What an awesome Blessing it was to stay in the Castle Oviglio hotel for two days. Dating back to the 1300's surrounded by a quint Oviglio Village situated in the Italian wine region. A perfect fusion - past and the present. Staff is very friend and helpful. Nice breakfast with good strong Italian coffee. Rooms and bathrooms are big and...

We have stayed twice at the Castello di Oviglio. Found it by chance the first time, and made a point to come back. Rooms are fabulous, massive, hugely high ceilings, modern and well equipped bathrooms, some with jacuzzis. Each one is different, a bit quirky but excellent value. The property is very quiet with its own large grounds and in...

We stopped off for one night on our drive down to Umbria. This is an old, traditional type of castle with impressive interior. It is set in some lovely grounds in a quiet location not too far from the motorway. However it is in desperate need of renovation to bring it back up to the level it deserves. We had...

Agree with other comments that the hotel is shabby chic .. perhaps more shabby than chic ... but they had a large wedding reception that started around 7pm and the stragglers were still keeping us awake at 4.30am !! Also enjoyed the church bells going off on the half hour every half hour ... not The restaurant to be fair...

Amazing location, interesting building with many changes over the centuries Now mainly used as a wedding venue in the summer months, our stay coincided with a Saturday night wedding with fireworks and dancing until the early hours which did not disturb us as our room was on the other side of the building although dinner was slow to arrive presumably...

Would we come again? No. Booked a Junior suite as we wanted more space. Third floor room was huge with separate TV area bath and shower, walk-in closet bed area large with table and chairs and mini bar with free beer and water. This seems to be a popular wedding location otherwise is very quiet. Restaurant quiet but very average....

From the moment we arrived the service in this hotel was excellent. It seems to be run by about 4 people, but together they ensure that all your needs are met and you are given individual attention. We had a lovely room at the top of the castle and although in places it was a little tired, this did not...

Well off the beaten path, this hotel in a real castle was amazing, beautiful, very enjoyable. We had a large room with en suit the size of a small apartment. Dinner at the castle that evening was fantastic, with views of the valley below, the farms, woods, horses. If you're looking to enjoy castle life, even for a day, this...

This hotel is a little off the beaten path but well worth the visit. Set in an old castle, the rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated with antiques. The hotel offers all the modern comforts including high speed free wifi, spacious bathrooms and cable tv with many language channels. The service and attention to the customer however remain pleasantly old fashioned and...

“All rooms seem to offer great views and very quiet.”

“the rooms are a mix of modern and antique, persoally i would have preferred the ancient variety, however as we wre travelling with our daughter the only rooms which featured an extra bed were the modern ones. The rooms are extremely spacious, we stayed on the 3rd floor, it was extremly quiet, except for the cooing of the pigeons - which our cats found very interesting. The top floor is dark having not a lot of natural light, but the bathroom was top of the line, a real surprise in asuch an ancient property.”
