When we arrived at our hotel, a bunch of people were waiting to be brought to their room. There was only one clerk and she had to deal with everything. It took about 15 minutes before we were introduced into our room. We were given two keys. One for the front door and the other for our room. After 8... More

Beautiful hotel, girl on reception was very friendly and informative. The setting of the hotel in its walled grounds is fabulous. I would recommend this hotel to all.. It's so relaxing and quiet. This used to be a private property from the 19th century. It has been very tastefully restored.

This posada is gorgeous. The building itself is very old and has been beautifully restored to a modern standard, whilst retaining its character. Every time I stepped out on to the balcony and looked down at the small court yard and the huge wooden gates, I felt like a princess in a medieval fairy tale! The best thing about the... More

Stayed overnight while walking the Camino del Norte. Large, well-appointed twin room and bathroom with tea-making facilities in room. There is also a comfortable lounge with a well-stocked bar fridge. A restaurant, El Roble, is about 800m away on the N634, which was open on Sunday night. All other nearby restaurants were closed! There are also a couple of bars... More

We consider ourselves lucky to have stayed in this delightful hotel: superbly modernised yet retaining immense character and affording numerous facilities. We'd been touring for over a week and need somewhere quiet and we certainly found peace here. Superbly efficient and helpful staff.

Just a chance "near me now" on Trip Advisor led us to this utterly gorgeous hotel. The place is stunning, the staff delightful and the price such good value. Under the old beams our spacious and beautifully furnished room, complete with Juliet balcony, was a delight. The public rooms are equally lovely and an honesty bar the lounge another bonus. This... My wife and I stayed here having arrived in Santander by ferry late in the afternoon. The hotel is relatively easy to find but our satnav struggled with the address and the coordinates provided by Booking.com. But it is correctly displayed on Google Maps. The hotel has great character and spacious, well furnished rooms and a spacious modern bathroom. Our... More

My wife and I are hiking the Camino de Santiago. After 17 miles, sun with no clouds we arrived at this wonderful hotel. Built in the 18th century the old and ancient summer villa has been totally renovated while being careful to preserve the original charm. Mara the manager was outstanding! She arranged for a local restaurant to open early... More

Only spent one night here while touring Northern Spain but well worth the experience. Delightful, comfortable, quiet, clean and character. Ideal for a stop or longer to see this beautiful area. We had a bit of a job to find it initially but well worth the effort.
