Detailed Reviews
We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at Low Mill Guest House at the end of September. The way Neil and Jane have brought this fabulous 18th century corn mill back to life is inspirational, especially the way they’ve integrated the old workings into the living areas, and we loved the quirky touches throughout both the house and the riverside garden. Our room - the former grain store - was spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and we felt perfectly safe with all the measures implemented in line with COVID restrictions. Breakfast was excellent, with a good selection, and we appreciated the list of eating options for dining in the area that our hosts sent us prior to our arrival, enabling us to book our evening meals in advance. Very much looking forward to a return visit!

This was the perfect base for our trip to the Dales. We received a warm welcome with coffee and brownies in the garden and the room (Kiln room) was extremely comfortable, spacious and well equipped with thoughtful extras such as flapjacks, chocolate and a flask of fresh milk for our coffees. Breakfast was excellent! We loved the resident cat who waited outside our room door each morning to escort us to breakfast. Owners very friendly and provided us with a list of recommended restaurants in advance of our trip so we could make reservations. Would fully recommend and we hope to return again.

Spent 4 nights at Low Mill, everything was perfect. On arrival we we were greeted by Neil the owner who provided refreshments and home made cake. The house and gardens are lovely, both full or quirky ornaments and sculptures. Our bedroom - Kiln was lovely, very clean and well equipped, great shower (no bath), plenty of toiletries replenished as required, refreshment tray with fresh milk provided and homemade cakes. The breakfasts were great, there is a small honesty bar. There is nothing the owners could add, remove, or change to make the experience any better, they have got it perfect already.

Whilst following the Covid rules inside Low Mill made this stay somewhat different to our previous stays it didn't change the important things and we felt Covid safe.
Our room (The Workshop) was huge and contained everything we needed to enjoy our stay. As on our previous visits, our hosts were welcoming and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. There was a large range of breakfast choices which were both ample and delicious with homemade bread, marmalade and croissants on offer as well as freshly cooked full english breakfasts, pancakes, etc.etc. Additional touches included chocolate and homemade cakes/biscuits in your room to have with your coffe/tea when returning from your day out......the peanut cookies are a real winner.
Low Mill definitely deserves the awards it has won.

We have just had a stay at the Low Mill guest house, the setting is beautiful, the room was amazing and lots of personal unexpected little touches such as home made flap jack, chocolates, fresh milk left outside the room in a flask. The breakfast was super and cooked so well. We was greeted on arrival with fresh coffee in the garden, we would recommend this property to all travellers and we will defiantly be back, thank you for your hospitality.

Upon arrival there was a very warm and friendly welcome from Neil.
Parking was just outside the front door and we were shown to our room and offered a welcoming tea, coffee & cake/brownie either in our lovely room or in the wonderful interesting lounge. We discussed a few local places to eat/drink and places worth visiting, Neil was a great help with his local information. Our room was spacious, well maintained and very relaxing with smashing views of the river. We had a separate little sitting area with tv. A lovely bathroom with a great shower 🚿. Upon time to sleep the room was black dark and we slept like logs in the large comfortable bed.
The breakfast was pre ordered on the evening before and as we got to the dining room our table (with a lovely view of the river) was set with our choice of cereals and fruit juice. Neil swiftly appeared and brought our hot drinks and then toast. We had cooked breakfast and it did not disappoint, everything was lovely tasting and hot upon arrival. (Great local bacon and sausage) Nothing was any bother. We have had a lovely relaxing few day at this wonderful place and would not hesitate to recommend or return.
Thank you Neil and Jane and Angus the cat 🐈

We arrived to a warm welcome from Neil the owner, who showed us to our room and offered tea/coffee and freshly baked cakes.
Our room was was like a small apartment and full of character with parts of the old mill still visible.
The added touches to the room really made it- log burner, large sofa, dining table and the bed was amazing the large copper bath was just what was needed after a day out walking.
Breakfast was one of the best I have had plenty of choice, quality bacon and sausage and more if you wanted.
I would recommend a visit here you wouldn’t be disappointed

WOW!! What an amazing, beautiful place. We stayed here for my 50th birthday surprise break away. We have stayed in some stunning places but this beats everything. The owners make you feel very welcome and can not do enough for you. Low Mill is an outstanding guest house. The room was out of this world with a free standing copper bath added bonus. All of the food is home made or locally sourced and is of a very high standard.
Will definitely be visiting again,
Stunning place in a stunning location.

The location of the guest house was great near a pub with an unusual garden (with a Tardis and a gorilla) next to the river. Our room was large and comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. The traditional english breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice and award winning marmalade. Neil was welcoming and nothing was too much trouble i.e. arranged for a taxi to take and pick us up from a local restaurant. Overall well worth a stay

My husband booked this as a surprise for my birthday. Neil and Jane were fantastic hosts and made you feel very welcome. This is one of the nicest guest houses we have stayed in. Breakfast was first class with all local produce used. Lovely touches which were most appreciated cake and tea on arrival and chocolates in the room.
The bedroom was beautiful as was the living room which was so cosy with a wonderful history and much of the old mill machinery still preserved.
We will definitely return for another restful break and would not hesitate in recommending it
