Travellers' Choice
Up until the 1890's, High Mill was the village corn mill, after which it became a sawmill. In 1912 the Bainbridge Electric Lighting Company took over the site but The National Grid reached Upper Wensleydale a few years later and the mill returned to being a sawmill, driven by the old water turbine. It now has a different role that welcomes the discerning visitor, inviting them to delight in its heritage. We offer three rooms with generous en-suites, the two doubles with Four Poster Beds and a twin bedded room with stunning views, all furnished in keeping with the surroundings. All rooms have hospitality trays, hairdryers and flat screen TVs with DVD player and there is a separate TV lounge to relax and unwind in should you so wish.

Just returned from a two night stay at Riverside Bed and Breakfast. Excellent bed and breakfast in a perfect location with lovely views across the village of Bainbridge. Very friendly host with all necessary Covid measures in place to make you feel safe but still have an enjoyable stay. Very comfortable room and the breakfast was tasty and plenty of it too. Not the first time i have stayed here, and definitely won't be the last! :-)

This was our second stay at Roxana’s beautiful home. I say home because it is just that - you are made to feel like a guest in her home and her love for the b&b is clear to see. We first stayed long before COVID was a thing, and we can honestly say, even now, with restrictions in place, our stay was just as delightful as before. Roxana is doing her very best to keep everyone safe and happy, so have no worries at all about cleanliness or distancing. We found it a real treat to be served our lovely breakfast on a tray in bed, quality was just as good before. Great location as a base for the area. Hawes and Aysgarth are about 5 miles away, plenty of walks, plenty of peace and quiet. We’ll be back at some point I’m sure :-)

This B&B is absolutely amazing, the hostess Roxanne is so friendly you feel as though she has been a friend for years, the room was fantastic and spotless, the bathroom/shower was massive and everything you could possibly want even down to shampoo and conditioning, tea tray had quality biscuits and Yorkshire tea bags, Nescafé coffee, lots of milk and sugar. Breakfast was excellent and served in your room due to Covid but so well presented with croissants, yogurt and whatever you chose from the menu, it was hot and very tasty. I cannot recommend this B&B high enough and would most definitely stay again. Thank you Roxanne for making our weekend away a great one.

Had a great wee stay here. Roxana is a lovely human being! Friendly without being intrusive. Loved the wee design touches within the property. Make sure to have the croissants......crumbly, flakey and delicious!

We spent two nights here in early September. The guesthouse was full of character and the village perfect with a lovely tea room seconds from the guesthouse and pubs within walking distance. Roxanna was a delightful host.
