Casa de Medina is a stylish townhouse with four en suite bedrooms wrapped around a central patio in the heart of the charming white-washed town of Medina Sidonia. The inviting pool and terraces are perfect for unwinding on lazy, sunny afternoons, as is the roof terrace with panoramic views over a patchwork of undulating tiled roofs and church spires to the rural splendor of rolling hills fringed by the Atlantic Ocean.

My pen pal from California was visiting Spain for an extended holiday so she rented the whole Casa for a week for 12 people, following my recommendation. My husband and I have stayed there twice before, but not for some years. Gary and Kirsty who own several properties in the area are always very welcoming. Since our last visit Kirsty has opened La Vista de Medina, a restaurant with accommodation at the very top of the town. Another friend of mine has stayed here and I hear really good things about these apartments. The restaurant/bar, with astonishing views, especially at sunset, has great food and lovely terraces. They provide blankets for sitting outside on the terraces on chilly evenings and the waiters were really helpful. They may not speak fluent English but they could not have been nicer or more pleasant. Kirsty was extremely helpful and should be very proud of all she's achieved. Gary runs the Casa. The addition of private secure parking since our last visit was a definite plus. I would also add Bar Ortega in the square is a great place. If anyone would like further info please contact me direct.

We rented the Case for our extended family reunion holiday. The beautiful house worked so well with every couple having their own en- suite. The views from the terrace acros to the Bay Of Cadiz are outstanding, and the sunsets had everybody reaching fir their cameras. The kids loved the pool. And so close to all the historic sites of this lovely old town. We also had a fabulous meal at La Vista just 2 minutes walk away, Gary and Kirsty were so helpful.

We just got back from our visit to Casa Medina. Kirsty was so hospitable. She even let us borrow her umbrellas for the beach. The amenities are fabulous and offer stunning views of the pool and/or countryside hills. We had a fabulous time and would love to return one day. The food at the restaurant was great. We have no complaints about our stay at all! Thanks again Kirsty everything!

We were 4 families and we rented the whole place for 6 days. The house is very nicely done up and maintained. The amenities available are perfect. Medina Sidonia is a great place to discover by walking around. Lots of things happening in the evenings, small supermarkets available too with a big one a short drive away. The view from the house is fantastic and all the great beaches of Tarifa and Chiclana are a short drive away. These beaches are much better than the ones in Marbella. Gary, the owner is quite friendly and supportive. He has a restaurant nearby where breakfast is served and Wi-Fi is available. No wi-fi in the house but you wouldnt miss it. I would highly recommend this property for a group. A vehicle is a must to enjoy this place.

We went to Casa Medina at the end of August 2012 with our 2 kids, aged 3 and 5 and had the most fabulous holiday. The kids even learned to swim in the pool there as it was a perfect size - small but deep. They could swim a bit before but this helped them to have total confidence in the water, without aids. We went out to a few other places but the kids mostly wanted to stay in the house dipping in and out of the pool. Breakfast on the balcony in the mornings were such a treat and relaxing there in the evenings with the sunset was amazing. We had the house to ourselves and it was so luxurious - we loved the al fresco living, with the centre of the house open to the stars. Being at the top of the hill gave great views too, although even better when we went just a little further up to the associated La Vista restaurant. We made friends with the owners and our kids played together in the evenings while we had a glass of wine in the plaza. The kids couldn't have been happier. Aside from popping up the La Vista for the odd meal and swim and chat, we did venture further afield a couple of times. We went to Zahora beach near Vejer and to La Barrosa beach too. Both lovely in different ways. We also went to see the dancing horses in Jerez which was fantastic. But Medina Sidonia and the Casa were so lovely, we just wanted to relax there, mostly. I think that that Italian review which was negative wasn't even about the house - it sounded like they stayed in an apartment in the hotel, which is very different. The hotel is great too but not the same holiday and you can't compare. We met some people who stayed there and had a lovely time. We can't say enough about this place to recommend it. Rent the whole house to yourself and enjoy it. You won't be disappointed. There are actually 5 bedrooms, sleeping 11 easily, so you can go as a large group or just take a small family and take advantage of the space.
