This was a great choice for my daughter and me doing a quick trip to Naples, Pompeii and the Amalfi coast. The train was just a minute or two away and pretty much on time. Just make sure to check the platform, we were caught out a couple of times and had to run fast! It's not always obvious. Italy in general is very light on advice.
Communication with Alberto was fantastic, he was welcoming, a mine of information and keen to see that all was well for our visit.
The accommodations were perfect in that we had two rooms, each with a queen size bed (with lovely cotton sheets), small kitchenette and very clean but tight bathroom (just shower gel available so bring shampoo etc. There is a hairdryer). The rooms overlooked the street so it could be noisy in the mornings. I loved the shutters on the windows which allowed for them to be open for the fresh air and give darkness and privacy. Wifi was mostly fine.
Breakfast was ample. We're not packaged goods eaters (typical breakfast food apparently in Italy) but enjoyed the cornflakes in the morning and cookies on return from our sightseeing. There is coffee, tea etc everything you need. We loved the lemon in the fridge from the garden! Bottled water etc was replenished as necessary and the homemade Limoncello was the best ever!

Villa Pollio was the final stop for us on our 3 week trip to Italy. It is listed as a bed and breakfast but it really isn't. That's not necessarily a bad thing but the "breakfast" is what you make in your own room, which contains a small kitchenette. They provide you with lost of bread/pastry products, coffee, milk, juice and a few other things. That was perfect for us but if you're expecting a buffet in the house dining room - it's not going to happen. Alberto met us at the door - a nice guy who speaks fairly decent English. He lives in the house and I am guessing his parents do as well. You won't see them again while you stay there since there is no real reception area. If you have a question - you just ring the doorbell. We were escorted to our room upstairs. It was fine. The room was a good size. The shower is quite small and if you're a large person you will have difficulty getting in and moving around inside.
Overall, this place was ample. It is around the corner from the train station. If this is your first time in the Sorrento area please note that this is META (not Sorrento). If you want to be in downtown Sorrento don't stay here. Meta is just 3 train stops (15 minutes including wait time) to Sorrento. That was fine for us. Meta has the beaches and Sorrento is better for evening/dinner/strolling. So if you want to do the beach during the day and go into Sorrento in the evening - this is perfect. If you want to do the beaches a lot stay here as well. It's also a decent place if you're staying long term. If you're doing the Amalfi Coast you'll have to take the train to Sorrento and switch to the SITA bus line although there are a couple of buses that do go to the Amalfi coast through Meta - check the schedules. Your Circumvesuviana train card will from Meta can also cover your SITA bus fare to anywhere along Amalfi.
Anyway, Villa Pollio is a nice, well located place with little fanfare. It's great for a couple of days or a week if you're not planning on staying indoors. The view is pretty dull. The place basically served its purpose for us. You pay when you leave - in cash.

Alberto was an extremely helpful and friendly host who went out of his way to make our trip great even coordinating a surprise visit from our friends. Our room was very big and included a dining area, kitchen, bathroom & balcony with table & chairs and felt cosy and typically Italian. It was very clean and stocked with items for a continental breakfast and tea & coffee. The location was ideal being minutes away from the train station so made trips to Sorrento (3 stops down), Pompeii & Herculaneum, in the other direction, very easy. Last train back from Sorrento was about 9.30 but buses ran later.
We caught the bus from the airport (10 euros each way) which stops about 5 minutes walk up the road. We took boat trips from Sorrento to go to Amalfi & Capri - all beautiful and caught the bus from Amalfi up to Revello (even walked back down!). We loved Meta too and enjoyed the little pizza place, tico tico & a little cafe near the lift. The beach is lovely and great for a quiet chilled day. A great find!

We visited Villa Pollio for 5 nights and could not fault it at all.
Albert the property's owner could not of been better if he tried. He was extremely helpful and always went out of his way to assist and even gave us a taste of his own limoncellos made from the lemon trees in the back garden.
It is located in a great position to visit all the amazing places nearby.
The property was always clean and we were in a room that was actually for self catering. Food (Continental breakfast; cereal/croissants/biscuits etc) bottled water and juice was provided on a daily basis which worked really well for us.

There wasn't much or anything to fault at Villa Pollio and would visit here again

Thank you Albert for having us

I stayed in Villa Pollio in Meta for 5 nights. The location is very good. Cross street to the Meta train station less than 5 minutes walk under the tunnel. Then 5 minutes train to Sorrento.
The villa building is beautiful and the traditional Italian kitchen in the floor zero is very interesting to see.
The best thing I like it is it is so quiet. I had very good sleep for 5 nights. I rarely heard anybody. As solo woman traveler I felt very safe there as well.

The room is clean and big with bedroom and living room. There are breakfast stuff and water, juice milk in the room.
The owner Alberto is super helpful and very friendly. He is one of the best Italian I have ever met during my twice Italy trips. He gave one small bottle of Limoncello to try.

I visited friends who rented villa in the center of Sorrento. They paid $10,000 for 14 days right in the city center. It is so noisy there. I like Villa Pollio better because it is quiet and easy train ride. And the price is awesome.

I strongly recommended Villa Pollio to my friends and will definitely stay there again if I go South Italy again.

Villa Pollio at Meta was the first stop for our tour to the Amalfi coast. For us it was the best place to start because you have good connection to the local bus or train for travelling for instance to Sorrento, Vesuvio or Pompeji. It would be better to leave the car and use the public transportation.
Albert is very friendly and helpful and provided us with good tips and advices.
Especially the recommendations for two Restaurants (La Conca and TicoTico) were very good.
The room was great and clean with a small balcony so that you can take the breakfest at the balcony and enjoy the good weather.

So we could enjoy 3 wonderfull days,

This b&b superceeded my expectations! You are given a self contained apartment with an assortment of breakfast items (including a complimentary bottle of limoncello!). Albert makes you feel very welcome and was accommodating to my needs - he let me leave my suitcase when I had a late return flight, later checkout time when I wasn’t feeling well, recommendations of the local area etc. As a female solo traveller, I felt very safe in the area and was happy to wander around at night on my own. The apartment is a short walk to the beach and restaurants and an even shorter walk to the train station to reach places like Sorrento, Pompeii and Naples. All in all, 10 out of 10, would certainly recommend!
