I cannot fault this place, right from the start Linda was friendly and ameniable. From getting us fresh milk for our coffee to spending time helping us find somewhere local to eat, even ringing a pub to try and make a booking (but they were full). The room was clean and comfortable with everything you might need, even extra pillows and shower gel. The location is great too, rural enough for seeing baby lambs outside but close enough to the main road and Penrith itself. We will definately be going back!
Excellent bed and breakfast close to M6 at junction 41. Far enough away not hear it. Very comfortable room with excellent facilities Linda is an ideal attentive host full of helpful local knowledge. Excellent breakfast
We stayed for one night as a family get together. The situation is very convenient to the M6 but you would have no idea you were staying anywhere near to a motorway at all. Lovely rural setting. Warmly greeted on arrival. Bedrooms are really gorgeous - we actually had all the rooms in the B and B which meant we were able to see all of them. The 2 downstairs bedrooms can be set up as family or twin rooms. Lovely spacious rooms with very nice bathrooms. The upstairs rooms (deluxe) are beautiful. All rooms showcase features of the original barns - huge beams, lovely exposed stonework and lots of little interesting quirks.Everything was immaculate. The room for breakfast (Gincase) is very interesting too - again lots of unique features. Lovely spacious room with comfortable sofas for lounging and relaxing. The grounds around the building are immaculate, nice seating areas to sit out on a good day. Now to breakfast! Wow! Great breakfast ordering system in advance. Loads of choice, plentiful, excellent quality (figgy loaf is a must), no problem catering for coeliacs, beautifully presented and superb service. Really this could rival any 5 star hotel.…
We were on our way to the Edinburgh Festival and needed somewhere to stay close to the motorway. We received a very warm welcome, despite being later than anticipated, and were very impressed with the rooms. In fact we wished we had been staying for more than one night. Our rooms were spotless and the fresh milk was appreciated. Hearty breakfast in the morning and attentive service throughout our stay. Highly recommended!
We stayed here for one night whilst travelling back from Scotland. Very well placed off the motorway and a fair price for the quality of the room. Breakfast was amazing, recommend the cooked breakfast ! Good local pubs nearby for a hearty meal in the evening. Extremely friendly hosts, they couldn’t do enough to make you feel welcome. The rooms are very well stocked, some nice touches. My only criticism, the walls are thin. You can hear other guests talking and watching tv. Makes you conscious how noisy you are too.
