The hotel is a modernised country house set in beautiful grounds. The rooms and common areas are beautifully furnished. My room didn't have a comfy chair or desk, but the common area is very comfortable and welcoming. The breakfast is excellent. The owner is very helpful and will happily explain where the interesting places to see are. One niggle -...

This is a beautiful hotel and with charming and helpful proprietors. If you are walking the Camino Ingles, be warned: it is quite a way off the Camino. The last 5kms to the hotel are all uphill and, unless you're really gung-ho, you should consider taking a cab up from Pontedeume. Also, dinner is not provided, so eat before you...

Upon arriving at Castelo de Andrade, we were immediately welcomed by the hosts, who were wonderful to us during the course of 4 nights. (We were initially supposed to spend 3 nights but extended an extra night because we liked it so much.) We received countless tips on nearby towns and the Galician coast, and had excellent, fresh breakfasts each...

The building is ancient, the rooms extremely comfortable and quiet, the setting magnificent, the breakfast superb and hosts could not have been more indulgent and helpful. The Casa makes a convient base for exploring the intriguing Val do Eume park , the ancient Caaveiro monastery ,and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Casa do Castelo de Andrade is situated 6,5 km. from the medieval town of Pontedeume. It is made up of three buildings, surrounded by land known as Chousa do Conde, 60,000 m2 of open fields and forests, and with the only neighbour being the nearby Andrade Castle, which can be seen from the house. The origins of the house and its connection with the castle are unknown, but it is thought that it dates back at least 300 years. The setting up of Casa do Castelo de Andrade meant more than a year of restoration, preserving the buildings and recovering the scenery around it, after more than 40 years of neglect. Today, the house offers 10 double en-suite rooms and common areas decorated with restored furniture and other features that go with the time and style of the house, but also with a touch of modernism, aimed at the comfort of our guests: one room has a hydrotherapy bath and another five have hydrotherapy showers, 1.5 m. by 2 metre beds, with latex mattresses in all the rooms. ... more   less
