We go to Italy and holiday frequently. Having not been to Sicily before I thought we would give it a go.
When looking for places to stay we landed on The Best Western and liked what we saw about the Hotel.
We returned to the UK on Monday (26 Jun) after a full week of exploring the Island. (not nearly enough time)

Our hire car from Catania airport broke down en route 10km from the hotel. The hire company we're unhelpful and gave a number for a recovery firm to pick up the vehicle.
We called the hotel and the reception staff were incredibly helpful. They arranged for a taxi to pick up my partner to the hotel, I waited for recovery.
The recovery arrived some 3 hours later and took the car back to Cartania leaving me roadside. The hotel arranged for another taxi to pick me up.

The hotel is in a beautiful setting, quiet and very clean. The room has more than enough space and facilities, we were on B&B basis but ate in the hotel in the evening.
Again, the reception staff were wonderful and arranged for a local car hire company to deliver a car to the hotel, considerably cheaper than at the airport, a better car that was more comfortable.
The swimming pool is in a prime position with uninterrupted views out to sea and the hotel backdrop is equally wonderful.
The food was always presented beautifully and we never had a meal we didn't enjoy, the waiting staff were very attentive.

The litmus test, would we go and stay there again, absolutely we would.

We stayed here for a week in April 2022. In fact I think we were first guests of the season to arrive.

The hotel is in a beautiful location set well back from the main road and with enough height to create fabulous views across the sea with views all the way to Stromboli. The rooms are clean and modern (get a sea view room if you can). Excellent breakfasts included and a very decent evening restaurant menu which changes daily.

What makes the experience is the very special team that run the hotel. It's not a huge hotel and the service feels personal and friendly. Many thanks to Valentine on front desk who was always there to help, but we found every member of staff to be friendly courteous and keen to provide exceptional service.

If you are looking to stay in this area, this must be one of the best hotels. Highly recommended.

Fabulous relaxing break taken in this beautiful enclave in the hills. Fantastic service with friendly staff. We had a one year old in our party and they couldn’t be more accommodating and friendly. Rooms were spacious and immaculately clean. Pool has a fabulous view looking over the sea. Set in a green garden, it was so peaceful having dinner in the restaurant with Impeccable service. We were provided with a late check out to accommodate our little one and a free taxi service for our little jaunt to a local restaurant. The one and only drawback is that a shuttle service isn’t in operation currently and the local town has little to offer. A car therefore is a must! Thank you for a fabulous stay. Little Sonny Ray had a ball!

A wonderful hotel, not far from the sea, in the middle of the green hills of Sicily. We have booked Comfort Room, and the room was very modern, clean & very nicely furnished. Staff is very friendly and the breakfast buffet is with lots of fresh and delicious food. By car you reach Mongiove beach within 4 minutes (if you know the shortcuts. Pool is great, garden too. I can absolutely recommend and will book again next time we will visit Sicily.

Clean hotel. Friendly staff great breakfast and evening meals
Sabrina one of the ladies in the restaurant deserves a special mention for her friendly efficient manner
It would have been 5 but for the bar which isn't manned all the time and ensure you ask for the list of attractions from reception. We only got this when we asked for recommendations. It lists restaurants too
Overall though these 2 minor points would not put us off returning

We booked this hotel for four nights in July with the half-board dining option. Overall, we felt that this hotel should be lovely. The reviews seem to be great, and the views are beautiful. However, we found a lot of the reality to be disappointing.

Positives:

The room we were given was clean, extremely comfortable, and had a spacious balcony with a wonderful sea view. The trip celebrated our 5th anniversary and we were welcomed with a complimentary bottle of spumante. The reception staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast was good, with a large range of different items, and the pool setting was very pretty.

Negatives:

Getting half-board at this hotel is a mistake. Firstly - it doesn't include any beverages and this includes water, which is generously priced at 3.50 euros a bottle. Furthermore, we found the dinner service to be really poor. The waiters spoke very little English and often ignored us - we didn't know if this was because we were English, but we certainly felt very disregarded after four nights. The menu is very similar each night - for the four nights we stayed, swordfish and grouper were on the menu every night. A side of 'potato chips', which would cost 5 euros, was a few crisps put on a plate, and when I ordered the 'burger' one night it was literally just the beef patty, undercooked, on some rocket.

As well as the evening menu being poor, the pool menu was similarly disappointing. Options were limited and extremely expensive. It was only salads and sandwiches (a salad at about 14 euros), and if you don't have a car it's impossible to go anywhere else.

The hotel advertises a spa with a sauna etc, but this is not available for guests unless they book it for one hour for the insane price of 50 euros (for the one hour!). This was not well advertised when we booked. The hotel 'gym' is also basic, there was no air conditioning making exercising a challenge and the treadmill was broken leaving just two other machines.

The hotel also advertises a complimentary beach club. We were disappointed when we went to the 'beach club' as it is essentially a bar with a few plastic chairs about 100 yards back from the beach. Moreover, if you want to go by the sea, they then proceed to charge you for an umbrella or sun beds.

It's worth saying as well that despite the great views out onto the sea, the hotel is not in a wonderful location, with the portion below our rooms a building site with construction debris left around.

It's a shame to leave a negative review, as we were very excited to stay here, but unfortunately the stay was just not as positive as we had hoped, and we feel there are better priced options in other, more exciting areas of sicily.

This hotel is still in development! Whilst the main building is complete the gardens are unfinished and the level of staffing is insufficient for the number of guests.

As a starting point this hotel is fairly remotely situated so unless you want to sit around the pool all day, albeit with great views then you need a car! Flying into Catania airport you need to allow a good two hours to get to the hotel. Arriving at the hotel mid afternoon meant that options for any kind of light meal were limited and our only option was to have what was available - "toast" at the pool bar. The rooms are a reasonable size and well equipped. Niggles in the bedroom included shower doors that did not close properly resulting in a flooded bathroom unless you are able to hold the doors closed as you shower! The balcony on the room was very small - enough to sit two people but only just. Seating in the bedroom on the wooden planks was simply uncomfortable. The bed is extremely firm, my husband and l both found this uncomfortable but it may suit others.

We paid for half board and wasted 90% of this extra, following dinner the first evening we resolved to eat out for the rest of the holiday. The evening menu was extremely limited and with a very strong focus on fish/seafood. Vege options were extremely limited. For the last two nights of our stay the menu offered was identical. Breakfast was a disaster unless you are prepared to be one of the first into the dining area at 7.30am . Arriving any time around 9am resulted in long queues for the single coffee machine and a poor choice of cold meats and cheese. The breads/pastries were all extremely dry and over-cooked. The fresh fruit available was extremely limited. Generally an unappetising buffet and the challenges of getting a cup of tea or coffee were such that we became extremely frustrated.

The staff were all friendly and helpful but clearly totally overworked. In summary, this is a hotel with potential but there is a clear need to consider the impact of multiple guests demanding services at the same time. Due to the location of the hotel perhaps some effort needs to be made to provide activities beyond swimming. The roof terrace bar/dining area was not open during our five night stay so l am unable to comment on how this will add to the general feel of the hotel.

As the hotel was so new there were no reviews to go by, so we had to judge from the photos, which are very accurate. This is our first trip to Sicily so we really had no idea where we wanted to base our stay. This hotel seemed as good as any other.

Hotel is a modern affair with everything you would really want from a Tourist Hotel. I like the fact that it is not a big hotel with hundreds of rooms, so you get a more personal service.

We did not use the pool as we are more sight seeing people rather than sun people. Looks superb if a little small. We did notice that even at this time of year (not yet peak season) that the sun loungers around the pool are all taken.

The room photos are very accurate and a good size. The bathroom I found was a miss mash of branded ceramics and cheaper non branded designer style fittings (I'm a builder by trade). Can't see how long the shower door seal strip will last as it was already starting to fall apart after just a few weeks of opening. Whilst the painted shower walls and sink was a novel touch (and cheap no doubt) I found it rather low class. some of the silicone seal was already peeling around the sink to the wall.

Highlight of the room was the excellent air con. Quiet and actually with a controller that did something! You could easily and quickly obtain the temperature you wanted and it held it there accurately.

Breakfast was a typical Italian style with an Egg Station. The buffet style breakfast had carbs in all the variations that you could ever want! Must admit, by day 3 I was getting a bit bored of the breakfast. For me all it needed was some prepared fresh fruit. Daily, it has 2 fruits on offer (in original state), 3 if you count the peeled oranges used for the fresh orange juice and 2 processed fruits (prunes and peaches).

Overall, as a short stay hotel (under 4 nights) I think it is a great hotel. It's only let down by it's location in the middle of nowhere.

For anyone who does read my review and decide to stay here, the local town/village is Patti and the choice of restaurants is not good. We ate at the #1 rated in Patti and was mediocre.

We only discovered on the last day these is a wonderful restaurant in neighbouring Oliveri (15mins of winding mountain roads) called Donna Rosa, which serve a very typical Italian menu. You can get more info from searching for it on tripadvisor. We would have happily eaten there everyday if we had discovered it on day one....
