Detailed Reviews
We have just returned from a 3 night weekend break staying at Yorebridge House in the Barn Suite. The Barn Suite is situated away from the hotel, up in the village of Bainbridge. Staying at the Barn gave us a wonderful combination of a luxury hotel with the independence of a holiday cottage.
The Barn is spacious and superbly decorated in a contemporary country style. On 2 floors the downstairs is open plan with a lovely painted kitchen (fridge, oven, microwave, coffee maker) and top quality furnishings including an oak dining table and large leather sofa. Oak floor and a beamed ceiling complete the look. Outside is a completely private Yorkshire stone terrace and large hot tub. Upstairs the luxury continues with a very comfortable bed and the finest bed linens, a free standing double ended bath and twin rainfall showers. King post roof trusses retain the country feel.
Luxury hotels can sometimes be a bit stuffy but not here. The staff are friendly and couldn’t be more helpful.
We had dinner at the hotel restaurant which was as good as if not better than many Michelin starred restaurants where we’ve eaten. We thought it was reasonably priced for the quality. Breakfasts were excellent. The weather was good enough to allow us to eat outside in the lovely garden throughout our stay.
The hotel allowed us to take our dogs, something not usually allowed in the Barn Suite. Another example of how Yorebridge goes the extra mile to please guests.
We can’t recommend Yorebridge House too highly and we will definitely be returning.

From the minute we exited the car to the minute we left, we were welcomed and looked after in the most pleasant manner.
The room in which we had tea was a delight and our table was in a bay window overlooking the grounds and distant hills.
The afternoon tea itself was gorgeous - finger sandwiches, scone and cream so thick it was like butter, an assortment of cake and some lemon posset cups.
There was a choice of tea and the teapots were beautifully sized with plenty of tea and they didn't drip.
Tablecloths, cloth serviettes, fresh flowers and tealights finished off the perfection of the setting and service.
The chef sent out a plate with Happy Birthday written on it, plus a chocolate-covered strawberry.
I so enjoyed it and we hope to come back for no other reason than to repeat the experience because it was such a pleasurable treat.

We come here every year as it’s my late fathers favourite hotel (he’s been here many times)we as a family walk to the local water fall which is just beautiful.
The rooms and very clean and all up to a high standard. Having a hot tub is a lovely extra and definitely worth it. Wine on arrival and a lovely relaxing dinner, however this time, due to lack of staff because of covid etc we often were forgotten when asked for a drink or sauce etc. Being vegetarian the menu was very limited (we stayed three nights and two nights the menu was the same) third night it had changed which was a welcome change. Hot breakfast for vegetarians again is just eggs, no vege sausages or anything but this isn’t a major issue but would be nice to eat a hot breakfast for the price you pay. Another thing is we were given brown sauce for our eggs and after when reading ingredients it wasn’t actually vegetarian, our fault as should of checked but might be useful is staff were aware of what’s vegetarian and what’s not etc.
Definitely coming back every year and will always feel a sense of my late dad here so will always be a very very special place to all the family.

Yorebridge House is a lovely boutique hotel in a fabulous location in Wensleydale, it was recommended and we did have a lovely time but there were issues which is why it only has scored average as we expected it to be perfect. The distancing, hand sanitising by everyone was very good and you definitely felt safe
The TV didn’t work, there was no signal, we informed reception who said no problem it would be sorted but next evening still no TV, Sky etc.
The secondary glazing in the room was dirty and marked and it was difficult to see the lovely view especially in the bathroom. There was also a patch of mould in the top corner above the shower
Thw food was very nice, however the menu was very limited, 3 starters, 4 mains, two deserts and the cheese board. We stayed for two nights and only one of the main courses changed., everything else stayed the same, so there was a very limited choice for the second night. The first night there were no potatoes with the venison, however we did get some on the second night with the Halibut and the Lamb
At breakfast we had a small pot of tea, first morning it was filled up again but on the second morning when we asked for another pot of tea we never got one. We realise that there weren’t lots of staff serving and it was difficult to ask as we were so spread out due to Covid restrictions, but we did still expect good service and a pot of tea when asked.
It didn’t spoil our visit to the Dales but we were disappointed that our luxury break didn’t come up to standard

Superb 24 hours with the exceptional Yorebridge team ensuring we were cocooned in a bubble of complete happiness.
The food is faultless with lots of scrummy little surprises, the rooms are beautiful and elegant, Hot tub in snazzy fairy lighted terrace to soothe the worry’s of the day away was dipped into more than once! Then wrapped ourselves in huge soft white towels and dressing gowns.
The owner and a guest kindly dug our car out of the overnight snow drop and gave us several shoves to get us out of the car park...!
The whole vibe is laid back luxury without pretension - loved, loved, loved it and wouldn’t hesitate to return in any weather. Oh and on a final note, the whole place smells divine!

We visited Yorbridge house for a night away before our busy season for work starts. We couldn't have picked a nicer place to spend our time relaxing, when we first arrived we were greeted at the reception where we were asked to leave our luggage. We were then shown around the downstairs of the hotel so we were familiarised with the hotel before being shown to our room - our cases were taken by the colleague which was really appreciated. Our room was very spacious, beautifully done and very clean. The hotel colleague then went and brought us a glass of prosecco each which was a very nice unexpected surprise.
When we headed down to the bar area we were welcomed to sit by the fire whilst we had a drink before going for our meal, as it is the start of December the hotel was decorated for Christmas, the decorations were very well suited to the hotel and we're really smart - it was lovely to sit by the fire and take in the festive feeling.
Our meal was spot on with every course, partridge and venison is something we had not tried before and were not sure how it would be, but both tasted absolutely amazing!
We chatted to the staff about the local area as we had never visited the area before - we took the advice after we left and visited Wensleydale creamery and also leyburn, both of which were close to the hotel and a nice trip out.
When we left the hotel we saw a lot more of the grounds (it was dark when we arrived the night before) and were taken aback how stunning the hotel grounds were.
Definitely a well worth visit.
All of the staff were very pleasant and welcoming, thanks for a lovely stay!

Booked a night's accommodation at the Greenwich Suite. When we arrived we were surprised with a complimentary bottle of wine, and considering that we had been on a little hike prior (and gotten completely soaked), relaxing in the double free standing baths together was a dream!
I booked this as a surprise birthday present for my partner and she was absolutely loved it. Frequently commenting that this is the best hotel we've EVER visited.
Staff were exceptional and definitely be returning in the future.

We absolutely loved this hotel. The setting, the staff, the cleanliness and the food were amazing. The room (Greenwich Loft Room) was glorious. It was cleaned to perfection and it was stocked with freshly made cookies, water toiletries etc.
The food, we had half board and it was amazing. I’m vegetarian and that can be a challenge especially in a smaller hotel but the chef had thought about vegetarian food with such care, I was very impressed. Do not miss this food, my partners meat/fish dishes were equally as amazing and he’s still talking about the food. The staff are fabulous and we really enjoyed our very brief stay.
It’s in a wonderful setting but my tip would be to ensure you have fuel in the tank as there is not a lot around it, and be comfortable with silence, it was so peaceful.
Can’t find any faults to remark on. It’s a 10/10 and we couldn’t recommend this highly enough. Eat there - you will be glad you did!

Just returned from 2 nights in The Barn. Perfect in every way. We had fresh milk left in the fridge, coffee pods and tea bags along with fresh cookies. Perfect location. Only a short stroll to the hotel. The Barn is exactly as you see in the photos and video, in fact much better in real life. The highlight was the hot tub in a totally private patio. The hotel itself is stunning. Breakfast was plentiful and cooked to perfection. Impeccable service by the two ladies waiting on tables. We took dinner on one evening and although the menu was limited the food was sublime. It is no wonder that rooms are sought after and we will defiantly be back at The Barn in the near future if we can find availability.

Yes there is a lovely bar there.
We always book direct and have had a welcome glass of fizz. :)
No idea, ever thought of using the telephone to ask the hotel, or sending an email?
I think they are likely to be able to give you the definitive answer.
Agree, the surroundings are wonderful, though I think it’s more of a restaurant type of place and there are equally good places for upmarket afternoon tea in the Dales.
I would say ‘dog tolerant’ rather than ‘friendly’. There are 2 rooms that are reserved for dogs and their owners but for such a star rated establishment, there were no dog poo bins in the grounds. I had to ask and was told to place dog bags outside the patio door and it would be collected - it wasn’t. Welcome drinks for us upon arrival but no welcome dog treats - we did pay extra for the dog to stay with us. Just the attention to detail is lacking for a hotel you would expect to have it.
"The rooms with hot tubs are lovely if you like that kind of thing but do come at a premium cost Worth it if you use the tub"Read full review
