 5, and for a brief time, Vale 6. Both are amazing."
