I have written a review earlier about this place with my general observations, and tried to steer away from giving a heads up to other travelers regarding price and officials. However there are a few points to be aware of: 1.) I have not been able to receive an invoice in spite of repeated requests for the money I transferred/paid...

The location is amazing. It is what you might picture an old Italian farmhouse community looking like in your dreams. The sunsets over the mountains are spectacular on some nights, nice on the others. There is a pool that is probably great, but in November, we didn't get to take advantage of it. As part of a full-month immersion program,...

I decided to return to Monestevole after attending a weekend workshop excursion for the month long sustainability session because I genuinely find it to be a magical place and experience. Away from the busy day to day you are surrounded by breath taking views, amazing food and great hospitality. Whether it's for a chance to kick back and relax or...

My husband and I spent the whole of November 2016 immersing ourselves into the Italian good life here at Monestevole and were pleasantly surprised at how relaxed and comfortable we felt there even after such a long time. The whole atmosphere of the place is inviting, encouraging and calming, from the rooms to the food to the staff. Our days...

Highly recommended! The wine! The food! The chef is amazing and I loved working in the gardens and with the animals. With the warm and friendly community, as well as the romantic and tastefully restored old stone buildings, I like I lived in Italy, not just visiting. Soil building and permaculture strategies are very inspiring. Deeply rewarding!

I traveled with my two children to Umbria to visit my third - 14 year old son who is on a road trip semester with school. They were staying at Monestevole. For their purposes the place was ideal. It looked to be a good place for environmentally conscious and sensitive teens to try their hands in farm things and learn...

We traveled here with a group of students as part of a Career Discovery Tour with Education First and it was fantastic! I want to travel there with my family now! Everyone at the farm was fantastic and it is absolutely beautiful! The food is wonderful and one of my favorite things was being in the kitchen while the cooking...

This venue manages to combine a sublime mix of relaxed but fine hosting with attention to detail where it's required. Usually it takes me 3-4 days to relax into a place / holiday but here it was pretty much instant. Thought goes into everything form the quirky touches in the building itself to the farm and surroundings. It's a stunning...

We have just returned from our 4-day wedding celebration and can't praise this place enough. The team couldn't have been more hospitable and the support we had to make everything a success was above and beyond. The setting at Monestevole is truly breathtaking and the Tribewanted sustainable tourism philosophy gives you a wonderful insight into rural Umbrian life as it...

Monestevole is an ancient hamlet, built originally in the late 1300s. Entirely restored with care and tranformed into a eco-friendly community, it is a place full of energy where every angle brings beauty and inspiration. Situated on 40 hectares of land, including olive groves, vineyard, forests, organic gardens and common areas (such as the swimming pool and outdoor wood-burning pizza oven), Monestevole is a paradise in the hidden hills of Italy. ... more   less

“All the rooms are really lovely, but if you are a couple I would recommend Aria or Stelle, for privacy and a bit of extra luxury. Chiesetta is great for families and Camerata is perfect for a group of friends.”
